Welcome to Point Reyes National Seashore! On this vlog, we take a road trip from San Francisco up the California Coast to the Point Reyes Peninsula, one of the most scenic drives in the Bay Area. We visit the iconic Cypress Tunnel, a local cheese shop called Cowgirl Creamery, followed by Drake's Bay, and even a Czechoslovakian Restaurant called Vladimir's.
Lastly, we head back to downtown San Francisco to work from some of the city's best cafes.

With some drone shots from above, we enjoy a midday stop-shop-and-lunch at rural tourist destination Point Reyes Station where Prince Charles and Camilla visited on their honeymoon tour. When you're in the area of the Point Reyes National Seashore and Samuel P Taylor redwoods, this charming city is a fun place to checkout their shops and have a delicious meal with cool nearby ocean temperatures. Autos, campers and the RVers in the area can also fill 'er up if they don't mind the premium prices.

Point Reyes Lighthouse Tour
Old original amazing lighthouse built in Paris in 1867, operating continuously from 1870 to 1975 at Pt. Reyes, CA. This day, January 22, 2011, is in the whale watching season and whale spouts were visible all day long from this beautiful point in the far west of the California coast. Talk about far left, this point is on a different continent, the Pacific shelf, separated from the North American shelf by the San Andreas Fault and Tomales Bay. Pt. Reyes is basically a Pacific Island with its own flora and fauna, having crept up 6 inches a year from Baja California, via the fault, over the last 100,000 years.

We rode across the Golden Gate Bridge, into Sausalito, along the bike path, up and down Camino Alto, through Corte Madera, Ross, and San Anselmo (with a bike detour due to the San Anselmo Art and Wine Festival.) We crossed through Fairfax, climbed White's hill, and then stayed on a Sir Francis Drake for a while, passing Lagunitas and through Samuel P. Taylor Park before turning onto Highway 1 in Olema and ending at Point Reyes Station. I had a delicious cheese stick pastry and orange juice from Bovine Bakery.

U-turn to the Point Reyes lighthouse!
Today, We went to Point Reyes National Seashore! It was a long and crazy day but the view was worth it. Its about an hour and a half North of San Francisco, took N-101 to Route 1 which is a long and winding road, the view is amazing during daytime but i do not recommended driving in at night because the road is pretty narrow. It has been raining lately, so there’s also some flooded area so be careful driving. We wanted to go to the Lighthouse first, but missed our turn to Drakes Beach. POV’s are not allowed to the lighthouse road, unless you have special permits. So we got rerouted ended up at the South beach, a beautiful ocean view with big crazy waves. After taking few pictures, we drove back to Drakes Beach and purchase a ticket $7/person, which allows you ride the bus to the lighthouse then it goes to Chimney rock which is the second stop and then back to the visitor center. At the lighthouse, we had to walk about 0.4miles from the bus stop to the top of the lighthouse, then it’s about 308 steps down. We didn't know that theres gonna be hiking involved and that theres no food/store near by, we forgot to bring some snacks but good thing is we did bring water bottle. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND bring some food and water! After one hour, we hiked back to the bus stop and decided to go back to Drakes Beach. We arrived at the parking lot around 03:30PM, next destination is Cypress tree tunnel and Shipwreck so stay tuned for the next video.

Tomales Bay Travel Guide | California Travel Tips
Go on a tour of beautiful Tomales Bay with California travel guide Veronica Hill in this episode of California Travel Tips.
Located 30 miles north of San Francisco, along scenic Highway 1, Tomales Bay stretches 15 miles from Bodega Bay to Point Reyes Station. Marshall boasts just 400 residents, and is dotted with weathering dairy farms, rustic oyster stands, and charming waterfront inns.
One of the best is Nicks' Cove, a cluster of 1930s cottages that has quickly become one of San Francisco's hottest weekend escapes.
This has been and continues to be the place that people come up Highway 1, and they stop and they stay and they eat and they drink and have a really good time, says Dena Grunt, general manager.
We're staying in Bandit's Bungalow, a two-bedroom waterfront cottage that's perfect for families. Not only does it have a fully stocked bar, but there are heated bathroom floors, a private deck, and a wood-burning stove. Your stay comes with a welcome delivery of their famous BBQd oysters in the afternoon, followed by a delicious continental breakfast in the morning.
Nick's Cove has 12 different cottages to choose from. Five sit on the waterfront, and seven sit just across the highway in a eucalyptus grove. If you can't stay the night, be sure to make a reservation for dinner. Executive chef Austin Perkins, an alum of the Michelin-starred Cyrus in Healdsburg, serves up a delicious seafood menu using the bounty of local farms. Start out with an oyster sampler, then dig in to Austin's decadent crab mac n cheese.
While you're here, the great outdoors beckons. You can hop in a fishing boat, go on a kayaking tour of the bay, or cycle down Highway 1. Foodies shouldn't miss Hog Island Oyster Company, where you can shuck and smoke your own Tomales Bay oysters along the waterfront. One of our favorite stops is Cowgirl Creamery in Point Reyes Station. Housed in a restored barn below the bay, Cowgirl Creamery is celebrated for its artisan California cheese, served in top restaurants throughout the state. Foodies flock to this charming cheese shop to stock up on fresh-made fromage, take a class, or take part in their weekly cheese-making tours.
After a day of exploring Tomales Bay, head back to the comforts of Nick's Cove, where you can head out to the pier and enjoy the beautiful California sunset.

The Marshall Store Oyster si trova a Point Reyes, nella Marine County, circa 50 km a nord di San Francisco. Vi suggerisco di andare a Point Reyes nel primo pomeriggio e fare una passeggiata fino al Lighthouse Point Reyes, costruito nel 1870, e da lì avrete una bella vista sul mare.

Ero lì con i miei amici di San Francisco che hanno ordinato per me, abbiamo scelto Ostriche fresche con succo di limone, ostriche al bbq e una zuppa di vongole calda. Volendo hanno anche il pane fresco, formaggi e molti altri tipi di pesce freschissimo. Dopo avere ordinato, se ci andate in estate o in una bella giornata di sole la cosa migliore è quella di sedersi fuori sui barili e guardare il mare.
Non è la prima volta che mangio ostriche fresche, le ho provate anche in sud Italia molte volte, ma il gusto qui era clamoroso.
E' stato invece la prima volta delle ostriche al bbq e consiglio a tutti quelli che sono nella zona di San Francisco, di visitare The Marshall Store e prendere questa specialità.
La zuppa di vongole era molto buona, ma è meglio quella a San Francisco Union Square.
