Oeschinensee & Mountain Coaster | Best Mountain Lake | Top places to see in Switzerland
Oeschinensee is one of the most beautiful lake in Switzerland's Bernese Oberland region. It is located 4 km east of Kandersteg in the Oeschinen valley.
The visit can be a full fun filled day. From Kandersteg it takes around 1 hour to reach the lake but the option of Cable car is also there which runs between Gondelbahn Kandersteg and Rodelbahn.
And it takes 20 mins walk from Rodelbahn to reach the lake.
Also enjoy the Mountain Coaster just beside the Rodelbahn.

Felix and I travel to Kandersteg, Switzerland and where we visit one of the most gorgeous and picturesque lakes I have ever laid eyes on. It's a definite must see in Switzerland as well as a UNESCO World Heritage site. We'll take you on a hike around Oeschinen where we're at one with nature.
FYI - In Swiss German, it's pronounced Oeschinensee but for everybody else, it's Oeschinen Lake!

Oeschinen lake, Oeschinensee, Switzerland (2009).
Oeschinen Lake (German: Oeschinensee) is a lake in the Bernese Oberland, Switzerland, 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) east of Kandersteg in the Oeschinen valley. At an elevation of 1,578 metres (5,177 ft), it has a surface area of 1.1147 square kilometres (0.4304 sq mi). Its maximum depth is 56 metres (184 ft).
The lake is fed through a series of mountain creeks and drains underground. The water then re-surfaces as the Oeschibach. Part of it is captured for electricity production and as water supply for Kandersteg.
In observations from 1931 to 1965, the elevation of the lake surface varied between 1,566.09 metres (5,138.1 ft) and 1,581.9 metres (5,190 ft). The average seasonal variation was 12.2 metres (40 ft) (September/April).
The lake is generally frozen during five months, from December to May.
Fish in the lake include Arctic char (Seesaibling), lake trout (Kanadische Seeforelle), rainbow trout (Regenbogenforelle). From January to March, ice fishing is popular.
A gondola lift from Kandersteg leads to Oeschinen, 20 minutes by foot from the lake.
Since 2007 the lake is part of the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn UNESCO World Heritage Site.

VLOG - SWITZERLAND WINTER HIKE : LAKE OESCHINENSEE
An epic first big mission of the Switzerland road trip. We decided to leave our airbnb and head out to Kandersteg, Switzerland for a 3km hike up an icy road to Lake Oeschinensee. Got to pop up the drone twice!, get some epic shots, and spend some bro time with Jackson. After hiking down the icy road we got to the car and missioned to Mcdonalds where we offloaded footage and charged up the batteries for tomorrow. Super stoked to go paragliding over the swiss alps tomorrow! Loving the daily grind. Keep working hard and ill catch you guys tomorrow. Peaceeeee

Kandersteg is a high-altitude resort village in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. Trails, like the challenging Allmenalp, and a cable car head east to Lake Oeschinen. Set at the foot of the Blüemlisalp massif, the lake is also a popular ski area, as is Sunnbüel to the southwest. In the forested Blausee Nature Park to the north, Blausee is a small, trout-filled lake fed by subterranean springs.
