Grand Canyon and Colorado River Arizona - view on the helicopter tour from Las Vegas Nevada
From the moment we took off, our ex-Marine helicopter pilot Nate chose the most amazing tracks to blast into our brains through the noise reducing headsets - but Sail by Awolnation was THE epitomising soundtrack for our tour of the Grand Canyon:
This composite video shows the walls of Grand Canyon West, the mighty Colorado River below, and the plateau 4,000 feet below the rim where we landed to drink champagne, prick ourselves on cacti and look under rocks for rattlesnakes. We flew with Papillon who were excellent from the minute they picked us up from our casino in a neon-lit stretch limousine til the moment we arrived back at our Las Vegas hotel thinking Well, after that adventure, and Machu Picchu... have we reached the pinnacle of our lives? We also had a sunrise tour of the Vegas Strip, flew over Lake Mead and Hoover Dam. This is a must do if you're ever in the United States:

AMAZING HELICOPTER TOUR OF THE GRAND CANYON FROM LAS VEGAS
When I reflect on things that I consider to be a once in a lifetime travel opportunity, few would be ahead of our helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas. Never have I had the opportunity to see such stunning rugged scenery from such a vantage point. Departing from the airport we flew over Las Vegas Strip, Lake Mead and The Hoover Dam before finally reaching the Grand Canyon. After landing we enjoyed some champagne with ample time to snap photos. It's a tour we'll never forget and it has really whetted our appetite to spend additional time exploring the Grand Canyon when we have the next opportunity.

Amazing Helicopter Tour of the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas Travel Video Script:
One of the highlights of our three day weekend in Las Vegas was the opportunity to take a helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon. Visiting this natural marvel is already a once in a lifetime experience but getting to see it from above the cherry on top. Every single person on that helicopter smiled the whole way there and back. Here are some of the views from that flight.
We just took a helicopter tour with Maverick Helicopters and we've just landed in the Grand Canyon. And you guys, it is so impressive.
So what did you think of the flight over? Well, it's been quite a while since I've been in a helicopter. The last time I rode in one was when I was a child. And I just love them so much more than taking a plane. It is just a smoother experience and the helicopter is really versatile. It can zig and zag and go all over the place. Perfect for filming and perfect for views.
Were you a little scared considering it was your first ride? My hands were a little clammy from the experience but honestly it is amazing. Like, once you are up in the air and you get to see the landscape below you it is just so amazing. So I'm not scared anymore. The scenery is so distracting you kind of forget that you're nervous. Yeah, and it just becomes a really peaceful experience being up in the air. So it was really cool.
So we're fueling up, swapping seats and now it is time to head back to Las Vegas.
On the flight back we flew over the Vegas Strip for a bird's eye view of the city. When the helicopter finally touched down we still had giant grins plastered on our faces. This is an experience that will be very hard to top.

Grand Canyon and Monument Valley Air Tour
Recorded on December 26, 2006. The video begins as we takeoff from the Boulder City, Nevada Airport and fly over Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. We then land at the Grand Canyon Airport. We view the Grand Canyon from Bright Angel Trail before returning to the airplane. We then fly directly over the Grand Canyon, Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell before landing at Monument Valley, Utah. There are several nice views of Monument Valley on this bright and sunny winter day.

Grand Canyon Helicopter Tours sind der beste Weg, um den Nationalpark zu sehen. Hubschrauber fahren von Las Vegas, Nevada, und Tusayan, auch als der South Rim bekannt. Weight Limit Fees For Grand Canyon Helicopter Tours
Grand Canyon helicopters are the most thrilling way to experience the National Park.
But there's some fine print you need to be aware of that will help you avoid surprises.
Quick way to get info on this matter is via this video or this article:
And here's the crux of the matter. If you weigh 300 lbs (136 kilos, 21 stone) or more you're going to have to pay for an extra seat.
At a value equal to what you bought the original seat for.
Yes, this is an expensive proposition but a necessary one.
See, helicopters only hold six people and they have a max payload. For suppliers to remain profitable, they have to fill all six seats.
However, a passenger weighing 300 pounds or more makes it more challenging to fill the aircraft.
Thus it's easier to sell said passenger two seats in order to ensure the helicopter is fully occupied.
I know it's not the greatest news but it's how the business works. Now you know and there won't be any surprises.
Unless you fib about your weight as you book the tour online. My suggestion is don't. This is because you'll be weighed at check in.
And yes this is done discretely via digital scales set in the floor in front of the check in counter.
Pay attention to cancellation policies. They vary. But the good ones give you up to 48 hours to cancel your tour with a full refund.
Those particular suppliers are all listed on my helicopter tour review site:
Weather cancel policies also deserve your attention. If inclement weather strikes, the GOOD suppliers will give you two options: 1) reschedule for a later flight based on your availability; or 2) give you a full refund.
These are just a few of the issues the video touches on. For those who want to read the nitty gritty, again, go here for the article:

Grand Canyon West Air-Only Helicopter Tour - Silver Cloud
Enjoy the sights of the Grand Canyon from a luxury helicopter! The Silver Cloud is an air tour perfect for grand canyon sightseeing. On this expedited aerial adventure, you’ll see some of Nevada’s most iconic landmarks along the way to one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
Silver Cloud Highlights:
The Grand Canyon West Rim: part of sacred Hualapai Indian tribal territory and is best distinguished by its rich desert landscape. As you soar among its extraordinary ridges and recesses, note the remarkable layers that make up this profound natural wonder. Below, you’ll be able to see the legendary Colorado River, the river largely responsible for the formation of the canyon.
Hoover Dam: Built during the Great Depression, Hoover Dam holds back the mighty Colorado River along with generating power for over a million residents in Nevada, California, and Arizona. As you fly over this historic landmark, notice the surrounding Black Canyon–a 12 mile stretch of rigid ebony terrain.
Lake Mead: The Lake Mead recreational area is a beloved desert oasis sitting on the Nevada-Arizona border. It serves as Hoover Dam’s reservoir and is one of the largest man-made lakes in the world. Spanning over 2,000 square miles and boasting a bright blue contrast to the surrounding Mojave Desert, it has also become a popular local boating and fishing destination for many Las Vegas and Boulder City residents.
