Employees of the State Historical Museum of the Chelyabinsk Region reported a “spontaneously” rising dome over a fragment of the Chelyabinsk meteorite, which fell in 2013. The press secretary of the museum, Aivar Valeev, wrote about this on his Facebook page. The official act states that on December 14 at 15:30 local time, boxing itself opened before the eyes of the museum attendant. The alarm went off at the guard post, after which a guard, an electrician, and an employee on duty came in place. Then the dome was closed using the remote control. The incident also captured surveillance cameras.
Defending Earth from Asteroids with Neil deGrasse Tyson
There are about a million near-Earth asteroids that are large enough to substantially damage or destroy a major city, as evidenced by the explosion over Chelyabinsk, Russia, in February 2013 of a meteor no bigger than a large truck, which injured more than 1,000 people.
With current space technology, scientists know how to deflect the majority of hazardous near-Earth objects. But prevention is only possible if nations work together on detection and deflection. Learn about the risks, and the steps that are needed to avoid these potential natural disasters, from a group of astronauts and cosmonauts who recently helped develop recommendations to the United Nations for defending Earth from asteroid impact in this discussion.
This program, which was streamed live on the web, took place at the American Museum of Natural History on October 25, 2013, the same week the United Nations General Assembly adopted measures creating an international decision-making mechanism for planetary asteroid defense. The event was co-hosted by the American Museum of Natural History and the Association of Space Explorers (ASE).
Neil deGrasse Tyson, who is the Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium, hosted the discussion with participants Thomas Jones, former NASA astronaut, senior research scientist at the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition, and Association of Space Explorers (ASE) Near Earth Objects Committee member; Russell Schweickart, former NASA astronaut, ASE co-founder and Near Earth Objects Committee member, and co-founder and chairman emeritus of the B612 Foundation; Dumitru-Dorin Prunariu, former Romanian astronaut, ASE co-founder and Near Earth Objects Committee member, and vice president of the European International Institute for Risk, Security, and Communication Management; Edward Lu, former NASA astronaut, ASE Near Earth Objects Committee member, and co-founder, chairman, and CEO of the B612 Foundation; and Soichi Noguchi, engineer and JAXA astronaut, and ASE Near Earth Objects Committee member.

W/S Vladimir Putin welcoming Irina Bukova
SOT, Vladimir Putin, (Russian): This year we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the accession of Russia, of the Soviet Union, to UNESCO, and next year we will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the organisation. We always worked and continue to work very closely, always supported and we intend to support the work of UNESCO in the future. I want to say that we are actively developing our cultural ties with the world. Now there is an international forum - Forum of Culture, representatives of 40 countries take part in it, this is a very good and beneficial international event.
W/S Vladimir Putin speaking to Irina Bokova
SOT, Irina Bokova, Director-General

Krik Krikorian's Interview
Nerses “Krik” Krikorian was born in Turkey in 1921. He was brought to North America at the age of four, escaping the aftermath of the Armenian genocide. After graduating from college, Krikorian worked for Union Carbide in Niagara Falls, NY during World War II. In 1946, he was approached to work at Los Alamos to build polonium initiators for one year. He ended up staying in Los Alamos, where he still resides today, and even helped to write the charter to govern the town. In this interview, he remembers his childhood and experiences as the eldest son in an immigrant family. He also discusses his work at Los Alamos and his involvement in laboratory-to-laboratory cooperation with the Soviet Union at the end of the Cold War.
World of Tanks - Object 279: The Warrior of the Apocalypse
How did the Soviet Union develop a new generation of heavy tanks to replace the legendary IS-2, IS-3, IS-4, and T-10? What advantages did the Object 279 have thanks to its “flying saucer” shape? How did the unusual design of the running gear affect its movement capabilities? What was the fate of the Object 279 and which of the produced models is preserved at the Kubinka tank museum?

R-36 (missile)
The R-36 (Russian: Р-36) is a family of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) and space launch vehicles designed by the Soviet Union during the Cold War. The original R-36 was produced under the Soviet industry designation 8K67 and was given the NATO reporting name SS-9 Scarp. It was able to carry three warheads and was the first Soviet MIRV (multiple independently targetable reentry vehicle) missile. The later version, the R-36M was produced under the GRAU indices designations 15A14 and 15A18 and was given the NATO reporting name SS-18 Satan. This missile was viewed by certain U.S. analysts as giving the Soviet Union first strike advantage over the U.S., particularly because of its very heavy throw weight and extremely large number of re-entry vehicles. Some versions of the R-36M were deployed with 10 warheads and up to 40 penetration aids and the missile's high throw-weight made it theoretically capable of carrying more warheads or penetration aids. Contemporary U.S. missiles, such as the Minuteman III, carried up to three warheads at most.

