It is nearly impossible to get cameras into Berghain/Panorama Bar, as they have a strict no-camera policy, reported DJsounds German division. So kudos to the crew for managing to come up with this clip: an interview with Berghain resident DJ Marcel Dettmann and a rare peak inside Berlins uber-cool techno club!

Der Strausberger Platz - Central Berlin und Panorama-Bar
Der Strausberger Platz ist ein Markenzeichen der Stadt, in keinem Berlin-Werbefilm fehlt er. Gerahmt von den klassizistischen Bauten der 1950er Jahren mit einem Sprungbrunnen in der Mitte rauscht Tag und Nacht über ihn hinweg. Im Hochhaus ist eine Panorama-Bar, die einen fantastischen Blick in der Nacht über die Stadt erlaubt.
Wer wissen will, wie es sich zu DDR-Zeiten lebte, der sollte unbedingt ins „Central Berlin“. Sammler Stephan Schilgen hat ein Händchen für Design-Möbel aus der DDR, sie nach der Wende von der Straße gerettet. Ober ein Sessel von Rudolf Horn, die etwas andere Anbauwand aus Kirsche, in der Ausstellung erfährt der Besucher, dass es in der DDR nicht nur „Einheitsbrei“ gab. Manche Kostbarkeiten können erworben werden.
Dafür stehen schon die „Stalinbauten“ an sich. Der ehemalige Kultursenator Thomas Flierl lebt in einer Wohnung und engagiert sich in der „Henselmann-Stiftung“, Henselmann ist der Architekt, der die Häuser am Strausberger Platz entworfen hat und noch heute gefeiert wird dafür. Ganz oben in einem Hochhaus lädt eine Panorama-Bar mit Tanzschule ein, von der aus man einen atemberaubenden Blick auf den Alexanderplatz hat. Früher lebten in den Häusern Funktionäre und Künstler, heute ist die ganze Welt hier zu Hause. Die Bauten sind denkmalgeschützt saniert worden und beliebte Spekulationsobjekte.
Hinter den Häusern gibt es viel grün, sogar Gärten und das Lotos-Vihara-Zentrum. Der Verein hat in einem ehemaligen Kita-Gebäude eine Oase der Ruhe und Einkehr geschaffen, in dem man das Meditieren erlernen kann. Hier können Großstadtgeplagte mal durchatmen und Gelassenheit lernen. Das Gute am Leben zu erkennen, das will der buddhistische Lehrer Wilfried Reuter den Berlinern in seinen Kursen nahe bringen.
