There's a feeling, deep in my heart
Stabbing at me just like a dart
It's a feeling heaven----ly
I see memories out of the past
Memories that always will last
Of a place beside the sea
Wai---ki--ki, at night when your shadows are falling
I hear your rolling surf calling
Calling and calling to me
Wai---ki--ki, tis for you that my heart is yearning
My thoughts are always returning
Out there to you across the sea
Your tropic nights and your wonderful charms
Are ever in my memories
As I recall when I held you in my arms
An angel sweet and heavenly
Wai---ki--ki, my whole life is empty without you
I miss that magic about you
Magic beside the sea, magic of Waiki-
Magic of Wai--ki--ki
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hawaii’s Manoa Cliff Hiking Trail
We're going for a hike on Hawaii's Manoa Cliff Trail. It is one of the great hiking spots in Honolulu, on Oahu in Hawaii.
link for hiking information and maps:
link for volunteering
Today I'm sending you a video postcard from my home in Honolulu, Hawaii. We are going to take a hike in the mountains, looking out over Manoa Valley.
This view gives you a good summary of the walking conditions on the trail. It's really quite easy, mostly level dirt.
In this Google Earth view you can see that Waikiki is just a few miles from the mountains, and you hop in your car and drive up the hill, you'll soon reach the beginning of the Manoa Cliff trail where the hike begins.
Zooming into Manoa Valley with the mountains around it, we gain a clear view looking at the route we will take on the hike. It goes along the side of the ridge. That's why it's called the Manoa Cliff trail.
The easy route getting there is along Round Top Drive. It's a nice scenic, curving road. When you get to the address 4059 on Round Top you have arrived. Enter the trail directly from the road.
Quite the dramatic and beautiful location and it's an easy hike. You could walk in and back out again in less than two hours. Signage marks the entrance and cautions you not to fall off the cliff. Take normal precautions and you'll be just fine.
It's very close to town, takes maybe 20 minutes to drive up here, and then you park your car along the road and you enter right through the gateway here into the Manoa Cliff trail, two miles long, quite level and gives you some wonderful views down into the Manoa Valley as well as a lovely forest hike. So let's go check it out.
All right were going, going up the trail, and it is a very easy trail, nice forest floor, leaves and the few roots and today there's no mud. We're lucky because it is not been raining lately. If it's a rainy day, better to not come up here. It will be a little muddy. You don't need that. But on a day when there's been no rain, and especially here, there's been no rain for the last couple of days, which is un pretty usual. Manoa and the mountains are pretty much a rainy area. But when there's been no rain, it's choice. And already as soon as you enter the trail it's just beautiful.

My Visit to Guitar Center Hawaii
In this video I document my first visit to the new Guitar Center here on the island of Oahu, Hawaii USA.
This Guitar Center, located in Pearl City had its grand opening May 10th, 2019 and I went there May 13th, 2019.
This is kind of a big thing for us in Hawaii, this being our first and only Guitar Center in the state. Living in Hawaii we are very isolated from the mainland culture and it usually takes years for us to obtain things that are already considered common place in the mainland.
We do have some great music stores already here on the island but this just gives us another option now.
If you like the video give it a thumbs up and subscribe.
I'll be making more videos in the future.

Failure To Protect Our Keiki -Kamehameha Schools’ Hidden Secrets (What's On Your Mind Hawaii)
Is the school district trying to prevent victims from telling their stories?.
Tim Apicella dedicates his first show to discuss recent news about the alleged sexual assault of 34 male Kamehameha School students since the 1960s. Tim’s guest is Mark Gallagher, an attorney who has represented children of sexual assaults in the past. He will share his recent editorial in the Star Advertiser, and the attempts from the school district to silence and prevent victims from discussing their experience.

Zachary Manago Memorial Circle Island Ride
So we finally got together and planned a circle island fixed gear ride around the island of Oahu, in honor of our friend and riding partner Zachary Manago. A few of his friends came along, also becoming regular faces on our rides. Four women where among the twenty five riders (counting Zach of coarse) that decided to take this epic journey. The town group started at Beretania Safeway at around 5am. We then rode to the Leeward side to meet the rest of the group at Pearlridge 7-11. There were at least ten flats before we reached the end by night fall. A few of the leeward group were also able to continue to their starting point, to claim an actual circle island trip on their fixed gear bikes. Awesome day!
Oahu Bike and Hike in a Rainforest
Visit to learn more about booking your own Hawaii vacation packages and an O'ahu bike and hike excursion with as well as the other Hawaiian Islands.
Visiting O'ahu doesn't have to be all about sitting on the beach in Waikiki. O'ahu offers many other adventures, including a downhill bike ride through the lush Puu Ohia rainforest shown in this video.
During our last visit to Hawaii, we went on the Downhill Bike and Rainforest Hike with ( Based on the day and the timing, Bike Hawaii will typically take you on the rainforest hike first, followed by the 5 mile downhill rainforest bike. On the day we did it and in the video, you'll see this reversed, again due to time of day and weather.
The downhill rainforest bike is just that; downhill. I think we only pedaled one time and you could easily coast the whole 5 miles. We stopped midway down to eat our bag lunch that's included with the excursion. The views of Diamond Head crater and Waikiki from our lunch spot were absolutely stunning! You can see it in the video, but it still doesn't take the place of actually being there on the mountain.
The bikes are like beach cruisers and very comfortable.
The Hawaii hike takes place in a private 75-acre rainforest in Manoa Valley that only guests of Bike Hawaii will get to see and experience. The hike turnaround takes place at a 200-foot waterfall that can be just a trickle or a raging fall, depending on the time of year and precipitation amounts. It's a 2-mile hike and is not very strenuous. Bike Hawaii calls it a moderate hike and that seems about right. You will get pretty muddy and Bike Hawaii provides mud boots for you to wear and you need to bring your own socks. There will also be a few stream crossings and (my favorite) a bamboo forest to hike through on the way back to the trailhead.
Here's more information from Bike Hawaii on this excursion:
Your day will begin discovering the hidden hiking treasures of Oahu's lush volcanic rainforest. This moderate 2-mile round-trip guided hike is a rare opportunity to explore 75-acres of sacred land that is exclusive only to the guests of our company. Experience the majestic beauty of our towering 200-foot private waterfall, cross through tranquil streams, picturesque pools and view ancient lo`i (rock terraces) and lush tropical vegetation of Hawaii's paradise.
With average year-round temperatures of 80 degree (cooler in the rainforest), refreshing trade winds and two volcanic mountain ranges on this Hawaiian island, Oahu is a hiker's paradise. Given the popularity of hiking, and since most all other hiking companies feature public trails and multiple groups, the secluded personality of the rainforest is often compromised. As a locally owned and operated company with a particular passion for the unique Oahu volcanic rainforest , we take great pride in knowing our guests are experiencing something uniquely our own and will not be overcrowded by other tour companies and the general public. Our exclusive rainforest adventure is more than a hike; it is a journey to the secluded and lush 75-acres of private Manoa Valley rainforest.
After the hike, you'll experience another specialty of Bike Hawaii on our most sought after bike tour. This easy 5-mile tropical ride coasts downhill on a paved road nestled in the lush Puu Ohia rainforest. This unique experience combines Hawaii's tropical rainforest, magnificent panoramic views of scenic Oahu, the fragrance of tropical fruits and flowers with Hawaiian culture, history, native species of bird and animals and its unique geological features.
