Sneak Peek: Beauty and the Beast
“Beauty and the Beast”
By Brandon Roberts
Based on the traditional fairy tale by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve
June 16 – July 24, 2016 at Orlando Shakespeare Theater
Set in an enchanted castle in a far away land, “Beauty and the Beast” spins a magical tale where a young beauty has been locked away by a terrible Beast. The young woman’s honest and enduring love for the unsightly Beast ultimately becomes a gift of kindness that brings magical results. From the team that created Orlando Shakes’ “The Frog and the Princess” comes a bold new telling of the classic French fairy tale.

Hallelujah Flash Mob @ Orlando International Airport
On December 18, 2010 at 4:00 PM
History was made at the Orlando International Airport
Flash Mob performs 'Hallelujah'
Jeff Weiner from the Orlando Sentinel reports:
It was no spontaneous eruption of holiday cheer, though it may have inspired one. It was what's known as a flash mob — a planned outburst of organized activity in a public place, generally intended to break up the status quo.
During the OIA flash mob, members of the Messiah Choral Society were joined by members of the Bach Festival Choir in a rendition of the Hallelujah chorus. The mob was the brainchild of United Arts of Central Florida President Margot Knight and Carolyn Fennell, OIA's director of public affairs.
According to media reports, flash mobs of various types have been attempted at airports in the past, including one by Southwest Airlines employees at Chicago's Midway Airport this month. However, the phenomenon had yet to touch down at Orlando's airport until Saturday.
We've done [entertainment] with the airport for 20 years, but no flash mobs, Knight said. This is the first.
