Wikipedia:
Hartberg is a city in Styria, Austria, the capital of the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld (district). As of 2014, it has a population of 6,449 in an area of 21.58 km². About 68 km up the A2 is the large city of Graz. This town has a long and rich history. A settlement was located here in the Neolithic ages. One of the most important, prehistoric settlements of Styria developed on Ringkogel in the 3rd century BC. A massive protective wall surrounded it. Only two towers remain of the 7-8 metre high and 1500 metre long wall. (Schölbinger Tower and Reck Tower).
The first mention of Hartberg as a city was in a 1286 document. During the 15th century, it was conquered by King Matthias Corvinus of Hungary.
A huge fire destroyed the town up to a few houses, but the population has been continually on the rise since then.
A massive protective wall surrounded it. In 1122 margrave Leopold I of Styria founded Hartberg. Hartberg was even a central village in Styria for a certain time. The first written reference to Hartberg as civitas was in 1286.

The New Town Hall (German: Neues Rathaus)
penangholiao.com bring to you: The New Town Hall (German: Neues Rathaus) is a town hall at the northern part of Marienplatz in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. It hosts the city government including the city council, offices of the mayors and part of the administration. In 1874 the municipality had left the Old Town Hall for its new domicile.
The building
It was built between 1867 and 1908 by Georg von Hauberrisser in a Gothic Revival architecture style. It covers an area of 9159 m² having 400 rooms. The 100 meters long main facade towards the Marienplatz is richly decorated. It shows the Guelph Duke Henry the Lion, and almost the entire line of the Wittelsbach dynasty in Bavaria and is the largest princely cycle in a German town hall. The central monument in the center of the main facade between the two phases at Marienplatz above the guard house, is an equestrian statue of Prince Regent Luitpold. The bay of the tower contains statues of the first four Bavarian kings.
The main facade is placed toward the plaza, while the back side is adjacent to a small park (Marienhof). The basement is almost completely occupied by a large restaurant called Ratskeller. On the ground floor, some rooms are rented for small businesses. Also located in the ground floor is the major official tourist information.
The first floor hosts a big balcony towards the Marienplatz which is used for large festivals such as football championships or for concerts during the Weihnachtsmarkt. Its main tower has a height of 85 m and is available for visitors with an elevator. On the top thrones the Münchner Kindl. The Rathaus-Glockenspiel, performed by an apparatus daily on 11am, 12pm and 5pm, is a tourist attraction.

2011-06 Munich Trip
A collection of random sites that we visited in Munich, plus the introduction of the food and beer that we consumed there.
So what did we do in Munich? Well, we drank a lot of beer. We spend a lot of time in and around Marienplatz, where there are a lot of outdoor cafes and people, including many tourists, bustling and lingering about. Marienplatz is where the Neues Rathaus (the New Town Hall) is located, which was build from 1867 to 1908. This is a very Neo-Gothic structure that is fairly ornately decorated. We climbed up on top (well, not climbed, more like took an elevator) of the New Town Hall, which offered a great view of the city, and Munich from above is really quite pretty. There is also the Altes Rathaus (the Old Town Hall). Visited some of the churches in town (not very exciting) and checked out the Viktualienmarkt (lots of fresh produce and goods). There is a beer counter in the Viktualienmarkt where Munich's breweries take turns to serve their own brew. I am a fan of pretty much all the beers that I had in Munich! If I have to choose a favorite though, I am a fan of Hacker-Pschorr and the Andechser line of beers. Finally, ate at a few local restaurants, all pretty good, and visited the famous Hofbräuhaus, where HB beers flow like there is no tomorrow. I am not as found of HB beers as some others, but they are good, and so are Augustiner. There are still unfortunately many that we did not get a chance to try.

Walking Tour to Bamberg 21 June 2015
I was glad to finish this video about my visit of the town of Bamberg with my brother. Bamberg sort of escaped massive destruction during the war.
My video mostly highlights the surrounding areas of Altes Rathaus particularly the 14th century old Municipio di Bamberga (the Old Town Hall).
I took special interest in the river Regnitz and the Town Hall's splendid frescoes that adorn its fascades.
It also fascinated me that in all the cities, towns and municipalities we visited during our Amsterdam to Budapest Cruise, the houses and buildings or other structures have a colourful display of boxed geraniums and other blooms by their window sills. I am thinking of doing this in my property after I have finished all my intended travels to Europe because these boxed geraniums are fantastically pleasing to the eyes.
Also, I took delight to take videos of people in the town particularly the locals having as people watching is one of my favourite pastimes, particularly, when I am in a foreign country. I believe I have the right instinct to know who the locals are from the tourists.
The young people in the bridge were most interesting and the old man whom I was also able to capture on my camera, but unfortunately not his peculiarly-looking bike. Incidentally my camera is old and I spotted the differences of the shots taken by my brother Art Blanco, who has a more sophisticated camera compared to mine. The notable differences were in the sky and
and the atmosphere.
Yes the weather when we were here was chilly and overcast and so I had to pull up the hood of my cardigan in fear of catching a cold.
However, my brother's camera was able to capture some blue tints f the sky which my camera did not.
I was taken aback but still manage to capture the young people whom I supposed must be having the 'Fruhschoppen'--ie being so jolly that I thought they must have had a considerable beer. I thought they would be upset because I was videotaping them (ie having lived in Australia where privacy is of utmost important). I was amazed one of them even kind of posed for my camera.

Christmas Markets in Vienna 2014, Austria
Vienna (Wien) - is the capital and largest city of Austria, its cultural, economic, and political centre.
From mid-November to Christmas, Vienna’s prettiest squares transform into magical Christmas markets. The most ppopular one is Vienna Magic of Advent, on Rathausplatz. But there are some more: Christmas village on Maria-Theresien-Platz, The Old Viennese Christmas Market on Freyung, The Christmas Village at Belvedere Palace, The cultural and Christmas market in front of Schönbrunn Palace, The Christmas Market on Karlsplatz, The Christmas Village at the Altes AKH, etc.
The aroma of Christmas bakery items and hot punch creates a pre-Christmas atmosphere.

The heart of the city center Munich is the Marienplatz with the Old and New Town Hall. The Neo-Gothic New Town Hall was built by George of Hauberrisser and completed in 1909. The 85 m high tower is famous for its carillon that sounds every day at noon. The late Gothic Old Town Hall with its ballroom was built by Jörg von Halsbach in 1480.
A few steps away, in easterly direction we come to the Holy Spirit Church and continue our way to the Viktualienmarkt, Munich's most famous daily food market. On the way back we visit the courtyards of the new town hall and walk along the tradition restaurant Donisl in the Weinstrasse.
We visit the Theatinerstrasse and the Maximilianstrasse, Munich's most important shopping streets. At the beginning of the Maximilianstrasse you see the Max-Joseph Square framed by the Bavarian State Opera, the Munich Residence and the old post.