WW2 Russian Tanks : IS 3 Russian Heavy Tank
Uploaded for research and informational purposes only.
here are two tanks known as IS-3: Object 244 was an IS-2 rearmed with the long-barrelled 85 mm cannon (D-5T-85-BM) and developed by LKZ (in Leningrad), which was never series-produced for service use.
Object 703 was developed in late 1944 by ChTZ (in Chelyabinsk) and left the factory shop in May 1945.[24] This tank had an improved armour layout, and a semi-hemispherical cast turret (resembling an upturned soup bowl) which became the hallmark of post-war Soviet tanks. While this low, hemispherical turret improved protection, it also significantly diminished the headroom, especially for the loader. The low turret also limited the maximum depression of the main gun, since the gun breech had little room inside the turret to elevate, and this limited the extent to which the IS-3 could take advantage of hull-down positions compared to higher Western tanks.[25] The IS-3's pointed prow earned it the nickname Shchuka (Pike) by its crews. It weighed slightly less and stood 30 centimetres (12 in) lower than previous versions. Wartime production resulted in many mechanical problems and a hull weldline that had a tendency to crack open.[26]
The IS-3 came too late to see action in World War II. The first public demonstration of the IS-3 came on 7 September 1945 during the Allied victory parade on Charlottenburger Straße in Berlin, with the heavily reinforced 71st Guards Heavy Tank Regiment of the 2nd Guards Tank Army.[24] Starting in 1960, the IS-3 was slightly modernized as the IS-3M, in a manner similar to the IS-2M.
Jagdtiger Vs. IS-3-Which was Better? (Videos)
Jagdtiger (Hunting Tiger) is the common name of a German heavy tank destroyer of World War II. The official German designation was Panzerjäger Tiger Ausf. B as it was based on a lengthened Tiger II chassis. The ordnance inventory designation was Sd. Kfz. 186. The 71-tonne Jagdtiger was the heaviest armored fighting vehicle used operationally during World War II and is the heaviest armored vehicle of any type to achieve series production. The vehicle carried a 128 mm PaK 44 L/55 main gun, capable of out-ranging and defeating any fielded Allied tank. It saw service in small numbers from late 1944 to the end of the war on both the Western and Eastern Front. Tiger ace Otto Carius commanded a company of Jagdtigers. His post-war memoir provides a rare combat history of the Jagdtigers that were under his command. Although 150 were ordered, only between 77 and 88 were produced. Due to an excessive weight, the Jagdtiger was continuously plagued with mechanical problems. Today, three Jagdtigers survive in museums.
There are two tanks known as IS-3. IS-3 (Objekt 244) was an IS-2 rearmed with the long-barrelled 85mm cannon (D-5T-85-BM). It was developed by LKZ (in Leningrad) and was not taken in service. IS-3 (Object 703) was developed in late 1944 by ChTZ (in Chelyabinsk) and left the factory shop in May 1945.[21] This tank had an improved armour layout, and a semi-hemispherical cast turret (resembling an overturned soup bowl) which became the hallmark of post-war Soviet tanks. While this low, hemispherical turret improved protection, it also significantly diminished the working headroom, especially for the loader (Soviet tanks in general are characterized by uncomfortably small interior space compared to Western tanks; however, this was addressed by Soviet recruitment criteria, which classified recruits' eligibility by numerous parameters, and specified that only very short men be drafted to serve in tank crews). The low turret also limited the maximum depression of the main gun, since the gun breech had little room inside the turret to pivot on its vertical axis. As a result, the IS-3 was less able to take advantage of hull-down positions than Western tanks.[22] The IS-3's pointed prow earned it the nickname Shchuka (Pike) by its crews. It weighed slightly less and stood 30 centimetres (12 in) lower than previous versions. Wartime production resulted in many mechanical problems and a hull weldline that had a tendency to crack open.[23]

The Yaroslavl Eye Clinic 1903
The patron of the Yaroslavl Eye Hospital was the famous Yaroslavl ophthalmologist Ivan Katsaurov. Katsaurov had attended upon Empress Alexandra Feodorovna and had been offered a post as Court Doctor. He declined the invitation, citing the need to treat patients in Yaroslavl.
The city authorities provided a site for the hospital, for free, on the bank of the River Volga and the provincial architect, A.A. Nikiforov was contracted to design the Russian style building.
The hospital was opened in 1903 and provided free medical care for the poor and restoring sight to dozens of patients.
The good doctor died in December 1914.
The hospital continued to operate, well after the Revolution………..

