The Pacific Asia Museum In Pasadena, California
USC Pacific Asia Museum is an Asian art museum located at 46 N. Los Robles Avenue, Pasadena, California, United States.
The museum was founded in 1971 by the Pacificulture Foundation, which purchased “The Grace Nicholson Treasure House of Oriental Art” from the City of Pasadena. Grace Nicholson donated the structure to the city for art and cultural purposes in 1943 and was a dealer in Native American and, later, Asian art and antiques. It houses some 15,000 rare and representative examples of art from throughout Asia and the Pacific Islands. In 2013, the museum became part of the University of Southern California.
The building, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, was built in 1926 and designed by the architectural firm of Marston, Van Pelt & Maybury. It is designed in the style of a Chinese imperial palace and features a central courtyard with a garden, a small pool, and decorative carvings.

I captured a few of the exhibits I found most interesting (even though they had THOUSANDS). There were paintings, sculptures, gardens, lily pod ponds and other cool stuff to look at. I even captured a GORGEOUS colorful sunbeam in the gardens which was the most beautiful exhibit of all because it was God's handiwork! Thanks for watching and please thumbs UP! ????

Indigenous culture and colonization[edit]
The original inhabitants of Pasadena and surrounding areas were members of the Native American Hahamog-na tribe, a branch of the Tongva Nation. They spoke the Tongva language (part of the Uto-Aztecan languages group) and had lived in the Los Angeles Basin for thousands of years.[21] Tongva dwellings lined the Arroyo Seco (Los Angeles County) in present day Pasadena and south to where it joins the Los Angeles River and along other natural waterways in the city.
The native people lived in thatched, dome-shape lodges. They lived on a diet of acorn meal, seeds and herbs,venison, and other small animals. They traded for ocean fish with the coastal Tongva. They made cooking vessels from steatite soapstone from Catalina Island. The oldest transportation route still in existence in Pasadena is the old Tongva foot trail, also known as the Gabrielino Trail, that follows the west side of the Rose Bowl and the Arroyo Seco past the Jet Propulsion Laboratory into the San Gabriel Mountains. The trail has been in continuous use for thousands of years. An arm of the trail is also still in use in what is now known as Salvia Canyon. When the Spanish occupied the Los Angeles Basin they built the San Gabriel Mission and renamed the local Tongva people Gabrielino Indians, after the name of the mission. Today, several bands of Tongva people live in the Los Angeles area.

The Pasadena Museum of California Art (PMCA) is an art museum located in Pasadena, California, USA, showcasing art and design that originates from California. The museum was founded by long-time Pasadena residents and art collectors Robert and Arlene Oltman. The Ground was broken in 2000 and the museum officially opened in June 2002.
The museum does not house a permanent collection, but instead features changing exhibits. Altadena- is an unincorporated[4] area[5] and census-designated place in Los Angeles County, California, United States, approximately 14 miles (23 km) from the downtown Los Angeles Civic Center, and directly north of the city of Pasadena, California. For qualified scholars, the Huntington Library is one of the largest and most complete research libraries in the United States in its fields of specialization.
The Library's collection of rare books, manuscripts, prints, photographs, maps, and other materials in the fields of British and American history and literature totals more than six million items. Only a tiny portion of this number is on display at any one time, divided between the Main Exhibition Hall and the smaller West Hall.
Among the items on permanent exhibit are the Ellesmere manuscript of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, a copy of the Gutenberg Bible on vellum, the double-elephant folio edition of Audubon's Birds of America, and an unsurpassed collection of the early editions of Shakespeare's works.

Following the Box is an art exhibit influenced by a collection of found photographs taken in West Bengal, India by an unknown U.S. soldier towards the end of WWII. The photo exhibit is a visual conversation between people from India and United States across space, time and culture, a mystery tale of old photographs and a celebration of new artistic interpretations.

