Boca Chica Snorkeling Tour Panama
Excellent 4 hours Snorkeling Tour at Boca Chica in Panama with beautiful empty beaches and perfectly white sand.
Bocas del Mar is simply the best place from the mainland to access the breathtaking beauty of the Gulf of Chiriqui Marine National Park with its unspoiled islands of tropical jungle. The National Park covers 60 square miles (155km) of islands and ocean, and is known for its green iguana lizards, humpback whales, dolphins, many species of turtles, stingrays, monkeys, and hundreds of types of exotic birds and tropical fish. See local area map.
From our private dock we can arrange everything; from island-hopping in water taxis across to local ‘islas’ or leisurely, daily scheduled trips in our very own 26ft (8m) comfortable excursion boats. For example, try the popular 4 hour Discovery Boat Trip. With our local captain at the helm, explore the hundreds of gorgeous sandy coves fringed with palm trees. You’ll soon realize why the locals say that “Panama belongs to the sea”.
Daily scheduled trips to white sand beaches & tropical islands
Beach hopping & picnics – we have many to choose from just a short hop away
Snorkeling and fish spotting

Taboga Island on a Catamaran - Panama
If you want to have an awesome time on a day trip with great people, I highly recommend contacting Dorothee with Coronado Concierge. This trip to Taboga Island was so much fun.
They hired a private bus driver who drove SAFELY (not something all bus driver's do). We boarded small boats at Punta Chame to get out to the catamaran where we'd spend the day taking in whales, dolphins, birds and we feasted on delicious food.
Got to swim a bit in the ocean just off the island until the winds picked up and the rain came.
The catamaran had to swing around to the other side of Taboga so we could pick up the people who'd gone ashore by boat. Once the stormy weather passed, we made our way back in the late afternoon.
I moved to Panama from the US in the spirit of adventure and living a better quality of life. Are you ready to make some big changes in your life but don't know where to start? Let's chat about working together - as your coach, I can help you create goals aligned with your values and help you take the steps to reach them.

Beaches & Nature Adventure San Blas Islands Panama • San Blas Dreams
We are very happy to present this new tour, an exclusive from San Blas Dreams, we have worked for several months with our certified Guna guides and along with our customers we have experienced this path day after day, to make it unique but at the same time suitable to as many people as possible, we are the only ones to who make this tour on the San Blas Islands.
The tour includes a stay of at least 2 nights, available in the Shared Cabin and in the Private Cabin, from the Ina Island where you will sleep, we will discover the Pelican Island (where the Netflix series La Casa de Papel 3 was filmed), then we will do a plunge into the marvelous and crystalline natural pool and finally arriving on the Demar Achudup island.
It is in the second day that the absolute exclusivity of this tour will happen, we will visit the Guna Community of Rio Sidra (Urgandi), here we will make a stop of about 30 minutes where we will visit the school and the health center of the small community, from here we will start to discover the Guna jungle, crossing the Rio Sidra river or also known as Rio Masargandi, during the journey we will make a very small stop in the cemetery of the Rio Sidra Community and our guide will explain its history. Along the way you will be able to see colorful butterflies, various species of birds and with a bit of luck you will be able to see some Toucans. After about 40 minutes walking we will finally arrive at the beautiful Saiba Waterfall (we recommend comfortable shoes for the walking route) where you can dive and enjoy 100% the spectacle that nature has to offer in this wonderful place.

Panama, country of Central America located on the Isthmus of Panama, the narrow bridge of land that connects North and South America. Embracing the isthmus and more than 1,600 islands off its Atlantic and Pacific coasts, the tropical nation is renowned as the site of the Panama Canal, which cuts through its midsection. It is equally well known for its natural beauty, for its diverse plant and animal life, including hundreds of bird and tree species, and for its vibrant music and culture.

