Hello, my name is Zack, and I like to (*don't forget the pause*) backpack around the world! I am from Memphis, Tennessee. I have had the travel bug my whole life. I used to go on month long trips with my grandparents to Western USA when I was a kid. Fast forward to summer 2013, we went to Disney World and I went to the Canadian Pavilion at Epcot and saw the O' Canada 360 Circlevision film and I was like, I want to go to Canada!. Summer 2014 I took a roadtrip up to Toronto, Ontario. Since then I've been traveling around the world.

Copenhagen - Public Transport - Østerport Station Tour 2015 08 01
My wife, my mother-in-law and my father-in-law took a long weekend to Copenhagen by train from Stockholm.
Østerport station is a major station north-east of the city centre of Copenhagen. It's very useful for access to Kastellet. The station is served by the S-tog and regional trains.

A Walk Around Central Railway Station, Copenhagen, Denmark
Copenhagen Central Station is the main railway station in Copenhagen, Denmark and the largest railway station in Denmark, although Nørreport Station has a larger passenger throughput if urban S-train and Metro services are included. It is situated between the districts of Indre By and Vesterbro with entrances from Bernstorffsgade (at Tivoli Gardens), Banegårdspladsen, Reventlowsgade and access to platforms from Tietgensgade.
Copenhagen Central Station is the hub of the DSB railway network serving Denmark and international destinations. It offers InterCity and Express trains services across Denmark, as well as services to several international destinations, regular and frequent regional train services to and from Zealand and southern Sweden (also referred to as Øresund trains). The station also services the Copenhagen S-train network, but the S-train system in Copenhagen doesn't use any kind of hub at all. It is an urban transit which differs from most Metro systems mainly by being a type of railway. At the station are two platforms with four tracks that are used by the S-trains only. All other trains usually use the other four platforms and eight tracks.

The first railway station in Copenhagen was built in 1847, approximately at the present station location. It served Roskildebanen, and it was made of wood because it was built outside the fortifications where buildings with foundations were not allowed. An expansion was soon necessary due to plans to extend the railway network in Denmark. A new larger station, designed by H. J. Herholdt, opened in 1864.
The second station also proved too small, especially because there was only one track leading out of the city. It was decided to build a new station, including a tunnel to Østerport station, and with tracks out of the city to the south. Designed by Heinrich Wenck, the present station was finished on 1 December 1911. The tunnel (the Boulevard Line) was opened in 1917.
The station was overhauled in 1980. Escalators and lifts were established to the platforms, and the station concourse, which was originally split into arrival, departure, and freight sections, was redone completely. The station was overhauled again from 2004 to 2008. This overhaul replaced the roof, lowered platforms 3 to 6 to international standards and lengthened them. The towers and the bridge over the platforms, upon which the main station building is placed, were reconditioned.
Copenhagen Central Station is the main railway station in Copenhagen, Denmark, and the largest railway station in Denmark

Østerport Station - DSB S train & IC3 Regional train Copenhagen - S tog & regional tog i København
We are at Østerport Station (Osterport Station) in Copenhagen where there is an IC3 Intercity train is waiting at the opposite platform. At the same time a typical Copenhagen public transport S-Tog (S-Train) bound for Køge (Train Line A) arrives and departs from the station. The Danish S-Trains or S-Tog as they are called in Danish are electric trains. These trains have passenger carriages and even special bicycle and pram carriages. DSB stands for Dansk Stats Baner, in English Danish State Railways. Watch out for the new train departure information systems which also features in this video.

