Pine Mountain Resort State Park, God With Us
Man is not born free. He is born in bondage to sin. Only a fool says in his heart that there is no God, but that is not the only fool. One that has no regrets is also a fool. No one has ever lived a perfect life, except Jesus. I have many regrets, but thank God these chains are gone. I have been set free!! Since I have been set free nature has taken on a different perspective with me. Now I see Gods glory in His creation and it is much more spectacular than my old eyes could ever see. Pine Mountain Resort State Park in southeastern Kentucky is a true reminder of how great our God is. This area has the mark of God all over it. It is truly magnificent. Lucky are the ones that live here!!

I'm Sittin' On Top Of (Pine Mountain) The World
A day trip to the hills of Eastern Kentucky with two of my best friends in the world. We had hoped for a clear day on top of Pine Mountain, but Mother Earth had a different idea, with fog so thick you could cut it with a knife. A beautiful trip along the Little Shepherd's Trail and a stop for an impromptu version of I'm Sittin' On Top Of The World, still made for a wonderful trip. [N.H.]

SUMMARY
=======
Kentucky ( (listen) kən-TUK-ee), officially the Commonwealth of Kentucky, is a state located in the east south-central region of the United States. Although styled as the State of Kentucky in the law creating it, Kentucky is one of four U.S. states constituted as a commonwealth (the others being Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts). Originally a part of Virginia, in 1792 Kentucky became the 15th state to join the Union. Kentucky is the 37th most extensive and the 26th most populous of the 50 United States.
Kentucky is known as the Bluegrass State, a nickname based on the bluegrass found in many of its pastures due to the fertile soil. One of the major regions in Kentucky is the Bluegrass Region in central Kentucky, which houses two of its major cities, Louisville and Lexington. It is a land with diverse environments and abundant resources, including the world's longest cave system, Mammoth Cave National Park, the greatest length of navigable waterways and streams in the contiguous United States, and the two largest man-made lakes east of the Mississippi River.
Kentucky is also known for horse racing, bourbon distilleries, moonshine, coal, the My Old Kentucky Home historic national park, automobile manufacturing, tobacco, bluegrass music, college basketball, and Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Powell Valley Overlook
Powell Valley in southwest Virginia, in the United States, is located near the city of Norton and the town of Big Stone Gap in Wise County, Virginia.
Powell Valley is a picturesque location, with an overlook accessible from the Northbound lanes of U.S. Route 23. A number of homes, farms, and a church are located in the valley below the overlook.
The valley begins between Powell Mountain and Little Stone Mountain where the waters of the Powell River flow down from the rugged mountains of western Wise County. The immense exposed rock face where Stone Mountain and Powell Mountain come together near Grindstone Ridge to the southeast from the overlook, yields a striking visual change in altitude. Within only 0.8 mile the vertical elevation changes by 2,000 feet ( 610 meters ) across the northern face of the Grindstone Ridge Dome of the High Knob Massif, to mark one of the greatest short-distance vertical elevation changes in the southern Appalachians ( the greatest found west of the Blue Ridge in Virginia ).
The valley follows the Powell River west towards the Tennessee border.
Majestic Powell Valley is part of the High Knob Landform, lying literally amid its heart and eroded core, and is a true geologic wonder.
The Virginia longhunter, explorer and later Revolutionary War general Joseph Martin was instrumental in opening up Powell Valley to settlement from the east