Tour PC1-615 | Panama Canal, Panama 6 hours, $164 from Island Princess
Isla Palenque, Panama | The Island Interns | Kotowa Coffee Tour
You've never taken a more important coffee break in your life.
To read the Island Interns' account of their coffee tour, visit
On a lush mountainside in Panama's Chiriqui province, the Kotowa coffee estate stands as a testament to Panamanian history, sustainable agriculture, and superior coffee. It's a heady brew, and one that owner Ricardo Koyner's family has been perfecting for 4 generations over the last 100 years.
Purveyors of fine coffee commend Koyner on his dedication to keeping his family's time-honored traditions of sustainability alive in every roast. The Kotowa coffee farm and adjacent factory are renowned for producing some of the most sipworthy java on the planet -- ranking #4 among the world's best coffees -- as well as for high yields and uncompromising quality, which can be difficult for an organic producer to achieve year after year. But for someone who takes coffee as seriously as Ricardo Koyner, showing respect for the environment is an intrinsic part of the growing process.
Anyone who takes a tour at Kotowa leaves with the flavor of fine coffee lingering on their tongue and words of praise lingering on their lips. One TripAdvisor reviewer recalled the experience as a lesson in how a big, successful business can also be incredibly environmentally and socially responsible.
Sustainable Stats at Kotowa:
1 liter of water used per pound of coffee produced (most other mills use up 10-20 liters of water per pound of coffee produced)
All byproducts of milling (pulp, wastewater) go into the production of organic fertilizer used on Kotowa coffee farm
Hand in hand with respect for the environment is the Kotowa commitment to respecting the local community. With housing, triple pay, and schooling for the kids, it's easy to see that excellent labor incentives lead to excellent products, says Island Intern Ben Brown of his experience touring the Kotowa coffee farm.
At Kotowa, visitors receive a fresh cup of welcome from everyone involved in making the world's best coffee found in Panama: the Koyners, the harvesters and coffee mill workers, and the local tour outfitters. Naturally, everybody takes a great deal of pride and pleasure in bowling over visitors with the potent blend of Panamanian history, sustainable farming techniques, and exquisite coffee varieties to be experienced at Kotowa.
Although they have only lived in Panama since 1998, the Dutch duo of Terry and Hans van der Vooren know Panama like it has always been their home, and they certainly share it with others as if that were the case.
We love to show off the wonders of Panama's nature, and it's always a joy to see the reaction of somebody who discovers the excellence of Panamanian coffee, the van der Voorens say on their website.
This husband-and-wife team runs Coffee Adventures, a local touring outfitter in Boquete that operates Kotowa coffee tours in addition to offering other adventure touring options in the area, including birding tours of the nearby Sendero de los Quetzales.
Their 3-hour Kotowa coffee tour takes you on a journey from on-the-tree coffee fruits to in-your-cup specialty joe. You'll spend the entire final hour of this touring option inside the charming historic mill (the oldest coffee mill in Panama!) basking in the aromas and flavors of several varieties of Kotowa's world-renowned coffee.
Consider yourself warned. With a memorable coffee tour such as this one, you may leave Kotowa a coffee snob -- as well as a connoisseur of one-of-a-kind travel experiences.
To plan your tour, email Hans & Terry van der Vooren at info@coffeeadventures.net.
Panama Canal Full Transit in 5-minutes, Cruzando el Canal de Panama en 5 minutos
The Celebrity Infinity was making its way from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean through the Panama Canal. This video was taken from a fixed position on the top deck of the cruise ship for more than 10 hours. It shows the whole route and operations with short explanations. The length of the video was reduced to less than 6 minutes.
President Theodore Roosevelt built Panama Canal and used the Army Corps Engineers to complete the project. The main reason for the canal was to reduce the cost and distance by not having to travel around the tip of South America for another approximately 5,000 miles. The secondary reason is for security of the country, to be above to move the navy ships quickly between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

