Cedar Point Full Tour - Sandusky, Ohio
Cedar Point is a 364-acre (147 ha) amusement park located on a Lake Erie peninsula in Sandusky, Ohio. Opened in 1870, it is the second-oldest operating amusement park in the United States behind Lake Compounce. Cedar Point is owned and operated by Cedar Fair and is considered the flagship of the amusement park chain. Known as America's Roller Coast, the park features a world-record 72 rides, including 17 roller coasters – the second-most in the world behind Six Flags Magic Mountain. Its newest roller coaster, Steel Vengeance, opened to the public on May 5, 2018.
Cedar Point's normal operating season runs from early May until Labor Day in September. The park then reopens only on weekends until the end of October or early November for a Halloween-themed event known as HalloWeekends. Other attractions near the park include a one-mile-long (1.6 km) white-sand beach, an outdoor water park called Cedar Point Shores, an indoor water park called Castaway Bay, two marinas, an outdoor sports complex called Cedar Point Sports Center, and several nearby resorts.
The park has reached several milestones. It is the only amusement park in the world with six roller coasters taller than 200 feet (61 m) – Magnum XL-200, Millennium Force, Wicked Twister, Top Thrill Dragster, Valravn, and Steel Vengeance – and is the only park with roller coasters in all four height classifications. Cedar Point also received the Golden Ticket Award for Best Amusement Park in the World from Amusement Today for 16 consecutive years from 1997–2013. The park is the most visited seasonal amusement park in the United States with an estimated 3.6 million visitors in 2017.[1] The park also has several buildings that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Drought and Ohio Wine
Stoney Ridge Farm & Winery will have an excellent 2012 wine vintage thanks to the drought this year. The grapes have a higher sugar content and lower acid. The downside is a nearly 70% reduction in yield and the inability to raise prices due to their remote location.

Bourbon spill from Jim Beam warehouse fire moving into Ohio River
Bourbon that leaked from a fire that destroyed a Jim Beam barrel warehouse in Kentucky is making its way to the Ohio River.
State environmental officials say they're assessing wildlife impacts and doing fish kill counts along the waterways near the Woodford County facility.
The Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet says in a release on social media that an alcohol plume from the bourbon runoff in the Kentucky River is approximately 23 miles long.
The aftermath of the bourbon spill was noticeable to those at the Kentucky River campground during the holiday weekend. Hundreds of dead fish riddled the area.
They were fighting and struggling, trying to get to oxygenated water, which was not there, said David Whittaker.
The cabinet says the bourbon should dissipate very quickly once it reaches the much larger body of water.
The river cleanup process is expected to take weeks.
Officials estimate about 45,000 barrels of bourbon were destroyed in the fire that started Tuesday.
It was extinguished over the weekend.

The Master of the World by Jules Verne | Audio book with subtitles
Chief Inspector Strock gets the tough cases. When a volcano suddenly appears to threaten mountain towns of North Carolina amid the non-volcanic Blue Ridge Mountains, Strock is posted to determine the danger. When an automobile race in Wisconsin is interrupted by the unexpected appearance of a vehicle traveling at multiples of the top speed of the entrants, Strock is consulted. When an odd-shaped boat is sighted moving at impossible speeds off the New England coast, Stock and his boss begin to wonder if the incidents are related. And when Strock gets a hand-lettered note warning him to abandon his investigation, on pain of death, he is intrigued rather than deterred.
Set in a period when gasoline engines were in their infancy and automobiles were rare, and when even Chief Inspectors had to engage a carriage and horses to move about, the appearance of a vehicle that can move at astounding speeds on land, on water - and as later revealed, underwater and through the air - marks a technological advance far beyond the reach of nations. It is technology invented by and for the sole benefit of a man who styles himself (with some justification) The Master of the World.
This book is a sequel to an earlier Verne novel, Robur the Conqueror, but enough detail is given to fully appreciate this story without having first read the other. (Summary by Mark)
