A MUSICAL JOURNEY - NORWAY [Naxos 2.110515]
Naxos DVD Trailer: A Musical Tour of the Country's Past and Present
The tour of Norway takes us from the capital, Oslo, with its harbours, parks and imposing buildings, to Bergen, the birthplace of Edvard Grieg, and its surrounding countryside, with a glimpse of Grieg's house at Troldhaugen. Trolls make their presence known, before a final return to Oslo and to the sculpture display of Vigeland Park.
The music chosen for this tour of Norway is by Norwegian composers, of whom the best known is Edvard Grieg. Included are excerpts from his incidental music for Ibsen's drama Peer Gynt and for Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson's Sigurd Jorsalfar. Other composers featured are Christian Sinding, composer of the famous Rustle of Spring, and Johan Halvorsen.

After leaving the park, the next place I visited was the National Gallery of Norway. The reason I found this place is to see the work of Norwegian painter Munch. In this exhibition room called Munch's room, there are a series of works called Freeze and various Munch's works such as scenery and portraits. Among them, many people are attracted to poisonous works, his famous work Scream. Munch says he painted this picture while listening to the gigantic screams of nature as he watched a burning glow during a walk with his friends. They seem to hear the screaming people stay in front of his work for a long time. It's a very famous painting. I was looking at his face here. These portraits sound like a big suggestion. I like this painter. So I like all portraits. Munch's work contains sickness and fear of childhood experiences and horrors, distorted forms and intense colors. And Munch 's idea of failing to believe in women due to the failure of subsequent love is contained in a series of works. Munch seems to have lived an unhappy life.

There are many World War II records left in the Svober War Museum. During World War II, Narvic near Lopoten was invaded by Germany due to its strategic importance. Since then, Potten has been one of the most intense battlegrounds to take and steal. I grew up listening to a lot of dramatic stories that my grandparents told me about (World War II). So I wondered how it could happen and eventually I got to this museum. I have very extreme peculiarities. If you want to see it, I'll show you, I was curious and followed him. That's the picture. I bought it from a girl in Germany 11 years ago, and there was a sign called A. Hitler. There was an unexpected reversal in this picture, but there was another picture on the back of the frame opened for the mark. Pictures of Hitler's autographs. I can not believe that Hitler painted during the war. These pictures tell me about another aspect of Hitler who is very scary. Hitler was like a psycho-pass that seemed to have two people in one body. Each exhibit has its own hidden stories. I am very impressed. I came to see what I read somewhere and I think it is very attractive.

Peer Gynt
Peer Gynt (/ˈpɪər ˈɡɪnt/; Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈpeːr ˈɡʏnt]) is a five-act play in verse by the Norwegian dramatist Henrik Ibsen. Written in the Bokmål form of Norwegian, it is one of the most widely performed Norwegian plays. Ibsen believed Per Gynt, the Norwegian fairy tale on which the play is loosely based, to be rooted in fact, and several of the characters are modelled after Ibsen's own family, notably his parents Knud Ibsen and Marichen Altenburg. He was also generally inspired by Peter Christen Asbjørnsen's collection of Norwegian fairy tales, published in 1845 (Huldre-Eventyr og Folkesagn).
According to Klaus Van Den Berg, the cinematic script blends poetry with social satire and realistic scenes with surreal ones. Peer Gynt has also been described as the story of a life based on procrastination and avoidance. A first edition of 1,250 copies was published on 14 November 1867 in Copenhagen. Although the first edition swiftly sold out, a reprint of two thousand copies, which followed after only fourteen days, didn't sell out until seven years later.

Oslo
Oslo (English pronunciation: /ˈɒzloʊ/, OZ-loh, Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈuʂˈlu] ( ) or, rarer [ˈusˈlu] or [ˈuʂlu]) is the capital of Norway and most populous city in Norway. Oslo constitutes a county and a municipality.
Founded around 1000 AD, and established a kaupstad or trading place in 1048 by King Harald III, the city was elevated to a bishopric in 1070 and a capital under Haakon V around 1300. Personal unions with Denmark from 1397 to 1523 and again from 1536 to 1814 and with Sweden from 1814 to 1905 reduced its influence. After being destroyed by a fire in 1624, the city was moved closer to Akershus Castle during the reign of King Christian IV and renamed Christiania in his honour. It was established as a municipality (formannskapsdistrikt) on 1 January 1838. Following a spelling reform, it was known as Kristiania from 1877 to 1925, when its original Norwegian name was restored.

SUMMARY
=======
Oslo ( OZ-loh, also US: OSS-loh, Norwegian: [²ʊʂlʊ] (listen), rarely [²ʊslʊ, ˈʊʂlʊ]) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Founded in the year 1040 as Ánslo, and established as a kaupstad or trading place in 1048 by Harald Hardrada, the city was elevated to a bishopric in 1070 and a capital under Haakon V of Norway around 1300. Personal unions with Denmark from 1397 to 1523 and again from 1536 to 1814 reduced its influence. After being destroyed by a fire in 1624, during the reign of King Christian IV, a new city was built closer to Akershus Fortress and named Christiania in the king's honour. It was established as a municipality (formannskapsdistrikt) on 1 January 1838. The city functioned as a co-official capital during the 1814 to 1905 Union between Sweden and Norway. In 1877, the city's name was respelled Kristiania in accordance with an offical spelling reform – a change that was taken over by the municipal authorities only in 1897. In 1925 the city, after incorporating the village retaining its former name, was renamed Oslo.
Oslo is the economic and governmental centre of Norway. The city is also a hub of Norwegian trade, banking, industry and shipping. It is an important centre for maritime industries and maritime trade in Europe. The city is home to many companies within the maritime sector, some of which are among the world's largest shipping companies, shipbrokers and maritime insurance brokers. Oslo is a pilot city of the Council of Europe and the European Commission intercultural cities programme.
Oslo is considered a global city and was ranked Beta World City in studies carried out by the Globalization and World Cities Study Group and Network in 2008. It was ranked number one in terms of quality of life among European large cities in the European Cities of the Future 2012 report by fDi magazine. A survey conducted by ECA International in 2011 placed Oslo as the second most expensive city in the world for living expenses after Tokyo. In 2013 Oslo tied with the Australian city of Melbourne as the fourth most expensive city in the world, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU)'s Worldwide Cost of Living study. As of 1 July 2017, the municipality of Oslo had a population of 672,061, while the population of the city's urban area of 3 December 2018 was 1,000,467. The metropolitan area had an estimated population of 1.71 million. The population was increasing at record rates during the early 2000s, making it the fastest growing major city in Europe at the time. This growth stems for the most part from international immigration and related high birth rates, but also from intra-n ...