Cala Mia Boutique Resort, Boca Brava Island Eco Hotel, Gulf Of Chiriqui, Panama, Vacation
While Panama's Pacific and Caribbean coasts are starting to crowd up with behemoth resorts, happily there is still sanctuary to be found in the Gulf of Chiriquí, a seductive sliver of Central America. Look no further than Isla Boca Brava, a sparsely populated fragment of land that has seemingly snapped off the Pacific coast. It is one of the largest of the islands in the Gulf of Chiriquí.
Cala Mia Resort, fully renovated in 2014 is a romantic and intimate private retreat located on the tip of the pristine Boca Brava Island, within the National Marina Park of the Chiriqui Gulf. Cala Mia’s 11 bungalows are perched on the tip of a rocky promontory on the island's east coast. Set in landscaped gardens filled with towering palms and tangles of tropical blooms they overlook two idyllic bays flanked by mangroves and dense forest. A permanent natural soundtrack of crashing waves, crickets, geckos and howler monkeys quickly set in. Other local critters and sea life include iguanas, ocelots, raccoons, jaguars, coyotes, ant eaters, dolphins, whales, sea turtles and numerous tropical fish.
At this secluded Panamanian hideaway you can start your day with yoga by the beach, before taking a boat to a spit of sand to snorkel over dazzling reefs. Other days can be spent kayaking through mangroves, riding along deserted beaches on horses and hiking in the rainforest with an indigenous Ngöbe-Buglé guide. You can spend you time lounging by the infinity pool watching the Cobalt-blue Ocean or just relaxing at Bar Luna Azul watching the pacific tide rise and fall or take a trip to the rustic Spa Cielo that is perched on top of a rocky outcrop reached by a rope bridge; provides complete spa services.

Isla Palenque, Panama | A Beach for the Adventurous | The Resort at Isla Palenque
To keep up with the discoveries on Isla Palenque, visit
My first morning on Isla Palenque, she seemed shy (or that could have been me). I set out on a day of solo exploration -- just me and the island -- with a beach walk to a jungle bluff at the East end of Playa Palenque. Normally, the beach wouldn't be my starting point... I've never considered myself a beach person. And by that I mean that I don't fly across the world to lie in a lounge chair with my eyes closed.
Playa Palenque changed my perception of the beach vacation. Perhaps it's because there's not another person in sight, or because it backs up to a fascinating mirage of green jungle, or because it's flanked by towering volcanic bluffs -- but Playa Palenque has me rapidly shedding my preconceived notions of beaches, as well as my shyness: this is a beach worthy of exploration. My feet find their way to stretches of sand as fine as if it came from an hourglass, and accordingly the common meaning of time spills out onto the beach to be shaped by the tides and colored by the sunsets.
My journeys around the world have taught me that travel is not a spectator sport, and I've learned to choose destinations where I am not held back by a piece of yellow tape or corralled into a tourist queue. This island is perfect; there are no sidelines, and when I hit the bluff at the end of the beach, I start climbing without a moment's hesitation.
Atop the bluff, I stand among the roots of a tree that must be over a hundred years old: an ecosystem in and of itself, covered in flowering plants and vines, its branches home to frogs, birds, and butterflies. Up here I feel a sensation I haven't felt since my childhood's summer days spent marching through the woods, feeling reality melt fluidly into the fantastical lands found in bedtime storybooks.
As children, we're allowed the luxury of experiencing the world raw and unedited, with all 5 senses. I think this is to help us understand important things about our world very quickly, relying on the tactile to teach us what it would take much longer to explain in words.
Some people drift away from their curiosity as they age. It happens to the best of us: the pressures of adult life sometimes crowd out the wonder we knew as children. But through travel to extraordinary destinations that invite us to explore by touching, listening, tasting, absorbing as much as we can, in as many different ways as we can -- we are reawakened to the vibrancy and texture of our world, and emerge from the experience with as many novel insights as an inquisitive child at the end of an adventure-filled day. Fortunately, undiscovered places still exist where the natural landscape rewards curiosity and engages your inner child. I find myself in one of these places right now, on Isla Palenque.
I can't wait for tomorrow, to see what this alluring island has in store. From Playa Palenque's exhilarating welcome, it's going to be an incredible month.
