Ópusztaszer National Heritage Park - from the air 4K/UHD
The Ópusztaszer National Heritage Park is an open-air museum of Hungarian history in Ópusztaszer, Hungary. It was established in 1982 and is most famous for being the location of the Feszty Panorama, a cyclorama depicting the arrival of the Hungarians to the Carpathian Basin in 895.

After the Integral European Conference we went on the Magical Mystery Tour through Hungary. One of the highlights was the outdoor museum of Hungarian History in Ópusztaszer. Historic buildings re-erected here, an amazing 3D painting and ancient customs: here you see men on horseback in competition, and the women near the yurt
From magical pots to horse skulls and sacrificed dogs - ritual deposits in Medieval Hungary
During the decades long archaeological research of early medieval rural settlements throughout the Carpathian Basin numerous ritual deposits were found, the scholarly interpretions of which sometimes differed greatly. Common lack of data about their exact archaeological context also left them open for predetermined opinions. Were they building sacrifices or part of fertility rituals? Can they be seen as remains of heathen belief systems, or do they mirror superstitions of medieval folk Christianity - or witchcraft? Can some of the dog sacrifices be attributed to Kipchaks, and thus have an ethnical aspect? Instead of looking for exclusatory answers we must see such findigns in a broader context, considering their numerous Bronze and Iron Age paralels and relations with Christian simbolism as well.

Lions Youth Exchange Camp Hungary 2013 Day 4
On the fourth day we visited the Hungarian national heritage park in Ópusztaszer. Besides getting to know more about the Hungarian customs and history we also watered the tree which was planted by Lions two years ago.

A film akár a szombathelyi iskolásoknak is jól kiegészítheti a tananyagot.
