Praia de Odeceixe is a beach within the Municipality of Aljezur, in the Algarve, Portugal. The beach is on the western Seaboard in the extreme north west of the Algarve. It is inside the Vicentine Coast Natural Park. The beach is 2.1 miles (3.4 km) west of the village of Odeceixe, and is 77.9 miles (125.4 km) north west, by road, from the regions capital of Faro. In 2012 Praia de Odeceixe has been designated a blue Flag beach. The main beach of Praia de Odeceixeis is situated at the mouth of the Rio de Seixe (River Seixe). Praia de Odeceixeis location is right on the border between the Algarve and the Alentejo. This sandy beach is on the southern side of the outflow to the sea. The northern side of the river has a backdrop of steep cliffs which shelter the beach. To the south of the main beach is a small cove with a sandy satellite beach called Praia de Adegas which has been designated a naturalist beach. Also to the south of the main beach is the small village at Praia de Odeceixe, from where a steep path descends to the beach.

Après avoir quitté la Maison d'Hôtes Solar dos Vales, nous nous sommes dirigés vers la plage de Odeceixe située également sur la côte ouest.
En fait, nous avons emprunté une petite route qui mène à un belvédère offrant une superbe vue panoramique de cette splendide plage.
Cette route nous a conduit au sommet d'une montagne. Cependant, elle se terminait brusquement à travers les champs.
Nous avons donc laissé notre voiture à cet endroit et puis nous nous sommes rendus à pied au belvédère par un sentier forestier.
La vue sur cette vaste plage est vraiment époustouflante. Elle est bordée par une jolie rivière qui se jette dans l'océan.
Par la suite, nous nous sommes dirigés vers le stationnement situé derrière la plage et nous avons fait une petite balade en bordure de la rivière. Nous nous sommes rendus ainsi jusqu'à l'océan et sommes revenus par le même sentier.
Cette rivière est d'ailleurs utilisée pour la baignade. Étant donné qu'elle n'est pas très profonde, ses eaux sont beaucoup plus chaudes que l'océan.
Certains s'amusent même à se laisser flotter à la surface de l'eau et sont emportés par le courant présent dans l'embouchure de cette rivière.
Dépendamment de l'endroit où vous stationnerez votre voiture, l'accès à cette plage se fait à partir d'un escalier en bois (près du stationnement à gauche de la plage) ou en traversant à gué la rivière.
Le surf est très populaire à cet endroit. Il y a d'ailleurs une école de surf qui loue du matériel et offre même des cours.
On retrouve également plusieurs restaurants à proximité de cette plage.

World class right hander - praia da Arrifana Surf - Portugal road trip 2019 - Aljezur Portugal
Spot nº 23 from Portugal to Morocco is a world class right hander in Arrifana, near Aljezur Portugal. Time for an Algarve road trip! I fell in love with this beach 22 years ago when I first visited Portugal. The moment I visited the place I decided I was going to move from Belgium to Portugal to live in a beautiful country with surf like this.
This weekend my girlfriend and I decided to go back and spend my birthday weekend there in a hostel with a skate bowl. Time for our next road trip down to the south of Portugal. I couldn't ask for more. Perfect company, screamers in Arrifana and a sunset skate session in my private bowl.

Dans le cadre de la programmation « Lavrar O Mar »

Après une semaine à sillonner les paysages magiques de la costa Vincentina et de la serra de Monchique, à la rencontre des ses habitants, ils étaient plus de mille à se retrouver le week-end dernier lors des deux grands rendez-vous solidaires du port d’Arifana et des places de Monchique.
Un grand merci à toute l’équipe de « Lavrar o Mar » pour avoir pensé et soutenu cette aventure avec nous.
