Chiang Mai Mountain Sanctuary - Full Day Elephant Tour
Hiking with elephants!
Thanks to PM Tours for setting us up for the Full Day Tour with the Chiang Mai Mountain Sanctuary. This was by far the best thing we did in Thailand! We learned how to feed them, made medicine and fed it to them, and hiked for 6km with our own elephant. How cool is that?
I can't believe I didn't do this last time I was in Chiang Mai earlier this year. This is something everyone should do while in Thailand, but please do not go to the elephant riding tours, it's inhumane.
Please check out for more information.

Exploring Chiang Mai on Frank's bike was fun. Riding in the Side-streets and major roads of the city was a good experience.
I went inside the Chiang Mai University campus and loved its ambience. It was different from Delhi University, but more close to JNU or Jawaharlal Nehru Univerisity, New Delhi, where I graduated from. Being a Mass Communication graduate, I thought of visiting the Mass Comm department in this university. I did the same when I stayed in the Dhaka university campus in 2015. CMU's Journalism department reminded me of my diploma days in Indian Institute of Mass Communication - IIMC, New Delhi.
Later I visited the walled city of Chiang Mai which is a major tourist attraction. I just kept on cycling in the streets of the old Chiang Mai city. Later on I went to Doi Suthep and saw the mesmerising view of Chiang Mai city from the hill top.

Five Days in Chiang Mai - We Got to Hike with Elephants!
This was my second time in Chiang Mai this year, in March I visited Chiang Mai, Siem Reap, and a bunch of cities in Vietnam with my friends Chris and Joel. Chiang Mai was my favorite city from that trip, unfortunately the only one in Thailand we visited.
This time, Chiang Mai was our 4th city of our 6 city trip to Singapore and Thailand. I didn't realize that Chiang Mai was so cheap compared to most of the rest of Thailand. Patong and Koh Yao Noi were both almost double for everything so my uncle and I ran out of cash before arriving in Chiang Mai.
We spent 4 nights here, since it was my favorite city last time, I wanted to spend the most time there on this trip. We stayed right by the Night Market, my favorite spot for late night food. We had a couple of tours lined up thanks to PM Tours pm-tours.com
The Smile Organic Farm Cooking School - Thai Food Half Day Course
and the Chiang Mai Mountain Sanctuary - Full Day Elephant Tour
Both tours were great, but we did enjoy the elephants more. Hiking with the elephants was so cool, the best thing we did in Thailand! If you're ever in Chiang Mai, be sure to check it out, it's totally worth it.
We spent a lot of time at the night food markets, I had a lot of my favorite dishes, pra ka pow mostly, and a whole bunch of mango smoothies. It's just so cheap, hard to believe what you can get for under $2.00.
Oh we also got a massage at the place that has the ex convict women giving massages, it was only $6.00 for an hour. But it wasn't very good, they're not highly trained like other places we went in Thailand, although those places were $9 to $15 per hour, but well worth the extra cost.
Our time went by so fast, it was already time to take the bus to Chiang Rai. I never took the bus before so I didn't know they sold out, we got to the bus station and had to wait for the 3rd bus from the time we wanted, got the cheapest class for only $4.00, a 3.5 hour ride. It wasn't bad, just a bit cramped since I had the one fat Thai person in the country sitting next to me crowding my space!

Then, drive to visit The Golden Triangle where the three countries meet (Thai, Burma and Laos). In the afternoon, visit Mae Sai, the Burma border where you can enjoy shopping at your leisure. On the way back, visit Yao and Akha hill tribe villages.
Thailand Travel Vlog | Part 2 Chiang Mai + Chiang Rai + Elephant Sanctuary | Escapade 2019
For Part 2 of Three Men in Thailand we explored the rural side of the country. We fed and played with some cute and magnificent elephants, visited and were amazed with sanctuaries, and felt the fresh water of waterfalls. Of course we continued the food trip and have met new friends from all corners of the world that made the tour more memorable. Three Men in Thailand then became Three Men in Myanmar and Laos as we explored the neighboring countries and were equally amazed with the sites we visited! This tri-country tour has been the best!
Where the Thai people eat - 7 Pm in my Chiang Mai Nighbourhood
Into the Wild Elephant Camp
At Into the Wild in Chiang Mai the elephants are free to do what they love the most as they roam in the vast forest, play contentedly in the refreshing river and enjoy their long lives post retirement. We recently established our camp with their well-being in mind and they have returned to their natural habitat, the serene jungle of Northern Thailand.
Street Food in Thailand - NIGHT MARKET Thai Food in Chiang Mai, Thailand!

T-shirts and caps:
One of the top things to do in Chiang Mai is walk around and eat through one of the many Chiang Mai night markets - I think Chiang Mai might be the capital of night markets in the world. There’s a night market for every day of the week and some of them stretch longer than you can see.
At night markets in Chiang Mai you’ll find a huge selection of things to buy, from clothes and antiques to even entertainment like music and Thai massage. But for food lovers, the best thing about visiting any Thai night market is the food.
On Sunday night in Chiang Mai the most popular night market is Tha Pae Walking Street (ตลาดท่าแพ) - it really is an entire street that shuts down for a couple of kilometers, and the entire street is filled with things to look at, buy, and eat. Most of the food is set up in designated area, especially in the small courtyards of temples.
In this Thai street food tour of Chiang Mai, the plan was just to walk around and see what looked good to eat.
Here’s what we ate:
Sai krok Isaan (ไส้กรอกอีสาน), Sai ua (ไส้อั่ว) - This impressive cart was filled with different varieties of Thai sausage, both Isaan style sausage, and Northern Thai herb sausage.
Total price - 30 THB ($0.91)
Pork meatballs (ลูกชิ้นหมู) - I’m usually not a huge fan, but these 100% pork meatballs were pretty tasty.
Price - 40 THB ($1.21)
Pork ham (หมูยอ) - After meeting up with my friends Tom, Joel, and JJ, they had already been snacking on some moo yaw, a Vietnamese style ham sausage.
Grilled egg (ไข่ป่าม) - This is a unique Northern Thai food, of grilled egg.
Price - 30 THB ($0.91)
Sticky rice (ข้าวหนุกงา) - One of the Thai snacks I had never tried before were sticky rice patties. They were interesting and quite tasty.
Price - 20 THB ($0.61)
Pork ribs (ซี่โครงหมู), Crab egg custard (อ่องปู) - We saw the ribs being grilled and couldn't’t resist. They were alright, but the paddy crab egg custard was more unique.
Price - 180 THB ($5.46)
Durian (ทุเรียน) - Finally, although a little overpriced, and not season, we couldn’t resist a little nugget of durian to end this Chiang Mai night market Thai food tour.
Price - 200 THB ($6.06)
Featuring Tom from Chaseki Tea ( and Joel (
