2017 FIFA Confederations Cup Park opens in Moscow
The 2017 Confederations Cup Park has opened in Moscow 49 days ahead of the event, with French football legend Marcel Desailly attending the event. Desailly said he expects Russia’s main rehearsal before the 2018 FIFA World Cup to be “an amazing tournament.”

Four American presidents are taking up residence in Moscow.
A theme park being built in the Russian capital will feature a replica of one of America's most famous landmarks, Mount Rushmore, where former U-S presidents are carved into rock.
The German company behind the project believes the site in Gorky Park will become one of the biggest theme parks in the world.
Abraham Lincoln was lying on his side in Gorky park Tuesday morning, in the chill of cold weather instead of the political frost of the Cold War.
The giant plastic replica of Mount Rushmore, featuring four of America's former presidents, will be the centre piece of the new amusement park.
The German site supervisor thinks the presidents have a rosy future in Gorky Park.

Fan matches played in football park on Moscow's Red Square
(25 Jun 2018) Teams of World Cup supporters on Monday played in fan matches at the temporary football park opened by Moscow authorities on Red Square.
Fan teams from Denmark, France, Germany and Russia all took part in friendly matches, with the Denmark v France match proving particularly high-scoring, as the Danes won 8-0.
As all the matches went on, other fans cheered their teams on from the stands.
The park, known as the 2018 FIFA World Cup Park of Football and Recreation, will remain on Red Square until 15 July, having opened on 21 June, according to the official website.
It has been hosting events like Monday's fan matches, as well as autograph sessions with professional players and football masterclasses, according to the official website.

Drone buzzes soviet 70s architecture legend in Moscow
Ruptly drone catches spectacular footage of Moscow's Ring Building. There are two of that kind in Moscow, this was built in 1979 and designed by architect Evgeni Stamo and engineer Aleksander Markelo. The pair put a new spin on the grey multi-story style that came to dominate so many architectural endeavours in the 60s and 70s by simply linking one tower block with another, helping produce these amazing aerial shots.

Formed in Germany right at the end of the sixties by guitarist Rudolf Schenker, the Scorpions released a number of successful albums in the seventies before exploding globally in the eighties and early nineties with hits such as Rock You Like A Hurricane and Wind Of Change.
This concert was recorded in 2000 with the world famous Berliner Philharmoniker orchestra. It contains a string of Scorpions classics such as Big City Nights, Dynamite, Wind Of Change and Still Loving You, performed by the band with full orchestral support.

Save the Dream joined forces with the Qatar 2022 organisers, the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), and Ooredoo to host a star-studded football legends match at Majlis Qatar, in Gorky Park, Moscow.
Save the Dream ambassadors Christian Karembeu, David Trezeguet, Didier Drogba, Honey Thaljieh and Karina LeBlanc played in the matches alongside women and children from Russia.
The matches were organised to highlight Save the Dream’s vision of creating a world where every child and young person has the opportunity to play sport safely and learn from its values of integrity, respect and inclusion.

