Oxnard Beach and Park California
What nice about Oxnard Beach Park is…. it’s not crowded. We had a chance to play in a grassy park just a few steps from the ocean. The most impressive about the park is the amazing playground. There are so many slides, climbing areas, nooks and crannies that your kids will enjoy. Considering this is just minutes from both the Channel Islands Harbor and Ventura Harbor, . this is a recommended destination.
Definitely we will go back here.

Oxnard Beach Park is a nice, flat, grassy park just steps from the ocean. But perhaps the most impressive aspect of the park is an amazing, nearly new pirate-themed playground. There are so many slides, climbing areas, nooks and crannies that your little ones will want to stay for hours. So between the short walk to the beach, the large grassy area and the playground, this is a great destination. Just minutes from both the Channel Islands Harbor and Ventura Harbor.

We’d love to tell you all about why every beach is great, but that would take all day. So, instead we chose the top three beaches in Oxnard to highlight: Silver Strand, Oxnard Beach Park and Hollywood beach.
Silver Strand
A favorite of locals, Silver Strand Beach has something to offer every beach goer’s needs. For water babies that are new to swimming, check out the kiddie beach portion. Sheltered from waves by a jetty and protected with a safety net, kiddie beach is a safe place for new swimmers to frolic in calm waters and get their sea legs. For more experienced beach goers, the mile-long beach of “the Strand” has choice waves for surfing, boogie boarding, body surfing and more. During low tide in the fall months, spend some time exploring the water’s edge- it’s a great place to find some sea glass and shells as a souvenir!
Oxnard Beach Park
A family friendly space, Oxnard Beach Park is the place to play all day in the California sunshine. Complete with a pirate themed playground, grills and picnic tables-this 60-acre park allows you to go from sand castles and swimming to a clean family picnic in a few steps. Bring a blanket and cuddle up on top of one of the rolling sand dunes to see a brilliant sun set to end your day.
Hollywood Beach
Hollywood beach got its name in the roaring twenties when it was a popular weekend getaway destination for Hollywood movie stars. Now a quiet local hang out spot, Hollywood Beach is an expansive area that is perfect for laying out in the sun and spotting marine wildlife.

Bicyling Around the Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard
When the temperatures are in the 80s and 90s in the Conejo Valley we often enjoy the 15 to 20 degree cooler temps at the Channel Islands Harbor. Here we rode bikes around the harbor on a summer day.
Another low key cycling option with the kids is the bike path near Oxnard Beach Park; in fact, you can ride from there to the Channel Islands Harbor. More at
