Paris, France - Video Tour of Le Marais Neighborhood (Part 2)
Today we are going to finish up our tour of a great Paris neighborhood -- the Marais. This is the second of our two-part series on the fantastic neighborhood of the Marais in Paris. If you haven't yet watched the first part, you can find it on our YouTube channel :
The Marais used to be an important center of Jewish Paris and is still today to a certain degree. You can see the unique Agoudas Hakehilos synagogue designed by Hector Guimard at 10 rue Pavee, which used to be the one of the main Jewish streets in Paris. You can pick up some tasty pastries at the various Jewish bakeries or grab a falafel at the famous l'As du Falafel (34 rue des Rosiers)!
Further down the street is Chez Marianne, a better option for a sit down meal. Patrons can make their own tasting menu of Eastern Mediterranean delicacies such as hummus, grilled eggplant and vine-leaf dolmas.
The fact that the Marais has become a trendy area with cool boutiques does have something to do with the rise in its gay population. At night, you'll have trouble finding space at two of its most popular bars -- the Open Café at 17 rue des Archives and the Raidd Bar at 23 rue de Temple.
If you'd like to experience the Marais like a true local, you should definitely rent a vacation rental or furnished apartment. There's no better way to experience this city than to live in a real Parisian apartment.

The Marais is also bustling in the evenings. The lower half of rue Vielle de Temple has several lively cafes and bars including:
Le Pick-Clops (16 rue Vielle de Temple) -- a great place for apero with their free popcorn, they also have some nice light meal options.
The Lizard Lounge (18 rue du Bourg Tibourg) -- head down into the basement to hang with a fun international crowd. Happy hour until 10 pm and fun dance tunes until late

Having a nice walk along the river is not only allowed to Paris city center inhabitant.
Enjoy the riverside peaceful atmosphere, far away from Seine's river, in the Northern Eastern side of Paris while visiting the Canal Saint Martin and the Bassin de la Villette.
If you like street art and graffito's you will love the Canal Saint Martin district.
Canal Saint Martin is also a wonderful place to go out at night with your friends because you will find many pubs open with young people relaxing inside.

The World of Volcom Stone | Paris, France
On Saturday 5th of October, Volcom Clothing hosted an afternoon celebrating the brand and its unique values in Paris.
The World Of Volcom Stone showcased the international première of Veeco's latest film True To This , a skateboarding demo and a concert of the band Black Bananas. All this was for free as per usual.
The public could interact at some DIY stations with Volcom employees, to have some tee shirts screenprinted, some hats customized, some buttons stamped...get creative with the copy machine, and of course walk away with a million more goodies.
Some skate obstacles were especially made for the event and were also open to skate for everyone and soon a couple of good tricks got landed by local Frenchmen such as Robin Bolian or Jerôme Prefot.
At around 6 pm things went crazy with the Pros taking over the course. The Volcom Skate Team includes some of the best skateboarders on the planet...and with such heavy hitters the demo went nuts.
The skateboard team in Paris consisted of back to back Skaters Of The Year (voted by Thrasher Magazine) David Gonzalez and Grant Taylor, legend Rune Glifberg, superhuman Collin Spider Provost, Kingpin's European favorite Eniz Fazilov, Belgian prodigy Axel Cruysberghs, all terrain shredders Alain Goikoetxea and Ben Raemers, and local team rider Vincent Coupeau, Dennis Busenitz was also present but injured.
The demo started full force with the two SOTY David Gonzalez and GT flying around; unfortunately Collin got hurt during the first minutes of the demo while landing a massive fs ollie, slaying the quarter pipe at the same time, adding some gnarlitude to the thing.
The crowd went wild with all the tricks landed, and then Axel and Eniz together closed the session on the stone obstacle respectively with a fs flip revert and a huge fs 360.
It was then time for the World première showing of True To This a sequel to the iconic Volcom film from 1991 Alive We Ride - a celebration of America's First Boarding Company.
Ryan Immegart, Volcom VP of Marketing, introduced the movie on stage and then everyone enjoyed some raw skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding with another killer soundtrack. We won't reveal any more spoilers here, as the film will drop publicly in March 2014.
Snowboard team riders Arthur Longo, Pat Moore and Elena Hight were also there having a good time, Spanish slasher Gony Zubizarreta also made the trip together with our friends and employees from Volcom from all around the world to celebrate.
The afternoon ended with the Black Bananas, the unclassifiable US band combining genres from psychedelia to metal, spearheaded by creative genius Jennifer Herrema.
So many things happened so fast...soon everyone was straight out into the nightlife, because coincidently the same night, the Parisian city event Nuit Blanche was on in all streets and plazas. This means everything was open late and everyone was wearing white. And partying.
That was a night to remember!
