Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street, Osaka, Japan
Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street is a 2.6km shopping arcade that is said to be the longest straight and covered shopping arcade in Japan.
The street dates back a few centuries and with a very neighbourhood atmosphere, offers a glimpse of daily life of the Japanese. Products sold here are mainly geared at locals so don't expect to find many souvenirs and such.
You may easily access Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street from several subway stations, Minamimorimachi Station (Sakaisuji/Tanimachi Lines), Ogimachi Station (Sakaisuji Line), Tenjinbashi Rokuchome Station (Sakaisuji/Tanimachi Lines) and on train, Tenma Station (JR Osaka Loop Line).

Memories from Last Winter: Kobe, Shirakawa-go, and Asuka-Nara
This year we got to experience the peak of winter in Kyoto (last yeat we went back to Indonesia during winter). Winter in Kyoto was quite harsh, even though we didn't get much snow here. Indonesian people in Kyoto often call it salju ketombe or dandruff snow. It doesn't pile up and disappears once it touches the ground.

This is the 2nd Episode of our Japan Autumn Holiday. In this vlog capturing our activities during Day 4 in Japan. We went to Kids Plaza Osaka, a 5 stories building which is dedicated to kids education through playing, exploring, adventuring and discovering hands-on activities. Children would love to spend the whole day in this plaza.
Kids Plaza Osaka was built in 1997, this is the first museum in Japan which dedicated for children education. In the middle of this plaza there is a Henteko-na-machi (strange town) which rising from 3rd to 5 floor. This strange town is like a maze with ladders and steep slide that the kids loved so much.
The direction to go to Kids Plaza is right outside Ogimachi Station on the Subway Sakaisuji Line. Just 3-minute walk from Temma Station on the JR Osaka Loop Line.
Next to this plaza building is Ogimachi park which is also a wonderful park for your kids to playing and running around, it has also public slides for children.

Shirakawago Village, Gifu in 4K - 白川郷●岐阜 - Japan As It Truly Is
Shirakawago in Gifu is a rare look at a Japan from the distant past. You can see all the best of this farmhouse village right here.
Shirakawago (白川郷) is very famous for its Gassho Zukkuri, or steep thatched roof houses. Imagine a Japan centuries ago, with no electricity, no internet, radio, TV, cars, trains, or anything else modern that you take for granted. And little news from the outside world coming in. Not to mention bitter winters with snow piling up as high as you are. To deal with the heavy snow, the farmhouses are built so they won't hold the snow, and the thick layer keeps the heavy rains of Japan out as well.
Shirakawago, along with a similar village, Gokayama in Toyama, are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Ogimachi in Shirakawago is the biggest with around 152 households and a population of 634 people. Gokayama has far fewer tourists, but is also more trouble to get to.
Shirakawago has become an enormously popular place to visit, and you will find huge crowds of day tripping tourists until the last bus leaves for the day (mostly about 5:30 PM). Those choosing to stay overnight at one of the farmhouses will find a totally different, silent atmosphere after that.
Most people going to Shirakawago are en route to Kanazawa or Takayama. You can leisurely see Shirakawago in just a few hours. One of the best views is the village overlook, which you can reach by bus (¥200 one way) or climb up in about 20 minutes. The path is closed during heavy snow.
There is no rail access to Shirakawago - the only way in or out is by bus (not covered by the full JR Rail Pass, but is covered by the Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass, the Shoryudo Highway Bus Ticket, and some others), or by rental car. By bus, most people travel from Takayama or Kanazawa.
