First Time In France | Bordeaux Wine Tasting Tour, Vineyards & Chateau | Princess Cruises Vlog #4
Wine tasting Bordeaux - Our cruise ship arrived in France so we took a shore excursion to taste wine, visit vineyards and chateaus! ✈ Our 220 page guide on how to travel non-stop —
Quick recap — we're on our first cruise, departing with Princess Cruises on Sapphire Princess from Southampton UK. Today we arrived in France and got to spend some time in an incredible region, Bordeaux. This is wine tasting country for sure, Bordeaux has an incredible reputation for some of the best tasting French red wine, the most amazing chateaus and a particularly classy scene.
As far as wine tours in Bordeaux go, this was more of a wine tasting and vineyard tour with included history and lunch. It's a classy scene in Bordeaux, so it's not just about drinking and forgetting, there's an elegance here that we tried to capture the essence of in the vlog.
Bordeaux has always been one of those places we never really imagined we would visit, so when we found out our Princess Cruise was going there it was simple, a shore excursion and wine tour were a must! If you get the chance to visit France and Bordeaux be sure to scope out as many vineyards and chateaus as you possibly can!
Safe to say we love cruise life! Having our bags unpacked for a week onboard the ship, travelling over night, new locations to explore almost daily - this is special! Check out Princess Cruises here —

DAY TRIP TO PARIS ❤️ London To Paris Tour | Eurostar Train Travel Vlog | KLOOK
Go big! We took a London to Paris day trip tour on the Eurostar train and back in one day and loved it! Using the Klook app we booked...⬇ More Below ⬇
Until a week ago Stace had never even been to France, yet here we are back in London and trying to plan some travel, and Paris comes up. So we thought it's best to go big or go home! We found a site called Klook, spotted a London to Paris day trip tour and prepared for a big day of travel.
The Eurostar train is super easy, but the prices fluctuate and it can get crazy expensive! Fortunately Klook secures a crazy cheap cost, comes with a full day tour of Paris, a local guide, lunch & champagne, reserved seats on the Eurostar AND helps you beat all of the lines at the main attractions like the Eiffel Tower by going into the fast track lanes. We were sold.
Everything went super smooth, Paris is stunning, the Eurostar is so quick and comfortable and we ended up having the most amazing day going from London to Paris in one day. If you're trying to find a day trip to Paris from London, definitely check out this trip —
So is it worth going from London to Paris on one day only? Honestly we feel like yes! Paris has a lot more to offer than a day trip would allow, but if you don't want to waste hours flying, only have a few days available and want to get there easily with a guide or just want to take an incredible travel day as a taster - do it! We loved it.
Klook offers a lot more than day trips, check them out here —

PARIS DAY TRIP TO FONTAINEBLEAU | One of the best day trips from Paris ????

How do you get there?
If you want to get to Fontainebleau from Paris by public transport, take a Transilien train from Gare de Lyon heading towards Migennes, Montargis or Montereau. You want to get off at Fontainebleau-Avon (normally the first, second or third stop), and the journey should take around 40 minutes. Trains run between every 20 and 90 minutes and the ticket costs 8.85€ each way, unless you have a Navigo or five-zone Paris Visite card. Once at the station, you can head directly into the forest or take Bus 1 in the direction of Les Lilas to the Château de Fontainebleau, which will take about 15 minutes. You can also walk the three kilometers into the town in under 40 minutes.
Fresh air fills your lungs on arriving in the classy town of Fontainebleau. It’s enveloped by the 280 sq km Forêt de Fontainebleau, which is as big a playground today as it was in the 16th century, with superb walking and rock-climbing opportunities. Situated 68km southeast of Paris, the town grew up around its magnificent château, one of the most beautifully decorated and furnished in France.
What is there to see?
The Château de Fontainebleau is, of course, at the top of most people’s list of things to see in this town 55 km southeast of Paris. Its 1,500 rooms, including Marie Antoinette’s Turkish boudoir and Napoleon III’s lavish theater, have been preserved or immaculately restored in recent years. Set within 130 acres of formal gardens and parkland, this UNESCO World Heritage Site lives up to and exceeds expectations. It is a monument depicting the whole of French culture in (relative) miniature. The palace and the town are surrounded by the Forêt de Fontainebleau. The 25,000 hectares of woodland contain 1,600 km of walking trails, great spots for bouldering, hiking and horse riding, and amazing biodiversity, including its own endemic tree species. If it’s your kind of thing, you can also visit the grave of Katherine Mansfield — the prominent modernist short story writer from New Zealand — in the local cemetery.

