Jasen Hanisch of Montrose, South Dakota, United States. I live in a small town in South Dakota of about 450 people. My Christmas light display really brings our community together at Christmas time. We are just getting started on our display as we have only been doing this for about 4 years. We currently have 6 - LOR 16 channel controllers totalling 96 channels. We have over 50,000 lights displayed including a 24 ft Mega Tree that totals 24,200 lights. This takes 100 amps and over 5000 ft of extension cord to make this show a success. We build every year trying to make the show better and better for our town. Last year (2015), we dedicated the light show to a community's family as they had a little boy that had an inoperable tumor in his brain - our community rallied to raise money for this family with the utilization of our display. This year we recieved some local attention from a larger city (Sioux Falls, SD) which is about 30 miles east of our town. It has been so much fun hearing all the wonderful comments from our facebook posts, the people that come by to watch, and from our local newspaper - The Montrose Herald. We look forward to continue to build our display larger and better every year.. See how it's done at Light-O-Rama.
