Here in the capital city of New Zealand, you can enjoy a beach within reach. You don’t have to go far to enjoy the sound of rustling waves or to walk on white sand. Oriental Bay is glorious on a sunny day. One of the favourites of our kids to go on a Sunday morning.

Wellington, New Zealand, scenes from Oriental Bay beach. This beach is very near the CBD, just a 15 minute walk. Today was bright, sunny and relatively warm. As a result, there was a good crowd at the beach, doing some sun tanning. New Zealand! Kia Ora!
A Stunning Spring Day At Oriental Bay, Wellington, New Zealand
Oriental Bay is a suburb of Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand. Located close to the CBD on Wellington Harbour, it has the closest beaches to the central city and is thus a popular spot both for living and for visiting.
Oriental Bay is situated against the northern slope of Mount Victoria, 1.5 kilometres southeast of the city centre, at the start of a coastal route which continues past Hataitai around Evans Bay. The suburb was named after one of the first ships to bring settlers to Wellington.
In the summer months, Oriental Bay becomes a hive of activity. The beach is consumed with swimmers, party goers and families. The Carter Fountain is a distinctive feature in the Bay, as is the wooden barge which is often covered in swimmers.

New Zealand Honeymoon || Exploring Wellington - Oriental Bay, Te Papa, & Botanic Gardens
November 10, 2019
We woke up in our campground in the town of Ashhurst, and despite the cemetery next to us and the natural disaster alarm going off at 2 am, we had a great night of sleep!
The rain started on our drive South to Wellington, the capital of New Zealand. I desperately needed a shower so thank goodness Owen surprised me with a cute AirBnb in Oriental Bay.
We explored Wellington, despite the rain, and had amazing food and drinks on the water. We explored a couple exhibits at the Te Papa Museum and I honestly don't think I have ever been so impressed by a museum. It is free admission and still one of the coolest things I saw while in New Zealand!
We ended our night taking the Wellington Cable Car up a huge hill to get a great view of the city below, and we walked back to our AirBnb through the Botanic Gardens.
We also planned many of our South Island adventures because tomorrow, we head SOUTH! :)

Malam pergantian tahun di pusat kan di area Lagoon, dekat juga dengan area Oriental Bay ini. Jam 8 malam sdh ada acara musik gratis, panggung, screen, lampu2 nya keren. Pokoknya di situ jauh lebih meriah n keren. Tapi aku lebih pilih yg sepi krn nggak suka dgn ramai2 berisik .
