LAFD Structure Fire: FS66 - South LA
Los Angeles Fire Department Battalion 13 (and 11) companies were dispatched to a reported structure fire at the 5000 blk. of S. Gramercy Pl.
Task Force 66 was first on scene of a one story detached garage with smoke and fire showing, with an updated address one block west on S. Wilton Pl.
Battalion 11 arrived on scene and assumed Gramercy IC, Truck 66 reported a fire that started in a shed and extended into a one story converted garage.
Units due: Battalion 11, Task Force 66, Light Force 26, Engine 46, Squad 21, Rescue 46, Rescue 846 & Rescue 266.
28 firefighters knocked down the blaze in 18 minutes.

Authorities are investigating the cause of a raging fire in a 25-story residential high-rise Wednesday in Los Angeles that left eight people injured, including a 3-month-old, the city's fire department said.
Right now, we're labeling this a suspicious fire, Los Angeles City Fire Chief Ralph Terrazas said.
Arson investigators were on the scene, combing through debris and speaking with witnesses, public information officer Erik Scott said in an afternoon news conference. Investigators were looking into whether the fire could have been related to a similar blaze two hours earlier and three blocks away.
Right now, there's no information that they are connected, Deputy Chief Justin Eisenberg said. The only reason we would look into that is because they're close ... in time and proximity.
Terrazas initially said authorities had a suspect in custody, but Eisenberg later said no one was in custody. Eisenberg did not say whether a suspect had been held earlier in the day.
It's very, very early in this investigation, Eisenberg said. We don’t know really whether we have an arson or an accident at this time.

LAFD Task Force 33 Working A Garage Fire
Los Angeles Fire Department Task Force 33 and Rescue 833 handle a contents fire within a detached abandoned garage. This property had burned a few days prior. La Placita Olvera Field Trip September 26, 2016
Here is a short video of our educational field trip to La Placita Olvera. We got to see some historical artifacts as old as the 16th century (the crucifix of Jesus Christ found inside the Avila Adobe), some awesome political artwork by Ernesto Yerena, a great display on Mexican Americans in Southern California Baseball @ La Plaza de Cultura y Arte, and we got to listen to Incan inspired flute player from Peru. Students even got to eat at a very traditional Mexican Restaurant. On this day the Firehouse was closed as well as the Chinese American Museum but we can always come back next year.

Huge Fire in Downtown Los Angeles Destroys Storage Area
rmgnews.com. A huge fire just south of Downtown Los Angeles destroyed a building used to store furniture. Flames could be seen from the 10 freeway as this fire consumed the entire building. The owner woke to what he thought were fire crackers only to quickly discover flames coming from the rear of his house. Luckily no one was injured in this inferno.
