THE HOGS // Mountain Biking Sedona Arizona
Here's a fantastic, but lesser known Sedona loop of Broken Arrow, High On The Hog, Hog Heaven and Hog Wash. We were absolutely beat from the beginning, but I had to share this ride! This is from November 2017, by the way.

Best Mountain Bike Trails in Arizona
Best Mountain Bike Trails in Arizona // Arizona is great to biking trails and can be an exciting way to get your adrenaline fix, or enjoy a calming bike at the weekend with your family.
With dramatic landscapes, varied terrain, and remote regions to explore, Arizona is a haven for mountain bikers. There are rugged and technical trails for experienced bikers, as well as easy trails that let beginners get some exercise and enjoy the scenery.
Hangover Trail, Sedona - Sedona is an absolutely beautiful place for hiking and mountain biking, but this trail should only be attempted by experienced riders who are willing to take on some risk. There are lots of mountain biking trails in the Sedona area, but the Hangover Trail is definitely one of the more unique ones. That’s because you’ll ride up to a saddle between two sections of red rock, ride along the narrow edge of a canyon, and travel on a steep cliff that’s a couple feet above the canyon floor. Although the singletrack trail is only about 3.2 miles long, it is very intense. Most of this trail is on slick rock, but it’s the exposed rock on the edge of a cliff that really requires you to be comfortable on a bike…and with heights!
50-Year Trail/Golder Ranch, Tucson - The Tucson area also has some excellent mountain biking opportunities, especially if you head over to the 50-Year Trail/Golder Ranch area. This is probably the best trail that this region has to offer because it has something for everyone. Beginners, intermediate riders, and advanced riders can all find something to enjoy and challenge themselves on this route. If you are just visiting the area, you can also stop by a local bike shop for a rental bike and get dropped off and picked up at the trail. Keep an eye out for sandy spots, snakes on night rides, and unexpected ruts. The trail is sometimes compared to the Honeybee Canyon Trail, but a more technical version of it.
Black Canyon Trail, Phoenix - One great mountain biking route near Phoenix is the Black Canyon Trail, and one recommended route starts at the Table Mesa Trailhead. This route goes on the Black Canyon Trail to the Little Pan Loop, and is part of a 62-mile trail system. The singletrack trail is recommended for advanced riders, and it’s a smart idea to carry a GPS or map to navigate the many branch trails that lead off of the main route. There are some long downhill sections on desert terrain, but be aware of the cacti that are pretty impossible to avoid. You can also start your journey at the Black Canyon City Trailhead near the Rock Springs Exit I-17 and go north or south from this point.
Pemberton Loop, Scottsdale - While many of the trails here are only suitable for intermediate and advanced riders, here’s a great one for beginners. The Pemberton Loop singletrack look extends 15 miles, and there are many different places you can start it. For a shorter ride, you can even cut the loop off by several miles by taking the Bluff Trail or Tonto Tank Trail. The desert trail is wide and fast, and there are spur trails you can take to make it longer. There are no huge climbs or descents on this minimally technical ride that’s very fun. This is also a good beginner trail because it’s well-marked with signs. Riders should know there is a wild horse population nearby, so you may encounter horses on the trail.

White Line Trail | Sedona | Scariest MTB Trail
Without a doubt, this is the scariest thing I have ever done.
In the lead up to my family holiday to Sedona this year, I found out that the White Line Trail would be a stone's throw from where we were staying. Then from that moment and for some stupid reason, I had the idea that maybe I could give it a go. You've got to wonder why particularly when you watch other peoples YouTube clips. Even so, I just couldn't shelve that idea.
As time drew closer, I would have hourly swings of I will, I won't but in any case, just couldn't shake the idea that this not technical, just scary trail could be ridden.
And then in the days before I strolled into the Over The Edge MTB hire shop in Sedona, I thought I had convinced myself that there would be no shame in not riding it. But that just didn't sit well with me.
So on the day, my route was designed to ride passed the White Line twice so I could grab an early look and then if insanity prevailed, I could have a go on the return.
After the initial pass and look at the craziness of that trail, I was not riding well. It wasn't that I was having a bad day, nor was the brand new 2019 Santa Cruz Bronson misbehaving (note to self - I NEED one). Every fibre of my being was preoccupied with preparing to be scared shitless for the return pass when I would foolishly just go up and take a look.
There really would be no shame to turn around and not ride the trail. For some, just the hike up would be enough. For me, after walking the trail 2 or 3 times and then having to sit down and think about whether I should do it, I decided to have a crack.
I'm really glad I did it but can confidently say that I won't be heading back in a hurry. If you decide to give it a crack, good luck and watch that front brake!
Enjoy the trails.

