Thank you for your support!
Chinese Whispers: Sierra StoriesSM is our pilot production developed as a California Story Fund project of the California Council on the Humanities. It is the result of four years of research and interviews by Artistic and Project Director Rene Yung to unearth and document handed-down folk memories of the Chinese in the Sierra Nevada foothills, and culminated in a multimedia storytelling event presented in collaboration with the Placer Arts Council at the Tower Theater in Roseville, CA, in August, 2009. The event is documented on a DVD.
Nine community tellers ranging from 19 to 90 years of age participated in the event, including 90-year old Adele Bellmer of Loomis who related stories from her family, and Virgil Wong of Grass Valley who acted as a proxy teller for elder members of the Wong family of Rocklin. Stories for the production covered a range of localities in Placer County, from Roseville, Rocklin, Loomis, Auburn, and Colfax, to Dutch Flat.
Rather than trying to re-create complete narratives out of fragmented records, the storytelling script highlights the fragmentary nature of the material in an evocative composition that reveals traces of the historical times, and poetically conveys “what we will never know for certain about these early Chinese men and women who helped build the American West,” as Yung wrote in her Introduction. She also developed the production to reinvigorate community stewardship in this overlooked part of their local history in the fast-changing Sierra Nevada region.

Housing Auburn's Homeless
I'm Mary West your voice in the foothills. What to do about Housing the Homeless in Auburn. The Auburn City Council ran late Monday, the Council Chambers were full as many in the audience were anxious to hear the council's take on properties to be considered for a homeless shelter designation.
During public comment citizens supported a property designation but did not support properties suggested, namely Wall Street was denied as the property owners of the building where the Radio Shack store is located were concerned they would lose this long-term tenant if a homeless shelter was near the location. The other location was across the street from the theaters on Nevada Street. Property owners were concerned about the close proximity to residential housing.
In a recent police ride along I had the opportunity to see where the homeless within the city limits of Auburn are living and I can tell you, your fellow homeless citizens in Auburn are already in your back yard.
It is ironic that the residents don't want to see a homeless shelter in their neighborhood where they can keep an eye on it. Residents fear the smoking, drinking and potential crime that is associated with homeless residents. But without a shelter you can see that you will have the same activities hidden from your view but right behind your house literally within feet of homes.
Ultimately, council members decided to take a closer look at the city for new site possibilities. City council member Keith Nesbitt suggested they get in their cars and drive around.
Homeless shelter :28 Q...in time
The council has a deadline from the state under SB2 of October 31st to designate specific properties in a property overlay of the city or they can designate a zone such as light industrial within the city where a potential future homeless shelter could be constructed.
One important change to the Planning Commission decision that the council says it will reverse was to grandfather in the activities of the Gathering Inn. The Inn, on occasions of inclement weather, will house upwards of 60 or 70 and more in various local churches throughout the city. The decision from the Planning Commission was to limit the activities of the Gathering inn to only 20 beds as would be the city's amended ordinance. The topic of Housing the Homeless will be back on the next council agenda with new potential sites.

We Help You Understand the Bail Bonds Process
Frank S. Calabretta's Bail House Bail Bonds understands that when a person is arrested it can be a confusing and emotional time for families and friends. That's why it's important to understand how bail bonds work:
Bail must be paid in order for someone who has been arrested to be released until a later court appearance. You may obtain freedom for a friend or relative without posting the full bail amount by arranging for a bail bondsman such as Frank S. Calabretta's Bail House Bail Bonds to post the bail bond for you.
The cost of the bail bond, which is set by law at 10 percent of the bail amount, is paid up front and is known as the premium. Once the bail agent is paid the premium, the bail agent guarantees payment of the bail amount in full should the person who has been arrested not show up for the next scheduled court appearance.
The bail agent then arranges for the jail to release the defendant.

6/20/2015 Saturday: Meeting us at the Griffith Quarry Museum were the Pulse of 209 Task Force and HPI Paranormal Investigator Kris Hansen.
SOME HISTORY:
Penryn Granite Works Office and quarry was established by Griffith Griffith, a native of Wales in 1864. The park has three miles of trails, picnic sites and views of the old quarry pits.
The quarry produced high-quality granite used to construct many buildings in San Francisco and Sacramento, including parts of the California State Capitol. The 23 acres (9.3 ha) that surround the 2-story building, made of granite blocks, are the remains of the quarry and its polishing mill. This mill was the first successful granite polishing mill in California.
While quarry workers worked on this high quality granite, there were many accidents and there were deaths. Special Note: If there was accidents, this tells me that there should be residual energy that repeats itself over and over again. If there were deaths, then there is most likely some intelligent energy here. Leo Tanaka, a Loomis resident says that late at night, you can hear banging on the rocks, he calls the banging, the work of the Tommy Knockers. When you approach the rock where you can hear the banging, the banging suddenly stops.
Gerald Reeves of Auburn says that in one of the quarry locations, he witnessed 2 granite miners pounding on the rocks. Gerald thought the miners were actors and called out to them. The 2 miners looked up at him and then vanished into thin air.
The office of the quarry is now the Griffith Quarry Museum that contains history about the site as well as other local history. Some of the original furniture of the Griffith Quarry is intact.
THE INVESTIGATION:
We walked around the quarry and made several stops to conduct EVP sessions. Kris Hansen's Ovilus says abyss and Deanna feels something in a deep cliff side. We follow the trail and stop at a pile of rocks. We capture two possible EVPs. At another part of the trail, we capture a CLASS B EVP in which the entity is saying okay, turn around, I'm here.

Hey let's talk about Placer County California's Knife Ordinance as far as I can find there is only one and its location specific.
So here it is in Chapter 12 called Roads, Highways & Public Places there is Article 12.24 called County Parks there is section 12.24.010 called General. There is may sub sections the knife related sub section H. States It is unlawful for any person to have possession of a weapon or to shoot, discharge, or fire any bullet, arrow, or other projectile into, over, or on any county-owned or county-operated park.
Now there isn't anything specific that says knives but the term weapon is vague enough that some LEO could use it against you for carrying a knife. So to be safe it's probably best not wear a knife in this county's parks other than that no restrictions. Now remember you still have to abide by your city &state knife codes. Along with your county codes.
As always I am not a lawyer & these videos are strictly for informational Purposes only if you need real legal advice seek out a criminal lawyer. As Always read & keep a copy of all pertaining knife laws for yourself. Practice stating them so you sound confident & intelligent when you say them. Remember you are your own best advocate, stopping the process at the initial contact is far better than wining a court case after lots of legal action. Well that's it for now, bye for now.
Placerqatsi
Inspired by director Ron Fricke's films, Koyaanisqatsi, Baraka, and Chronos, Placerqatsi is a look at life in Placer County, California. Qatsi is the Hopi word life giving Placerqatsi's the simple meaning Life in Placer County. Ordinary human activities seem boring and mundane until seen in a different time scale revealing a pattern and rhythm of movement not otherwise apparent. Placer county activities captured over a one year time span are shown as if they occurred during a prototypical single day. People are shown working, playing, eating and shopping in the midst of the natural beauty that surrounds them.
