A super great day in Rhode Island ~ Brenton Point ~ Judith Point Light House ~ Black Point
Today (11/23/12) we headed down to Newport Rhode Island to visit one of my favorite place,, Brenton Point,,, due to Hurricane Sandy.. Part of Ocean Drive was closed off! There was a lot of erosion. We were able to park in the visitors center and walk along the rocks. It was Chilly and Windy while we were at Brenton Point in the morning. Afterwards we decided to check out Point Judith Light House. We have never been here before! It was much warmer there. The Sun was shining and the water looked so beautiful. We walked around the US Department of Homeland Security Coast Guard Station Point Judith. There were a bunch of people surfing. As we headed home we found another new place to visit that I absolutely loved called Black Point. WOW what a view of the Atlantic Ocean you get here! I can't wait to come back here come Spring time when the flowers are blooming on one side of the trail and you are able to see the Atlantic of the other side.
It sure was great to get out for a day of connecting with nature!

In My Footsteps: Narragansett, RI.
A short video of a summer 2010 trip to Narragansett, Rhode Island. Featured are The Towers and Point Judith Light. The Towers are the only remaining piece of the Narragansett Pier Casino which burned down in 1900. The current Point Judith Lighthouse was built in 1856 and was painted half brown and half white to make it easier to see during the day. it sits on the grounds of the Coast Guard Station.

Plum Beach Lighthouse
They're is nothing more Rhode Island than vanity plates. Rather than the low numbers or one that reads 2HOT4U, Rhode Islanders are being asked to adorn their cars with a local landmark, to which many have never even been. In some ways, it's like a monet, magestic and beautiful from far away, but up close, the Plum Beach Lighthouse is another story.
