Pacific Southwest Railway Museum at Campo CA. (w/ Packards) 1986
Oct. 5, 1986: Includes a train ride behind SD&A MRS1 1809 North (RR East) from Campo to a siding where the power runs around the train for the return trip. A Packard car club was meeting that day. I understand that this museum has changed and expanded dramatically in the 31 years since this video was taken. It was great then!
Pacific Southwest Railway Museum - January 2019
On Sunday January 20th, 2019. My dad and I made it out to the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum. Though it appeared to be a slow day for them, I was still able to get plenty of action in this short video. I hope you all enjoy!
Pacific Southwest Railway Museum Excursion -- 4/15/2000
In April, 2000, I traveled to San Diego for a railfan excursion at the San Diego Railroad Museum now known as the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum. The facility is located about 50 miles east of downtown San Diego in Campo and uses former San Diego and Arizona Eastern trackage. The excursion was comprised of two segments with the morning trip behind SP #2353, a 1912 Baldwin 4-6-0. In the afternoon we rode behind SP #3873, a GP9 in the classic black widow paint scheme. The video features several run-bys showing the steamer pulling passenger coaches in the morning and several freight cars in the afternoon.
Pacific Southwest Railway Museum
This 3 minute video highlights your family visit to the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum in the eastern mountains of San Diego County in Campo. Your family will enjoy a real 12 mile roundtrip train ride to the tunnel at the border with Mexico, with views of the backcountry and wildlife. Before or after your train ride, the museum has walking paths with railway equipment and signage to inform you on the history of railways. The Display Building entrance is included in your train ride ticket, and inside you will discover steam locomotives, restored passenger cars and a wonderful interactive exhibit titled Signal Science where you will learn and see how railroad signals work. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy outside on the tables and the swings for the kids. Visit for schedules and entrance costs. Operated by the volunteers of the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum. Donation from Todd and Mason Clark Family of the Signal Science Exhibit. See you soon in Campo.

I held the Brakeman crew position on the charter train as it completed a single round trip from Campo to Canyon. Meanwhile, the Valley Flyer worked its shuttle excursion route within Campo Yard Limits.

PSRMA Bunny Train 4/13/19
Pacific Southwest Railway Museum's annual Bunny Train pulled by Southern Pacific GP9R #3873. The operations department decided to orient the locomotive on the west end of the train, a rare occurrence in recent years due the lack of a runaround at the western terminus of the excursion route.

Golden State Train at the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum
Here is a video I made of the Golden State Train at the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum in Campo, CA. The line the museum runs its trains on is part of the former San Diego and Arizona Railway right of way. The San Diego and Arizona Railway ran trains from the early to mid 20th century on the line. The line runs from El Centro, CA to San Diego, CA via Mexico. Today, the only trains that run on the right of way are the Museum's train and the MTS San Diego Trolley UC San Diego Blue Line (from Downtown to San Ysidro). Enjoy!
In this video, the train consisted of SDAX 7285, 1 baggage car, and 1 coach car.
