Absolutely loved doing this! You buy your ticket at the Visitor's Center and the prices change depending on the time of day. I think it was about $80 for the time I chose. There was a later one that was cheaper but it was a little too close to when our cruise ship would be leaving.
FjordGuiding is the company and they have trips every hour and it lasts about 50 minutes. You don't need to bring anything - they provide you everything.
It was beautiful and so exciting! You go on a RIB - boat through the Geiranger fjord. Highly recommend doing it!

The Geirangerfjord A fairytale by the fjord,. The deep blue UNESCO-protected Geirangerfjord is surrounded by majestic, snow-covered mountain peaks, wild waterfalls and lush, green vegetation. You would have to be exceptionally blasé if you failed to be impressed by this astounding creation of Mother Nature, emphasised by the will of man to maintain a foothold on the steep mountain sides and glean a living here. Impressive waterfalls cast cascades of thundering water from almost vertical mountain sides among them the famous falls, De syv søstrene (“the Seven Sisters”), Friaren (“the Suitor”) and Brudesløret (“the Bridal Veil”), and tease the cliffs with feather-light gossamer veils of mist whose mission seems to be to create a never-ending display of ever changing rainbows to fill you with delight and wonder.

Geiranger, Norvegian Fjords Cruise
Visit to Geiranger June 4, 2013 at a Vision of the Seas Cruise from Copenhagen.
The easiest way to see two of Geiranger's famous viewpoints (Flydalsjuvet and Ørnesvingen - *Eagle bend*) on a short round trip by bus. Many departures from the town center to Flydalsjuvet and Ørnesvingen. Tickets at the Tourist information office on the pier or online.
Geiranger is a small tourist village in Sunnmore in the municipality of Stranda in More and Romsdal county, in the western part of Norway. It lies at the head of the Geirangerfjord, which is a branch of the Storfjord. The nearest city is Alesund. Geiranger is home to some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, and has been named the best travel destination in Scandinavia by Lonely Planet. Since 2005, the Geirangerfjord has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Seven Sisters waterfall is located just west of Geiranger.
This third biggest cruise ship port in Norway receives 140 to 180 ships during the four-month tourist season.
In 2012 some 300.000 cruise passengers visited Geiranger during the summer season.. The tourist season stretches from May to early September.

Stretching for more than nine miles (15 km) long, Geirangerfjord is a natural wonder of deep blue water surrounded by majestic cliffs and lush green mountains towering more than 3,500 feet (1,000 meters) high. Adding to the spectacular scenery are several stunning waterfalls and lush countryside dotted with picturesque farms.

A visit to Geirangerfjord offers a variety of attractions and adventures. Not to be missed are the impressive waterfalls that include the Seven Sisters. Jutting out from the cliff sides in seven separate cataracts, the Seven Sisters waterfall plunges more than 800 feet (250 meter) into the fjord, creating a refreshing curtain in which people can actually walk behind.

Not far from the fjord is the town of Geiranger, home to restaurants, lodging and the Geiranger Fjord Centre, which displays exhibits about the history and culture of the area. On each side of the fjord, the lush mountains are dotted with quaint farms. Several of these farms offer accommodation, home cooked Norwegian food and opportunities to meet farm animals and learn about the local farming industry. Two of the most popular of these are the Westerås Farm and Herdalssetra Mountain Farm.

A great number of hiking trails in the area offer adventure and splendid viewpoints of the fjord. In the winter, skiing is popular in the snow-covered mountains. Kayaking, canoeing, rafting and fishing are also great ways to experience the wonder of Geirangerfjord. What’s more, there are plenty of boat cruises available. A car ferry runs lengthwise along the fjord between Geiranger town and the small village of Hellesylt.

Nature Notes from Norway - Sogne fjord & Geiranger
The Norwegian fjords are worn down glaciated valleys. They emerge from Norway's west coast making it look like a frayed flag. Massive creeks characterise the landscape. And thanks to the remarkably mild climate this is where one finds the centre of the countries fruit cultivation.
The weather in the fjords is very unstable. The sea has a huge impact on the fjords' climate. Norwegian fjords are impressive natural phenomena which developed in the ice age. But the dizzy cliff faces and the tiny boats on the water have carried many a tourist.
All that glitters here is not gold. Being alongside the water would be ideal was what many businessmen thought. Both heavy and light industry was established at suitable places along the fjords. The economic basis was amply sufficient, for instance relatively cheap energy. Yet tourism beats everything. There can be no Norway without a fjord.
One may be surprised by the forests that grow on the fjords' sometimes near vertical slopes and the elaborate plant and animal life there. From the long-eared owl to the cuckoo, there is space for everyone. Each plant and each animal makes its own demands on the region. Some birds look for coniferous forests, others prefer deciduous forests. In short: the basic conditions are food and safety. Some like being high up, others prefer to be low down, others again prefer being dry or wet. It depends on the place where your cradle once stood.

Bergen. Norwegian Fjords Cruise

Bergen is the second largest city in Norway and the most popular gateway to the fjords of West Norway. The city is renowned for its beautiful nature
Follow me on my walking through Bergen:
Bergenhus fortress is one of the oldest and best preserved forts of Norway.
The oldest surviving buildings are from the mid 13th century, but the area was a royal residence from the late 11th century. The fortress is situated close to the cruise pier.
Statsraad Lehmkuhl, a three-masted barque sail training vessel built in 1914, one of the best kept in its kind.
Bryggen (north side of the bay). Between 1350 and 1750, this area used to be a Hansa dock, trading and processing area. The wooden houses at Bryggen today were built after the devastating city fire of 1702, but are probably very similar to the buildings that were there before. Despite neglect and fires, a considerable number
of buildings have survived and are now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
If you enter some of the alleyways between the storefronts, you really get a feel of what Bergen must have been like in the middle ages. but the most interesting aspect is probably that almost all of the buildings are still in use. Building first opened for this purpose in 1708.
Bergen's outdoor fish market has a long history, being the historical center for fish trade.
Most tourists find their way here, but with locals changing their shopping habits,
the fish market today does not compare to what it once was. The fish market is dominated by makeshift souvenir shops and seafood stalls.
Fløibanen is a funicular which goes up Fløyen, a plateau in the mountain massif north-east of the city center. From here, you get a great view of the city.
And then back to the pier through the old city.

Fimed at Geiranger fjord in Norway. Newly developed docking system for cruise ships at ports where permanent dock is not possible. Avoids necessity of tender service with small boats. Very convenient for passengers. Allows small ports to attract larger cruise ships.
Walk with the Waterfalls -Geiranger Norway
This is must do for everyone. The walk up or down is 327 steps, plateaus and gives you high airy view points, going close to the surging Storfossen (waterfall). The Waterfall Walk runs from Geiranger center up to Norwegian Fjord Centre and Hotel Union. . Someone had an amazing idea of building these stairs to give tourist a better view of the waterfalls. This absolutely an easy walk and will give you an amazing experience!
