This is part 3 of a multipart series which takes us to the beautiful Phu Ruea National Park. Usually Farangs (foreigners) have to pay more than Thais to enter Thailand’s National Parks. I will attempt to get Thai prices and camp in some cool mountain weather.
Every year when winter rolls around I remember the time I lived in Northern Thailand. I always enjoyed the cool air that winters brought in the northern region of Thailand. It's a great time to get out and enjoy the national parks and mountains. If you're in to camping this is a great time of year to do it. We can sleep in the RIPper Mobile but we also enjoy being able to spread out and relax in a tent.

So we’re off on a winter adventure seeking out cooler weather before the hot dry burning season kicks in about mid-February. Our tentative itinerary includes Loei, Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai and a few stops in between at Phu Thap Berk, Phu Ruea National Park and some other cool places.
Come along with us and see what northern Thailand is like in the winter time and check out some of the national parks will be stopping at as well.

Phu Ruea the most beautiful place in Thailand
Phu ruea is one of the districts in Loei province of thailand. Loei is in the North east of Thailand called Isan. Loei is the most beautiful province in Thailand with several mountain national parks and several kilometers of mountain ranges. the neighbouring districts of Dan sai Phu luang are also very beautiful with plenty of gardens, flowers.
this place is best visited in winter season from november to mid february. Most particularly this is visited during the new year holidays by several thousands of visitors. phu ruea has plenty of strawbery fields and flower gardens. It is one of the major source of strawberries to other parts of thailand.
the mountains are filled in all shades of colors especially during winter and probably Loei is the only place in Thailand where one can see the Autumn hues.. The district of Phu Luang is very special for its Sakura festival, the one of its kind in Thailand.
Phu Ruea is easily accessible by buses and private transport. driving through the mountains filled with fresh air and thick clouds leaves one with a very gentle feeling.

Apparently the coldest spot in Thailand, Phu Rua Sunrise Viewpoint in Loei Province of Thailand. Rode up at 5am to catch the sunrise and to our surprise hundreds of local tourists were already there. Entry into National Park is THB 220 for foreigners, ride steep road all the way up to the top.

ผ่านไปแล้วกับเขาค้อ ขับต่อมาอีกประมาณ2ชม. ก็จะถึงตัวอำเภอภูเรือ ใครมาภูเรือแล้วไม่ขึ้นอุทยานถือว่ามาไม่ถึง เพราะมันเป็นเหมือนlandmarkของอำเภอนี้ มากี่ปี ก็ขึ้นทุกปี ถามว่ามันเบื่อมั้ย เบื่อนะ5555555 มาตั้งแต่สมัยยังไม่มีรถสองแถว ต้องเดินขึ้นเอง แต่ขึ้นมาทุกครั้ง แต่ละปีมันคนละ vibes จริงๆ ยกตัวอย่างปีนี้ หมอกลงเยอะมาก แบบเยอะมากๆ ไม่เคยเห็นหมอกลงเยอะขนาดนี้ คือไม่เห็นวิวข้างล่างเลย สวยอีกแบบอารมณ์เหมือนในซีรีย์ดี55555555 ถ้าถามว่าขึ้นตอนไหนดีสุด ช่วงที่ดีที่สุดคือวันปีใหม่ ตอนพระอาทิตย์ขึ้น บรรยากาศดีมากๆ รู้สึกเป็นครั้งแรกที่เขียนอะไรมีสาระ ส่วนอีกที่คือเขตรักษาพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าภูหลวง เวลา search google map ต้องเขียนชื่อเต็มนะ ไม่งั้นหลงไปที่อื่น เพราะหลงมาแล้ว55555555 เป็นอีกที่ๆเราว่ามาภูเรือแล้วต้องไป เพราะว่ามันมหัศจรรย์มาก บนเขาสูงๆ แต่ทรายที่อยู่บนเขา เหมือนทรายที่อยู่ในทะเลเลย ตอนเด็กๆมีคนบอกเราว่าเค้ามีคนขนขึ้นมาเทไว้ แต่มันไม่จริง - - มันเป็นการเปลี่ยนแปลงเค้าเรียกไรนะ แบบ tectonics? ซัมติงนั่นแหละ ถ้าคิดดูดีๆมันสุดยอดมาก เหมือนเราได้เห็นว่าใต้ทะเลเป็นยังไง
Normally when people think of Loei, they will think of Chiang Kan but another thing that you should have not miss is Phu Ruea. It is a small subdistrict in Loei. To be honest, it could be boring if you have to come every year but every single year, even though it was the same place, Phu Ruea has always impress me. Nothing can ever goes wrong with pure nature beauty.
