MACEDONIA: KOSOVO: CHINOOK HELICOPTERS ARRIVE
Natural Sound
Chinook helicopters of the United States Army are now stationed in Skopje, Macedonia.
They're role is to provide aerial cover over Kosovo for advancing NATO troops.
Further into the peacekeeping operation they will be used to ferry equipment and supplies.
The crew of these Chinook helicopters are preparing for their first reconnaissance flight into Kosovo.
Chinook helicopters have long been the back bone of the United States Army, providing aerial cover and sheer horse power for heavy lifting.
During the coming months of the NATO Balkans peace mission these choppers will fly every day.
Surveying Yugoslav troop withdrawals, K-L-A movements and ferrying equipment and supplies to NATO forces in the field.
With their heavy calibre machine guns and the deep rhythmic beat of their engines, their presence over the skies Kosovo is a daunting one.

28. SOUNDBITE: (Albanian) Father Lush Gjergji, author and Mother Teresa researcher:
Her tradition, her culture, everything is Albanian. She is Skopje-born, but in no way, she can't be Macedonian or a citizen of Macedonian state _ which is a country created recently. I do not understand why they are doing this, saying all these things. I understand that everybody wants Mother Teresa to be theirs. I understand that the world envies us. But, Mother Teresa loved everybody and she is everybody's mother, mother of all of us, including Macedonians. But such speculations (about her origin) when relationship between Albanians and Macedonians is fragile, with all
these manipulations don't serve anybody.
Pristina, Kosovo
29. Main square
30. Mother Teresa billboard, her picture with her signature written:I always have in my heart my Albanian people, I pray for you.
STORYLINE:
As the date for Mother Teresa's beatification draws nearer, disputes over her origins are becoming more heated in the Balkans.
Both the faithful and the skeptical in Kosovo, Macedonia and Albania claim Mother Teresa as their own.
With the October 19 beatification now only a week away, there has been a rush to grab the edge of Mother Teresa's sari, leading to disputes over the volatile mix of history, ethnicity and religion that have sometimes led to decidedly un-Christian behavior here.
Mother Teresa's parents were ethnic Albanians from Kosovo, according to her unofficial biographer, Father Lush Gjergji.
But when Macedonian civic leaders offered to donate a bronze statue of the Nobel Prize winner to Rome, a vicious argument over her ancestry ensued.

Albania - Drowned refugees mourned
T/I: 10:57:26
Albania was in official mourning on Monday (31/3) for 83 refugees listed as dead or missing after their boat collided with an Italian warship in the Adriatic Sea last week and sank.
Each country was blaming the other for the tragedy. The Albanian
ambassador in Rome insisted that the refugee vessel was deliberately rammed by the Italian navy but Italy's naval chief said the skipper of the Albanian boat was responsible.
In the southern port city of Vlore, where most of the victims came from, the list of the missing was posted on walls. Following local tradition, the doors of homes in mourning were left open. Anti-Italian feeling was running high in Vlore, where armed gangs still roam the streets unchecked.
The local rebel government in Vlore, called the Salvation Committee of the People, decided on Monday that Italian troops would be unwelcome and the town would not accept a foreign protection force.

Tirana VR - THE CLOCKTOWER 360° VR VIDEO
Located in the very heart of Tirana, the Clock tower is one of the most popular symbols of the capital. Its construction began in 1822 and initiallyit was about 30 m tall. Until 1928, it was a bell tower equipped with only a turret clock and a bell which was rung every hour. In 1928, it was reconstructed and the bell mechanism was replaced by the clock faces and the tower, now 35 m high, took the look that it still hastoday.
Architecturally, the clock tower embodies the history of Albania, where the lower half is made of stones and belongs to the Ottoman style, while the dome and its balcony belong to the Western style. Although since 1970 it is no longer the tallest building in Tirana, the Clock Tower continues to offer a breath-taking view to every visitor that climbs its 90 stairs.
