Shree Rajneesh (born Chandra Mohan Jain, 11 December 1931 – 19 January 1990), also known as Osho, Acharya Rajneesh,[or simply Rajneesh, was an Indian Godman and leader of the Rajneesh movement. During his lifetime he was viewed as a controversial mystic, guru, and spiritual teacher. In the 1960s he travelled throughout India as a public speaker and was a vocal critic of socialism, Mahatma Gandhi, and Hindu religious orthodoxy. He advocated a more open attitude towards human sexuality, earning him the sobriquet sex guru in the Indian and later international press, although this attitude became more acceptable with time.
In 1970 Rajneesh spent time in Bombay initiating followers known as neo-sannyasins. During this period he expanded his spiritual teachings and through his discourses gave an original insight into the writings of religious traditions, mystics, and philosophers from around the world. In 1974 Rajneesh relocated to Pune where a foundation and ashram was established to offer a variety of transformational tools for both Indian and international visitors. By the late 1970s, tension between the ruling Janata Party government of Morarji Desai and the movement led to a curbing of the ashram's development.
In 1981 efforts refocused on activities in the United States and Rajneesh relocated to a facility known as Rajneeshpuram in Wasco County, Oregon. Almost immediately the movement ran into conflict with county residents and the State government and a succession of legal battles concerning the ashram's construction and continued development curtailed its success. In 1985, following the investigation of serious crimes including the 1984 Rajneeshee bioterror attack, and an assassination plot to murder US Attorney Charles H. Turner, Rajneesh alleged that his personal secretary Ma Anand Sheela and her close supporters had been responsible.[8] He was later deported from the United States in accordance with an Alford plea bargain.[9][10][11]
After his deportation twenty-one countries denied him entry, and he ultimately returned to India, and a reinvigorated Pune ashram, where he died in 1990. His ashram is today known as the Osho International Meditation Resort. His syncretic teachings emphasise the importance of meditation, awareness, love, celebration, courage, creativity, and humor—qualities that he viewed as being suppressed by adherence to static belief systems, religious tradition, and socialisation. Rajneesh's teachings have had a notable impact on Western New Age thought, and their popularity has increased markedly since his death

मेरी अपनी समझ में तो नृत्य भी पहली बार ध्यान में ही जन्मा है। मेरी समझ में तो जीवन में जो भी महत्वपूर्ण है उसके कहीं मूल स्रोत ध्यान से संबंधित हैं। मीरा कहीं नाचना सीखने नहीं गई। और लोग सोचते होंगे कि मीरा ने नाच—नाचकर भगवान को पा लिया, तो गलत सोचते हैं। मीरा ने भगवान को पा लिया इसलिए नाच उठी। बात बिलकुल दूसरी है
नाच—नाचकर कोई भगवान को नहीं पाता। लेकिन कोई भगवान को पा ले तो नाच सकता है। और जब समुद्र गिरे बूंद में, और बूंद नाचने न लगे तो क्या करे? और जब किसी भिखारी के द्वार पर अनंत खजाना टूट पडे, और भिखारी न नाचे तो क्या करे?
ध्यान से दमित व्यक्तित्व का विसर्जन:
लेकिन सभ्यता ने मनुष्य को ऐसा जकड़ा है कि वह नाच भी नहीं सकता। मेरी समझ में, दुनिया को अगर वापस धार्मिक बनाना हो तो हमें जीवन की सहजता को वापस लौटाना पडे।
तो यह हो सकता है कि जब ध्यान की ऊर्जा जगे आपके भीतर तो सारे प्राण नाचने लगें, उस वक्त आप शरीर को मत रोक लेना। अन्यथा बात वहीं ठहर जाएगी, रुक जाएगी; और कुछ होनेवाला था, वह नहीं हो पाएगा। लेकिन हम बड़े डरे हुए लोग हैं। हम कहेंगे कि अगर मैं नाचने लगू मेरी पत्नी पास बैठी है, मेरा बेटा पास बैठा है, वे क्या सोचेंगे, कि पिता जी और नाचते हैं! अगर मैं नाचने लगै तो पति पास बैठे हैं, वे क्या सोचेंगे, कि मेरी पत्नी पागल तो नहीं हो गई।
अगर ये भय रहे तो उस भीतर की यात्रा पर गति नहीं हो पाएगी। और शरीर की मुद्राओं, आसनों के साथ—साथ और बहुत कुछ भी प्रकट होता है।....

Osho Silence Valley is an endeavour of a group of young Osho Sanyassins who have created a buddha field to evolve themselves according to the vision, philosophy, techniques and therapies of Osho.
The 32 acre commune is located at the foot hills of the Himalayas in a dense forest, 5 km away from the city of Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India.
Commune offers accommodation for 50 people and has mediation hall for about 100 meditators at a time.

OSHO International Meditation Resort – A Meeting Place of Friends
The OSHO International Meditation Resort in Pune, India is a unique destination for people from more than 100 countries.
The campus provides an opportunity for a direct individual experience of a new way of living – with more awareness, relaxation, celebration and creativity – as a participant in one of the OSHO Living In Residential Program that are available as follows;
You can stay on campus for 7 (The Week Within), 14 (Meditation Plus), or 30 days (Multiversity Plus) attending 3, 6 or 12 OSHO Multiversity Course days respectively.
For example Multiversity Plus includes participation in the 21-day OSHO Mystic Rose or the equivalent of 12 full days in OSHO Multiversity courses.
OSHO Zen Experience
Again, for 7, 14, or 30 days you can explore the Meditation Resort at your leisure, with an optional program guidance service.
Creative Living
This is a three-month residential program bookable in monthly segments, where participants are part of Work as Meditation program in the Meditation Resort. A unique opportunity to integrate being present and aware, the essence of meditation, in our daily lives, whether at work or play.

Chandra Mohan Jain, the eldest of eleven children of a cloth merchant, was one of India's most original, and yet simultaneously controversial spiritual minds of the past century. A critic of Mahatma Gandhi as well as socialism, Rajneeth, or Osho as he was widely known, preached the need for simultaneous consideration of internal and external riches, claimed sexual liberation was paramount to mindfulness and created several expansive luxury communes to broaden and develop the study of such ideas.
The guru didn't, however, stop there- his attempts to spread the cult into American society drew heavy criticism after senior officials within the movement attempted mass Salmanella poisoning with the hope of influencing elections. Such incidents haven't stopped the crowds from coming though- the movement has gained popularity even since his death in 1990.
In this short documentary, we take a tour of Osho's place of rest and commune and talk to just some of the disciples form around the world who have found faith in the guru's teachings.
