Jairek surprised me with a birthday trip to hold a baby panda in Chengdu China. This is the only place in the world where you can hug a panda!!!
Dream trip come true!!
Chengdu was filled with very friendly people and a chill vibe. We loved exploring the sites and sample interesting food :) But the Panda Research Center of Chengdu was by far the best experience ever in all my trips to China!!

You can get to the Chengdu Panda Research Base easily! Jump on the metro to the Panda stop. There's a very cheap shuttle bus from the metro that will drop you right at the entrance to the Panda Research Base.

Sichuan is a province known for spicy food, adorable pandas, and apparently beautiful women. (according to our tour guide)

SEEING PANDA’S IN CHINA & THE GIANT BUDDHA FROM CHENGDU | Backpacking China Vlog 2
Chengdu is home to the Panda Research and Breeding Centre in China. This is one the places I was most looking forward to visiting in China and it did not disappoint.
As part of my 25 Day China Loop Tour with The Dragon Trip we stayed at Mrs Panda Hostel which I really enjoyed and on our first morning headed to see the famous Panda’s in China. We got to see Baby Panda’s, Giant Panda’s and even Red Panda’s and it was a truly incredible experience. They really are so cute and very dopey!
The Leshan Giant Buddha is another popular places to visit in China and it’s just a few hours away from Chengdu so I took a public bus from Chengdu to Leshan to see the Buddha. The Giant Buddha in Leshan has been carved into the rock face where 2 rivers meet, it’s very impressive and it is very huge!
We climbed to the top and then waited in the queue to go down to the Buddha’s feet before talking the stairs back up to the top.
Chengdu really surprised me, it’s a nice city and there are lots of things to do in Chengdu making it a great place to visit on a backpacking trip around China and a great second stop on my The Dragon Trip Tour!

We Hugged Pandas in Chengdu, China!
I've known Justin for almost a decade and as long as I've known him, it's been his dream to hug a panda. I'm so happy we were able to make this a reality. We weren't allowed to film the actual hug but it was so worth it. There is nothing fluffier than a panda bear. I was very impressed by how much care the sanctuary put into making sure the baby panda was not stressed by the experience of meeting us. That day only 6 people were allowed 10 seconds each with the panda as it happily chewed on bamboo. All money raised from the donations required to have this experience go straight to the panda's care.

We began our trip by visiting the shopping districts of Shunxi Road, IFS mall, and Taikoo Li (and Davi Temple), we then went to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding where we saw SO MANY PANDAS!!!, then visited the iconic tourist attraction spots: Wide and Narrow Alleys and Jinli. Keep watching and you will also see us devoured some local eats including Sichuan-style hot pot, dan dan noodles, and... wait for it... super popular, spicy rabbit head?!
