Thru-singing the Pacific Crest Trail - American Pie
Between 8 May and 2 October 2019, I hiked the 2,653 mile Pacific Crest Trail, walking the length of the United States through California, Oregon, and Washington. I also carried a guitar with me and used it to create this little project along the way. Enjoy!

Day 54, August 31, 2017
Hello Everyone, I thru hiked the Pacific Crest Trail last year in 2017 and these are my videos from my amazing adventure. I will be releasing a video for almost everyday I was on trail, which was 172 of the best days of my life!
Hope this big series will be helpful in planning your own PCT thru hike in the future.
Enjoy and Happy Trails Everyone!
Started my SOBO PCT trip on July 9th 2017 and ended it on Dec 27 2017
Cameras I was using,
4K Sony Action Cam FDR X3000 for my video and for my stills I was using my Sony a6000.
They both performed really well!
In case anyone is wondering about the gear I brought out, I made a gear video before I started my thru hike. Here is the link

The Pacific Crest Trail in Three Minutes
This video shows Mac, from hiking the entirety of a Pacific Crest Trail thru-hike from the US/Mexico border to the US/Canada border across 2,660 mi / 4,200 km through California, Oregon, and Washington.
I created this version in response to my first video, The Pacific Crest Trail (Three Second Thru-Hike), I have recut the footage into a more compact format with updated music.
I hope this video continues to spread the beauty of the PCT and share its glory with hikers and dreamers alike.

Day 7 of my Pacific Crest Trail Southbound Flipflop and I'm somewhere in Calpine, California. After hiking uphill for hours through a green tunnel with no view, I came upon this amazing piece of geological wonder. What an interesting planet we live on. Enjoy the video!

Boy was it freezing and WINDY! But absolutely stunning. P.S. Sorry about all the wind noise. I've fixed it for the videos I'm shooting now. This video is part of a series titled We are all Adventurers.

** This video is a re-edit and re-upload of a previous hiking video that was muted due to copyright issues. When I initially made this video, it wasn't necessarily with the intention of sharing it so widely so I used music that I liked but didn't have the rights to use for distribution. I decided to re-edit the video instead of just leaving the muted version up; however, I ran into an issue because I had already deleted all of the original footage. Long story short, I basically had to edit over the original video so I some places the audio is pretty back due to the combination of existing music and the wind (I hadn't yet discovered the miracle that is a wind muff). I still think it turned out pretty good and thought I'd share it with ya'll.
This community on Youtube has been incredible in giving support and advice as I learn as I go. I have so many wonderful things I plan to share with you in 2017 so stick around!

REBOOT LIFE -- We're creating a minimalist nomadic adventure series as we try to live a life worth living - every day!
We are Karma and Scott from Sweden/ New Zealand. We choose to live a simpler life. When we are not living in a tent out exploring the mountains or out on a long-distance hike, we live in a van. Our nomadic minimalist lifestyle allows us to experience a lot while working as little as possible and living more.
Are you living the life you really want to live? If not, then you owe it to yourself to do something about it. We call it a reboot.
We share our reboot and our passion for the outdoors (hiking, tramping, climbing, mountaineering), adventure (exploring the world) and a minimalist nomadic lifestyle (vanlife, long-distance hiking) with you here on our channel and on our website and blog,
At the moment we are thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), a 4265 km walk from Mexico to Canada in the Western United States.
We are living our dream and hope to inspire you to live your dream too!

PCT 2017 - We Arrive at the PCT Campsite in Idyllwild CA
Day 7 of my Northbound Pacific Crest Trail shakedown hike with my service dog puppy Jake. We finally arrived at Idyllwild, California. I was happy to buy an official PCT baseball cap, which I am wearing in the video. The PCT campsite was only a few dollars and there were all kinds of goodies to raid in the hiker boxes. I got a second set of trekking poles identical to the ones I own and use! I also got a nice SOL bivy from another hiker. Although there were only a handful of PCT hikers, including myself, they were all super nice and friendly. And I had finally escaped those biting flies!

hiking Pacific Crest Trail above Soledad Canyon | 3 April 2010 | part 1
This video depicts a hike on Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail undertaken 3 April 2010. The hike begins where the trail crosses Soledad Canyon Road. I hiked down the ramp from the road, crossed the terrace on the south side of the Santa Clara River, crossed the river and then crossed the railroad tracks on the north side of the river, and on up the trail into the mountains north of Soledad Canyon.
Along the way I observe the local Metrolink train passing by on the tracks, pass hikers heading south on the trail coming from Vasquez Rocks County Park, discuss the identifying characteristics of breccia (a type of sedimentary rock), make observations of the fluvial geomorphology found along the trail and view spring wild flowers. In part 2 I discuss the general geography of this area from a vantage point overlooking Soledad Canyon, manzanita, and lenticular clouds.
A fantastic trail to say the least.
