Phnom Penh WALKING TOUR: AIRPORT to City Center (Budget Travel Cambodia) {Phnom Penh, CAMBODIA}
Budget Travel Cambodia #1
A Phnom Penh walking tour from the airport to the city center, surprisingly, was exhilarating.
Phnom Penh airport to the city center is easy to travel....if public transportation is available. More challenging is to walk the 10 kilometers. After immediately receiving a Cambodia visa on arrival, transportation at Phnom Penh airport is limited after midnight with the only options being an expensive taxi or tuk-tuk ride.
Is Matt prepared to spend $15? No way, as a pleasant Cambodian night provides an immediate, boots-on-the-ground experience to walk through Phnom Penh in the late hours.
There is also a review of the Manor House, a fantastic Phnom Penh hostel.

Pungko-pungko(Squat Dining) The Khmer Way in PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA | Cambodia Vlog Series
07092018 - 07142018
One country, four provinces, six days.
My sisters and I travelled to Cambodia for six days. Our first stop was in Siem Reap. Next we went to Kampot and Kep province. And lastly, travelled back to Phnom Penh. We stayed in Balconitel Boutique Hotel. Luxury for the last two days. Haha!
We didn't exactly go hardcore touring the city. We only went to Central Market (opens at day only) and their Night Market. You should try the food at their night market and do the squat dining.
In terms of haggling, you can't haggle as much as you can in Siem Reap. But it is okay though because the quality in PNH is way better. I would suggest shopping in PNH than in REP if you want good quality (unless you find good quality in REP). On our last day, we were supposed to go to Royal Palace but decided to stay at the hotel instead and went to Lucky Mall right across our hotel to buy Cambodian delicacies.
PNH is a typical city. When riding the tuktuk, you have to be mindful with your electronics or other valuables. Drivers will warn you in using your cellphones inside the tuktuk. We also experienced catcalls. We didnt see much tourists unlike in REP.
The list below is a breakdown of our expenses in Phnom Penh:
Ekareach van (Kampot to PNH) - $8 per person
Tuktuk (terminal to hotel) - $3
Tuktuk (hotel to Central Market) - $3
Tuktuk (night market to hotel) - $3
Tuktuk (hotel to airport) - $8
Lunch (Chicky Rotisserie) - $13
Lunch (Anise Hotel and Restaurant) - $25.5
Dinner (night market) - $11.5

I took a trip to Phnom Penh and started walking the streets. This is what I do in every country that I visit.
I walked around the tourist area and the riverside, mostly. I didn't expect this many tourists to be in Phnom Penh. It's crazy! It felt like there were more tourists than locals, at times! I and not angry at this, in fact - it DOES help the local economy - tremendously! But, as a guy searching for culture - this doesn't help my situation haha, westerners change culture. No exceptions. I guess this means that I must get out of the area a bit ????. I hope to find some authentic Khmer Culture!
I try to feel a culture by walking. I do my best to listen, watch, and understand what people are doing through body language. It's pretty cool. I try to interact with the locals as much as possible - though in this video, there wasn't any interaction.
At night, I visited the Phnom Penh Night Market (Preah Mohaksat Treiyani Kossamak) to see what type of items are sold and how they display everything.
Pretty uneventful day, really. Just fun to explore!
Foreigners are freekin' everywhere!
