Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz Poland in Only 3 Minutes HD
The Opera Nova is an opera house located in Bydgoszcz and established in 1956, which also plays the role of a musical theater. It is one of the 10 opera houses in Poland and the only one of this size in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. Opera Nova also welcomes the scene of the Bydgoszcz Buratino Puppet Theatre.
Opera Nova building is located in a bend of the Brda river between Old Town and Downtown Bydgoszcz. The opera House is connected with a footbridge over the Brda river to Mill Island (Polish: Wyspa Młyńska): from the surrounding terrace it overlooks Bydgoszcz Cathedral, and Mill Island's granaries and mills.
The building, by its own size, stands out in the architectural environment of the city centre: it has 6 levels, covers an area of 24 432 m2, has a volume of 120 700 m3 and a height of 34.19 m. Its location along the Brda river provides an opening to the Mill Island. The building, with its three connecting circles, affords optimal conditions for the realization of opera, operetta, ballet and musicals. Because of its original shape and position by the water, Opera Nova is often compared to the Sydney Opera House. The building has an illumination light system, one of Bydgoszcz hallmark by night.

Driving in Poland - Bydgoszcz city - old town, downtown & outskirts (2018, HD)
Wikipedia quote: Bydgoszcz - is a city in northern Poland, on the Brda and Vistula rivers. (…) It has been the seat of Bydgoszcz County and the co-capital, with Toruń, of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship since 1999. (…) The city is part of the Bydgoszcz–Toruń metropolitan area, which totals over 850,000 inhabitants. Bydgoszcz is the seat of Casimir the Great University, University of Technology and Life Sciences and a conservatory, as well as the Medical College of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. It also hosts the Pomeranian Philharmonic concert hall, the Opera Nova opera house, and Bydgoszcz Airport. Due to its location between the Vistula and Oder rivers, and the water course of the Bydgoszcz Canal, the city forms part of a water system connected via the Noteć, Warta and Elbe with the Rhine and Rotterdam. Bydgoszcz is an architecturally rich city, with neo-gothic, neo-baroque, neoclassicist, modernist and Art Nouveau styles present, for which it earned a nickname Little Berlin. The notable granaries on Mill Island and along the riverside belong to one of the most recognized timber-framed landmarks in Poland

Toruń,Poland was founded by the Teutonic Order, in the 13th century. The unique spatial layout of Toruń has remained unchanged for 700 years.
During the Middle Ages it developed a commercial role as part of the Hanseatic League. In the Old and New Town, imposing buildings from the 14th and 15th centuries (among them the house of Copernicus) are striking evidence of Toruń's rich past.
A Gothic town hall built in the late 14th century is the centrepiece of Torun’s old town. It is one of the biggest brick buildings of its kind in Europe. For centuries, it was the administrative and commercial hub of the city; it was near here that fairs were held, tribute was paid to the rulers, knights fought in tournaments, and the condemned were publically executed. Today, the building houses a district museum, where visitors can see local handicraft and Polish paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries.
One of the medieval tenements from the second half of the 15th century houses the Home of Nicolaus Copernicus, the astronomer who proved that the Earth does not sit at the centre of universe, but rather orbits the sun along with other planets.
Torun’s medieval city walls are the oldest in Poland. Their first section dates back to 1246-62. Almost from its very beginnings, the city was surrounded by two rings of defence walls separated by a wet moat. A single wall was only built along the Vistula riverside. A three-kilometre long section of Torun’s city walls had 54 towers, 12 gates and two barbicans proper. Nine towers and three gates have survived to this day.
An old Teutonic castle was part of the city’s defences alongside high walls, towers, and gates. Today, it is a favourite site for walks, theatre performances, and music concerts.
An attractive walking route is also Podmurna Street, Torun’s longest medieval street. This cobbled road is full of charming nooks and historic monuments. The street begins near the moat and the Burgher House, and weaves its way next to an historic granary, the Feline Head tower, and the Mint Gate.
Its 15-metre-high Leaning Tower constructed at the turn of the 14th century is inclined like the famous Tower of Pisa.

TORUN panorama
Toruń, one of the oldest and the most beautiful Polish cities. Here is the city famous for its remarkable monuments which have won the designation of the cultural heritage of mankind from UNESCO, as well as for its troubled and rich history. Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, the city is renowned for Nicolaus Copernicus and gingerbread.
Toruń, an old Hanseatic centre, during the nearly eight centuries of its rich history played a significant role in creating political, economic and cultural history and tradition of Europe. Toruń’s surviving material and cultural heritage provides a conclusive proof of the former economic and political power of the city which was situated at the intersection of long-distance land and water trade routes. Since its foundation, Toruń had gradually developed into an increasingly bigger European trade centre. As early as 1280, the city joined the Hanseatic League and maintained extensive and vigorous trade contacts with the whole of Europe, especially with Flanders, Westphalia, England, Red Ruthenia and Hungary.
Toruń’s Old Quarter is the world’s highest-class historical monument. Its spatial layout has survived intact since the Middle Ages. As a result, we can now admire the superb complex with its excellent mid-thirteenth-century urban solutions, which have remained unchanged for centuries.
To feel a medieval spirit and to see how do the real and original burgher houses, granaries, Gothic cathedrals look like one must visit Toruń on his own…