Усадьба Царицыно история
Местность получила нынешнее название Царицыно в XVIII веке. А до этого именовалось Чёрная Грязь. Окрестностями владели бояре Стрешневы, затем Голицыны. В 1712 году Петр І пожаловал эти земли бывшему молдавскому господарю князю Дмитрию Кантемиру.
Екатерина ІІ обратила внимание на местность во время конной прогулки по окрестностям Коломенского, тогдашней летней царской резиденции.Из Коломенского она на лошадях поехала прогуливаться по окрестностям. И когда подъехала сюда она была потрясена очень красивой природой. Императрица Коломенское не любила. Обветшавший деревянный дворец казался ей не соответствующим венценосному статусу. Екатерина купила Черную Грязь у сына Кантемира за него 25 тысяч «рублев».
Строить новый летний дворец Екатерина поручила своему любимому архитектору Василию Баженову. Великий зодчий тогда и представить себе не мог, что главное дело его жизни обернется самой горькой трагедией. И с жаром принялся за работу. В ходе строительства дворцового комплекса возводились попутно разнообразные мелкие сооружения в его окрестностях. Лес и берега прудов преобразовывались в парковую зону с беседками, купальнями, декоративными мостиками.
Строительство требовало немало денег. Нередко Баженов выходил за рамки сметы, и ему приходилось тратить собственные средства. Из-за финансовых проблем имение жены архитектора и дом в Москве пришлось продать. Так Баженовы переехали в казенный домик в Царицыно.
Усадьба строилась более 10 лет. Императрица Екатерина Великая приехала сюда с проверкой не с парадной стороны, а сзади, где еще не все было готово. Царицу устроили в павильон, из которого она наблюдала торжественный праздник сенокоса. По легенде, при осмотре дворца Екатерина не обнаружила ни одного туалета. Итог инспекции: Екатерина приказала разобрать резиденцию до основания и возвести новое здание. Ни один правитель еще не позволял себе такую расточительность – разрушить полностью отстроенный дворец. Причины столь странного поступка императрицы до сих пор остаются темой для бурных дискуссий. Одна из самых популярных версий гласит, что Екатерину смутило обилие в декоре дворцового комплекса масонских знаков.
Строительство нового дворца поручили Матвею Казакову – ученику Баженова. Дворец был еще не достроен, когда умерла императрица. А взошедший на российский престол Павел І проектом почему-то не заинтересовался. Имение постепенно приходило в запустение.
В 1803 году Александр I открыл Царицыно парк для летних загородных гуляний москвичей. А спустя несколько десятилетий недалеко от дворцового комплекса началось строительство дач и постепенно заселялась московским чиновничеством, а также творческой интеллигенцией
В XIX веке казаковский Большой дворец, баженовские постройки перестраивались, разрушались, некоторые покрывались мхом, обрастали кустарниками. К XX веку Царицыно окончательно пришло в упадок. После революции в Царицыне поселился пролетариат. В хлебном доме учредили коммуналки - чуть больше 30 метров на семью. Печное отопление, удобства во дворе, за водой нужно идти на колонку, - условия далеко не царские.
Царицыно на протяжении десятилетий было местом, где собирались самые разные люди. Это были и масоны, и толкинисты, и хиппи, волейболисты и шахматисты.
Почти 60 лет с 1930-х по 90-е годы Царицынские развалины были главной тренировочной площадкой советских скалолазов. Здесь вообще вся Москва лазала. Дворец был очень живописными руинами. Это было самое таинственное место Москвы.
В Царицыно сохранилось очень много подлинного. Это по-прежнему памятник архитектуры XVIII века. Здесь есть потрясающий архитектурный декор волшебной готики. Первые попытки сделать из усадьбы музей появились в 1960-м году. После передачи комплекса в собственность Москвы в 2005 году начались масштабные реставрационные работы, и через два года Царицыно было реконструировано полностью.
Экскурсии по Москве в Царицыно могут стать настоящим экскурсом в историю. Это любимое место отдыха москвичей. Царицыно включает одноименный дворцово-парковый ансамбль, памятник архитектуры XVIII века, и прилегающие к нему Царицынские пруды и пейзажный парк. По площади это крупнейший музейный комплекс Москвы, по значимости – один из самых важных.

Russia: 'Road of Courage' parade displays military hardware in Moscow
The first parade of Russian and Belarussian armoured vehicles, dubbed the 'Road of Courage' kicked off in Victory Park, in Moscow, Saturday.
The event was organised by the pan-Russian Military-Technical society. According to the organisers, the goal of the event is to strengthen the historical and cultural ties between two brother counties.
The chairman of the Military-Technical Society Alexei Migalin stated that his organisation's goal was to instil love for the motherland and for technology as well as to understand it from inside and how it is arranged.
About 15 military units, including armoured reconnaissance patrol vehicles BRDM-2 and BRDM-1, armoured transporter BTR-40 and BTR-152, as well as other military trucks and vehicles, were exhibited in Victory Park and later departed to the route of the Great Patriotic War to Belarus. The vehicles are supposed to travel from Moscow to Brest and back with stops in 10 Russian and Belarussian cities, as Odinstovo, Mozhaisk, Smolensk, Orsha, Minsk, Bereza, and others. The total length of the route is about 2,300km (1,429mi).
Throughout the ceremony, a priest consecrated the military equipment with holy water to salute the memory of the Great Patriotic War heroes. The organisers of the event laid a floral wreath next to the monument of the eternal flame, paying tribute to the war heroes.

A sports festival took place in Moscow's Sokolniki Park on Monday, to coincide with nationwide Russia Day celebrations.
Russia Day is a national holiday that marks the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic on June 12, 1990.