Denmark S Train Line H Frederikssund to Osterport Дания
Copenhagen, Denmark - Vesterport Station (2018)
Vesterport Station is a S-train station in the city centre of Copenhagen, Denmark. The station is situated below ground level on the Boulevard Line, just before the tunnel connecting Copenhagen Central Station and Østerport Station. Opened on 15 May 1934.
Copenhagen is the capital and most populous city of Denmark. The city has a population of 775,033 (as of January 2018), of whom 613,288 live in the Municipality of Copenhagen and the Copenhagen urban area has a population of 1,308,893 (as of January 2018). Copenhagen is situated on the eastern coast of the island of Zealand; another small portion of the city is located on Amager, and is separated from Malmö, Sweden, by the strait of Øresund. The Øresund Bridge connects the two cities by rail and road.
Originally a Viking fishing village founded in the 10th century, Copenhagen became the capital of Denmark in the early 15th century. Beginning in the 17th century it consolidated its position as a regional centre of power with its institutions, defences and armed forces. After suffering from the effects of plague and fire in the 18th century, the city underwent a period of redevelopment. This included construction of the prestigious district of Frederiksstaden and founding of such cultural institutions as the Royal Theatre and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. After further disasters in the early 19th century when Horatio Nelson attacked the Dano-Norwegian fleet and bombarded the city, rebuilding during the Danish Golden Age brought a Neoclassical look to Copenhagen's architecture. Later, following the Second World War, the Finger Plan fostered the development of housing and businesses along the five urban railway routes stretching out from the city centre.
Since the turn of the 21st century, Copenhagen has seen strong urban and cultural development, facilitated by investment in its institutions and infrastructure. The city is the cultural, economic and governmental centre of Denmark; it is one of the major financial centres of Northern Europe with the Copenhagen Stock Exchange. Copenhagen's economy has seen rapid developments in the service sector, especially through initiatives in information technology, pharmaceuticals and clean technology. Since the completion of the Øresund Bridge, Copenhagen has become increasingly integrated with the Swedish province of Scania and its largest city, Malmö, forming the Øresund Region. With a number of bridges connecting the various districts, the cityscape is characterised by parks, promenades and waterfronts. Copenhagen's landmarks such as Tivoli Gardens, The Little Mermaid statue, the Amalienborg and Christiansborg palaces, Rosenborg Castle Gardens, Frederik's Church, and many museums, restaurants and nightclubs are significant tourist attractions. The largest lake of Denmark, Arresø, lies around 27 miles (43 kilometers) northwest of the City Hall Square.
Copenhagen is home to the University of Copenhagen, the Technical University of Denmark and Copenhagen Business School. The University of Copenhagen, founded in 1479, is the oldest university in Denmark. Copenhagen is home to the FC København and Brøndby football clubs. The annual Copenhagen Marathon was established in 1980. Copenhagen is one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the world.
The Copenhagen Metro launched in 2002 serves central Copenhagen while the Copenhagen S-train and Lokaltog (private railway) and the Coast Line network serves and connects central Copenhagen to outlying boroughs. To relieve traffic congestion, which is partly the result of increased traffic because of the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link road and rail construction is planned because the narrow 9-9.5 mile isthmus between Roskilde Fjord and Køge Bugt (Køge Bay) forms a traffic bottleneck. The Copenhagen-Ringsted Line will relieve traffic congestion in the corridor between Roskilde and Copenhagen.
Serving roughly two million passengers a month, Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup, is the busiest airport in the Nordic countries.

Copenhagen Central Station - Københavns Hovedbanegård - Copenhagen Trains
Copenhagen Central Station or as it is called in Danish Københavns Hovedbanegård (København H) is Denmark´s largest railway station. Copenhagen Station serves the common DSB S-Tog (S-Trains that operate in Hovedstades området / metropolitan area), Regional Trains and the Intercity Trains. The Copenhagen Metro is currently not connected to the Copenhagen Train Station but will be in around 2018 when the new City Circle Line is completed.
The present Copenhagen Train Station building was designed by Heinrich Wenck who was DSB´s (Dansk Statsbaner ( Danish State Railway) chief architect from 1894 to 1921. The station was completed on 01. December 1911.
The Copenhagen Central Station offers train passengers numerous smaller shops which include the 7-Eleven Kiosks, Postoffice, Subway Restaurant, a pub, Lagekagehuset etc. and of course a large ticket center which sells tickets for domestic and international rail. SJ (Swedish Railway) also offers a ticket office in the Copenhagen Central Station.
Hope you are able to get a feel of the atmosphere at Københavns Hovedbanegård with this video footage. Have a nice journey.