When it comes to being a snob, there are all types. You’ve got music snobs, instagram snobs, wine snobs, and of course, political snobs.
And yes, there’s even city snobs, as in ‘I’m better than you because I live in a particular city.’
The goal today is to see which cities have the most snobs of all. We’re gonna get a little bit of every type of snob in America. Some west coast liberal snobs, southern charm snobs, east coast political snobs, and of course, the smarty pants snobs.
To determine the snobbiest states in America, we had to measure snobby things, based on the number of snobby factors in each metro area. You know, the places where people are wealthy, live in big homes, attend theaters, shop at organic markets, and send their kids to private school. We even measured which states have the most college graduates.
Most of these cities have a lot of snobby, elitist people who make snobby their hobby.
So turn up your pinkies as we go through America’s Snobbiest Cities.
10. Washington, DC
Ah, look at what we have here. Our first stop we make drops by the home of the wealthy east coast elite, the Washington DC snob. Otherwise known as the social status snob.
Oh, and here are their snobby little children.
In DC, it’s very important that you make sure everyone knows you have plans for the weekend, that you’ve been to the latest restaurant to open in the neighborhood, and that you have a maid, laundry service, or food delivered every night.
9. Boulder, Colorado
Would you believe that the average home cost in Boulder is $630k a year? It’s true. Being able to afford to live here alone creates a certain level of snootiness among the Colorado elite. Many have described Boulder as an outdoorsy, hippie aristocracy.
8. Seattle, California
Let’s take a peek into the lives of the west coast snob. This is a newer creature who perhaps made his or her money in tech or a startup. The Seattle snobs complain about the homeless, and the cost of living, but they’re part of the problem themselves.
Of course, there’s a lot of Coffee snobs here in Seattle, home of the snobbiest culinary restaurant on earth, Starbucks. But Seattleites will look down on your pumpkin spice latte in favor of the offblend Egyptian variety they got at whole foods or at the farmers market.
And, Nordstrom is headquartered here. That’s so snobtastic.
7. Charleston, South Carolina
There are art museums and private schools up the wazoo in Charleston. And in case you didn’t know, the cost of a house in Charleston proper is more than us regular 99 percenters can afford.
Plus, downtown Charleston has perhaps the highest concentration of snobby retail in the nation.
Just a quick search shows us places like Louis and J Crew.
6. Pasadena, CA
Pasadena calls itself crown city, which means they are coronating themselves as elitists. Here you’ll find the 3rd highest number of private schools in the nation, 4th most theaters per capita, and one of the wealthiest enclaves in the country, too.
What, you haven’t heard of this fine place, Pasadena? Have you ever watched the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day? That’s in Pasadena.
5. Berkeley, CA
Berkeleyites are so much smarter, more sophisticated, progressive, and way more learned than you and I. In fact, Berkeley was called the 5th brainiest city in the entire country by a somewhat reputable source we found on Google.

Have you ever been to LA? As if. This is the center of all that is snobberific. Even downtown LA, which used to be a total dump, is on the snob upswing. Places like West Hollywood, West LA, Brentwood, Westwood, Pacific Palisades, Manhattan Beach, Playa Del Rey...there are snobs all over the place.
3. Portland, Oregon
Spend a weekend in Portland, and you’ll run into all sorts of people in the snob family tree. There’s wine snobs, coffee snobs, beer snobs, farmers market snobs.
2. Cambridge, Massachusetts
There’s one big reason Cambridge is on this list. It starts with an S and ends in MART. These folks are just geniuses. They’re spoiled with culture, too.
Not only do families in Cambridge command relatively big salaries, over two-thirds of the residents in Cambridge have a college degree. This is home to Harvard University, after all.

The median home price here is $1.7 million. And that’s the median price. Those were the home prices when I wrote this, you can bet they went up again by the time you’re watching this video.

You can see Luxe hotel, which is in the Holiday Inn building, You can see a lot of new buildings getting build all over the downtown.
Then you see how the sunset hits the city.
You can see Los Angeles Disney Hall, 19:00 time mark, which is a home to some annoying symphony orchestra, which always puts posters of their conductor, waving the stick and looking like dripping hair gel all over the floor.

Koreatown is a neighborhood in Central Los Angeles, California, centered near Eighth Street and Western Avenue.
Koreans began immigrating in larger numbers in the 1960s and found housing in the Mid-Wilshire area. Many opened businesses as they found rent and tolerance towards the growing Korean population. Many of the historic Art deco buildings with terra cotta facades have been preserved because the buildings remained economically viable for the new businesses.
It is the most densely populated district by population in Los Angeles County, with some 120,000 residents in 2.7 square miles. The 1930s saw the height of the area's association with Hollywood. The Ambassador Hotel hosted the Academy Awards ceremony in 1930, 1931, 1932, and 1934.
Senator Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1968 at Ambassador Hotel. About this time, the surrounding neighborhood began a steep decline
After most of the hotel structures were demolished, the Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools were built on the site with the first opening in 2009.
The once-glamorous mid-Wilshire area with vacant commercial and office space attracted wealthier South Korean immigrants in the 1960s. They found inexpensive housing and many opened businesses there. The relaxed federal immigration rules following the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 resulted in a growing immigrant community. Many of the Art deco buildings with terra cotta facades in the area were preserved because they remained economically viable with the new businesses that occupied the structures.

Old Pasadena, often referred to as Old Town Pasadena or just Old Town, is the original commercial center of Pasadena, a city in California, United States that arose from one of the most prosperous areas of the state, and had a latter day revitalization after a period of decay.
Old Pasadena began as the center of an industrial hub that gave rise to Caltech, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Beckman Instruments, Aerojet and numerous other important companies.[citation needed] The large concentration of such companies in the area gave it the nickname Athens of the West.
The area was also an artistic center, the home to Andy Warhol's west coast debut, the Pasadena Museum of Modern Art (one of the earliest modern art museums in the country, now the Norton Simon Museum), and before that a center of suffragist and pacifist movements, and other liberal causes. By the late 1940s, the downtown area was blighted by flophouses, dive bars and pawn shops. It later became a hippie destination, with head shops, adult bookstores and massage parlors. By the late 1980s, Old Pasadena was undergoing a period of urban renewal and regeneration.