We start our ride from the Village of Oak Creek, towards Broken Arrow and Chicken Point trail.
This trail is very funny to ride, it has a lot of technical climbs and descents, drop offs and stairs, and a good flow.
The trail takes you to the top of some awesome slick rock with some great views.

Mountain biking Maricopa trail, Cave creek, AZ
Got the prime locals tour of the Maricopa trail from Kaolin Cummens and Dax Massey. Supper fun trail lots of up and down a bit primitive in places but I like that. Along with all the various cacti that are out to get you in this neck of the woods I was also introduced to cat claw, it happened to be overgrown on this day from rain and it had us all bloody by the end of the ride.

Singletrack - Chicken Ranch MTB Trail: Passing and Crashing
Chicken Ranch is a privately owned mountain bike/hiking trail near Crawfordsville, Indiana. For being a stereotypical flat state, this trail has a diverse terrain and plenty of hills. The track ribbons through the woods taking advantage of the topography at every turn. There is nothing technical, except to keep up your momentum and build off the dips to get over the next bump. I created this video with a GoPro Hero2 mounted with the chest adapter and edited it with the YouTube Video Editor. ( Enjoy!
Chasing Waterfalls, Hospitalizations, & Swinging Off The Edge Of The World In Banos, Ecuador Ep. 7
Hola everyone — thanks for chasing waterfalls, taking a trip to the emergency room, and swinging over the edge of the world with me!
As most of you already know, I am currently off budget backpacking through South America, and this vlog is apart of a whole South America travel series. Right now, I am backpacking in Peru. This travel vlog takes place in Banos, Ecuador or as I saw it, my lush Ecuadorian playground.
This travel vlog begins in Banos, Ecuador, where me and my two ladies are renting bikes for a 22 km ride to the many waterfalls the area had to offer. About 12 km into our ride, we met two others dudes who joined us.
First we arrived at the Devil's Cauldron or in spanish, the Pailon del Diablo, which was a massive and brilliant waterfall. We crawled through small rock corridors in search of the mouth of the falls, so we could get a little wet!
We continued biking to a few more waterfalls and crossed a couple of very sketchy swing bridges before jumping on a cattle truck back to Banos.
Next, we take a dramatic 12:00 AM trip to the Banos Emergency Room. It really didn't need to be so dramatic, but the local who was taking us there advised that go late, in order to avoid crowds. And that we did. There was no wait and NO COST.
This was the moment that I realized how messed up America is. The medicine I got would have cost me over $500 in the USA. I still can't figure out why it is more economical for me to fly to Ecuador to get treated, rather then go to my neighborhood doctor back in America.
Enough about politics.
We woke up early in an attempt to avoid crowds of tourists at the famous Casa Del Arbol. The swings are also known as the Swing at The Edge of The World. It was beautiful and so very grand.
One small drama occurred, however. There was a massive head butt, collision on the swings. Other then that, everyone was safe.
Actually, I spoke to soon. The hike down from the mountain top was treacherous. I mean, it was nearly straight down. One of the girls we were with had a very rough time and essentially slide down the mountain on her tush. She did sustain a few injuries.
Well, that's all she wrote for this time.
Thank you for watching, guys!

Crusty
The Crusty trail use to be called Second Coming by the local mountain biking community, but when the FS adopted a number of trails in the Soldier Wash area they changed the name to Crusty. There is still an upper section of trail above the Adobe Jack trail intersection that maintains the same gnarly character of the the original Second Coming trail.