A Winery in the Middle of Paris
No need to go the country to find great wine, this winery rests in the middle of Paris, France.
The French countryside is known for its vineyards and wineries.
Did you know however, that even in the metropolis of Paris, there is a tradition of growing grapes for wine?
The last working vineyard in Paris is known as Clos Montmartre.
Annually during a week in October, Parisians in the neighborhood of Montmarte enjoy a grape harvest festival.
The vineyard was started in the 1920s by artists who wanted to preserve the land. French Law says that vineyard land cannot be developed. Today the vineyard grows grapes for around a thousand bottles of wine.
Other urban wineries exist in the United States in cities like New York City, Cincinnati, Ohio and San Diego, California. Most of these wineries make their wines from grapes that are imported from outside of the city, but one of the wineries in New York City grows some of their grapes on a plot of land in the city.
The operator of the one and a half acre vineyard for Queens Farm Museum, Gary Mitchell told the Wall Street Journal: When we're able to expand the size of the vineyard, we'll use more of our own grapes.

FAQ:
How long have you lived in France? On and off for over two years.
What do you miss most about ho- NACHOS
You're always talking about living on some ship. WHAT SHIP? - I made a Draw My Life video that explains a lot here:
Where are you from originally? - Pullman, Washington - a small university/agricultural town near Idaho (and yes, the potatoes are amazing).
What do you film with? - I've made a lot of changes recently, but I try to keep my gear list up to date if you want to see what I use and buy some for yourself:
What do you edit with? - Adobe Premiere - it's pretty much all I've ever used since high school.
Aren't you ever freaked out by leaving your camera behind to film yourself? - Yep. But not too badly - I tend to be careful when I do.
Why are you living in #Paris? - Because I've always wanted to; I feel at home here:
Do you speak French? Oui.
You talk a lot about the books you're working on, what are they about? - They're sci-fi (and fantasy) and I've got a decent pitch for you here:
Do you make money off YouTube? - Ha, no. I wish. It took me over 500 videos to make my first total $100 off adsense. I think it will slowly change, but VERY slowly.
I really enjoy your videos, how can I support you? - The easiest and best way to support me is through Patreon, where you can pitch in as little as $1/mo to help me make better videos:
I don't trust this Patreon thing - can I just paypal you? - Here's my ko-fi if that's your thing (and coffee is your game):
But I want to send you something tangible! - I do have a wishlist on Amazon, though it's a bit complicated with the international shipping situation. This is the US one:
And here's the French wishlist:

Paris is known for being an expensive city, but there are plenty of ways that you can save money during your vacation.

Paris is filled with the most iconic landmarks on earth and luckily for the budget traveler, they can all be seen for free!
Choosing a holiday apartment rental can help you save a lot of money. You get more space, and bang for your buck and deeper discounts when you stay for a longer amount of time.
Having a kitchen in your apartment is a great way to save money on meals.
We find that eating out is one of the most expensive parts of travel.
so if you can cook yourself a nice romantic dinner in with a bottle of fine wine from the Carfourre, you're going to save a lot of money
When in Paris, make sure to take advantage of free tours, they're all over the place and it's a great way to learn about the history of Paris.
Many museums in Paris offer free days, once a month, like the Museé D'Orsay here.
On the first Sunday of every month, you can get in for free.
Be sure to check and see when museums have discounts on certain days of the week where you can get in for the last couple of hours for a fraction of the price.
When you're in Paris be sure to take advantage of the free churches like Notre Dame.
They're absolutely beautiful inside and they're free!
I'm on the steps of Sacre Couer in Mont Martre, and it's the best view of Paris, save for the Eiffel Tower or Monteparnasse, but this view is free.
Choosing the right disctrict to stay in can save you a lot of money.
This studio in Montmartre starts at 49 Euro a night.
So another great budget tip in Paris is head down to your local Fanprix or Carfourre, grab yourself some meats, cheeses and baguettes, and head somewhere to have yourself a great picnic.
When you do decide to eat out in Paris, make sure to hit the Latin Quarter, you can get a 3 course meal for under €20.
Here's a tip to help you save money, whenever you see the emblem of Paris on a museum, it means it's free.
Here's a great site in Paris that you can see for free!
Instead of taking taxis or tourist busses, take the metro instead.
Paris has an extensive system and it stops at all the major sites.
There is so much that you can do for free in Paris, be it walking through the cemeteries of Monteparnasse and Pere la Chaise to visit the famous residents,
to taking advantage of watching the talented musicians and artists performing in the streets.
You don't need to go inside to witness beautiful art in Paris. The city itself is a living work of art.
