Mowantjie Willauwar Reserve – meaning Forest of Pines is home to 143 hectares of Southern Cyprus Pine Forest, over 40 bird species and 23 species of plants. The 4km linear trail through the reserve is ideal for walking, hiking and mountain bike riding for people of all fitness levels. Sections of the trail are pram friendly. Located just over 90km from Adelaide, on the Murray River, Mowantjie Willauwar forms part of the River Bend Heritage Tail, a 25km circuit trail linking Tailem Bend and Wellington. Two orchids of national conservation significance, the Metallic Sun Orchid and the Sandhill Greenhood Orchid, are located within the park.
