Monterey introduces beer-to-table at Farmer's Market
For years farmer’s markets in California were alcohol-free zones, but a new law in effect this spring has changed that. Subscribe to KSBW on YouTube now for more:

RON PAUL CAN WIN! The mainstream media is trying to convince us Ron Paul can't win. We proclaim the opposite is true! Watch these video clips:
Excellent video explaining how to break the left / right paradigm. Yes Ron Paul is Republican but there is a reason the mainstream right AND left are against him.
Monterey Travel Guide | California Travel Tips
California travel expert Veronica Hill shares her Monterey Travel Guide in this episode of California Travel Tips.
Located two hours south of San Francisco and 5 1/2 hours north of LA, Monterey retains the charm of a small town while boasting some of the best dining, shops and attractions on the Central Coast.
Cannery Row, immortalized in the 1945 John Steinbeck novel, is one of Monterey's top attractions. Today, Cannery Row's sardine factories are now home to quirky shops, chain restaurants and posh hotels. Monterey Bay Aquarium, housed in historic Hovden Cannery, is a must-see attraction. A downstairs exhibit displays Steinbeck memorabilia and vintage sardine machinery.
For a fun day out with the kids, check out Old Fisherman's Wharf, originally built in 1846. It's a typical bustling pier, with million-dollar Monterey boats, fresh seafood, candy shops and amusements.
We stopped for lunch at Old Fisherman's Grotto, known for its fresh cracked crab and the best clam chowder in Monterey. I have to say, it lived up to its reputation.
For a great locals-style breakfast, pop in to Old Monterey Cafe on Alvarado Street.
Next, rent a surrey from Bay Bikes and explore Monterey State Historic Park, just a few blocks up the street. You'll find some of the best preserved adobes in California here, including Custom House, built by Mexico in 1827 for sea trading, and California's First Theatre, built in 1846 as entertainment for local sailors. California's first state constitution was drafted at Colton Hall in 1849.
When booking Monterey hotels, plan well in advance. The town books up quickly in September during the Monterey Jazz Festival and in June during the Monterey Blues Festival.
Looking out at the pristine protected waters of Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, it's easy to fall in love with this stunning coastal getaway.
With so much to do and see, Monterey is one of the best beach vacations in California.

Fremont Sunday Flea Street Market.
Fremont Sunday Flea Street Market. September, 2016.
Welcome to the Center of the Universe, Fremont. Seattle’s fun, year round European-style street market for brunching, vintage and treasure hunting, people watching, dog walking and one-of-a-kind amazingly cool stuff.
All Year Long: Rain or Shine!
The Fremont Sunday Street Market has an entire indoor area of antiques/used-items. There are also many artisans that sell their unique items in the outdoor section (especially dangerous for me in terms of beautiful, locally-created jewelry). There is even a poet who can write on any topic of choice! The food section for lunch has gotten bigger over the years.
Free street parking
Open Sundays from 10:00a - 5:00p year round
Located at the North End of the Fremont Bridge.

A Look into a SFSU's Vendor: A Family-Run Berry Farm (Watsonville, Calif.)
BY: SEBASTIAN MOLLOY
Jaime Medina’s family farm brings their berries from their farm in Watsonville to SFSU’s campus every Thursday. The berries 81-mile journey begins at 4 a.m., and arrive unharmed in time for SFSU’s farmers market.
The market has an official 10 a.m. opening time, but many stalls are set up and ready to sell prior to that time.
“We try to get there as early as possible,” said Jaime, “the berries are sweetest and freshest in the morning.”
At just 30 acres Medina farms is a small farm growing an assortment of seasonal berries. A family owned farm for 4 generations, it recently earned its organic certification from Santa Cruz Counties office; a process which requires the land be free from all substances listed on the National List for a minimum of 3 years prior to the organic harvest.
“We’ve been working towards this for I believe almost 7 years now,” said Jaime Medina, 25, the fourth-generation farmer.
The family takes great pride and joy in farming, a notion that when expressed almost resembles a romantic relationship with the land. All actions are carefully planned out and calculated to afford their land enough respect so it will recover in time for the next cycle.
Throughout the process large amount of respect and love can be witnessed between everyone working the farm, old, new, young or old — and at the end everyone’s invited to commemorate their work together.
“At the end of the week we all come together for a big family dinner,” said Jaime.

Pacific Grove
Pacific Grove, California is one of the most beautiful places to live. As America’s last hometown we celebrate “PG” for it’s charm, classic landscapes, coastal access, historical architecture and naturally for it’s legacy as a monarch sanctuary. This short film features the lifestyle of locals in the community and the places we love; like our local organic restaurants and historical sites such as the Point Pinos Lighthouse. Outdoor adventures on the recreational bike path right along the Pacific Ocean, yoga, picnicking, tide pooling and gathering as a community to enjoy music and healthy food. Pacific Grove is a refuge for rejuvenation, offering lovely beaches for surfing and children including Lover’s Point and Asilomar state beach, all apart of the incredible Monterey Bay Sanctuary and just minutes down the path from worldwide renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium. Wild ocean life such as otters, whales, and seals can be seen right from the shoreline that circumnavigates the Monterey Peninsula. Our Certified Farmers Market offers organic produce from Salinas Valley and Santa Cruz County. We feel blessed to live in such a beautiful community on the California Coast and celebrate this sweet hometown video with original song by native musician Josh Hollinger, directed by Michelle Magdalena Photography and shot and edited by Christopher Johnson. Special thanks to Travis Geske for his incredible Aerial footage.