AUDIO FILES WERE MESSED UP DURING THE RENDER, SORRY =
You can vote here, if you wish -
====================================
I overestimated my abilities and that resulted in this giant failure. I was the only animator on the project and as the result i failed to meet the deadline with the fully completed video.
That is why i was rendering in last minute and didn't have time to check the video and re-upload it. Prior to that my 1080p render failed because of the another my mistake and that caused the chain reaction. I had to render it again and because of that i haven't enough time to polish animation and i had to get rid of a few scenes. Then the audio files messed up during the rendering. There are missing pharases and sounds.
I am sorry about that and i am ashamed of myself because i let down the people who helped me during the process of creating this video. There is no excuse for that. I will upload a proper version later, I hope i will make up for my mistakes that way, a least a little bit. Full credits below.

Metal Gear Solid 2: 30th Anniversary Remaster Movie [4K 60FPS]
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty holds a special place in my heart. Its story captivated me in ways that few others had, and it showed me how powerful can video games be as an art form.
I want fans and newcomers to experience its story in the best way possible, which is why I started this project.
This is my way to thank the creators of the Metal Gear franchise and celebrate its third-decade anniversary.
This remaster aims to combine the faithful visuals and sounds of the original PS2 version of the game with the high definition tweaks that the HD Collection brought to the PS3 and Xbox 360, while also recreating most of the 2D elements and FMVs from scratch and integrating some new ideas into the Codec conversations.
FEATURES
----------------
All cutscenes/gameplay footage were recorded at native 4K 60fps with FXAA and color grading shaders.
PS2: 512x448; PS3: 1280x720, 2x MSAA
Most FMVs were recreated from scratch in 4K and 60fps.
PS2: 512x320; PS3: 1280x720 (mostly upscaled/stretched to 16:9, except in a few rare occasions)
The Codec design and presentation were changed. I modified the post-processing filters to make the characters’ faces look sharper and less noisy, and I introduced a few new ideas and concepts. The FMVs used on the Codec calls were also recreated.
I used the highest accuracy settings in the PCSX2 emulator to ensure that the visuals are as faithful to the original PS2 version as possible.
The HD Collection lacked some post-processing effects like tone mapping and cross-fading; and some elements like the rain drops, Snake’s optic camouflage reflection and particles, and the heat waves effect were slightly downgraded. All these issues are absent in the PCSX2 emulator.
In order to keep the cinematography and FOVs intact, I rendered all cutscenes in their original 4:3 aspect ratio (with letterboxing), and cropped them to fit the whole screen (~1.85:1). I only used widescreen hacks for the gameplay segments.
I used the original PS2 audio files for all the cutscenes and dialogs, as the rest of ports and versions suffer from audio mixing issues.
PS2: MS-ADPCM 4 bits & Dolby AC-3 5.1; PS3: [Transcoded] ATRAC3 (Poor mixing on MGS2, MGS3 sounds fine)
Subtitles will be included in the video [YOU’LL BE ABLE TO CHOOSE YOUR LANGUAGE WITH THE CC BUTTON]
I will try to include as many subtitles as possible, but you are all welcome to contribute adding more languages or fixing mistakes.
At the time of writing, the following languages are planned:
English [ALREADY INCLUDED]
French
Russian (Using the translation made by ExclusivE Studio)
Spanish
I might also add German and Italian subtitles, which are already included in the original game.
This project was entirely made using open-source software

Kate Brown interviewed about Plutopia: the Great Soviet and American Plutonium Disasters
FOR ACCURATE ENGLISH SUBTITLES CLICK the CC ICON
Credit for this interview goes to Mike McCormick's show Talking Stick TV. Republished here in order to add the subtitles.
Do we all live in Plutopia? This is perhaps the disturbing question implied by Kate Brown’s book. By describing the towns where Americans and Soviets made plutonium for their nuclear weapons, she raises troubling questions about how the project influenced all urban design and social structures of the post-nuclear world. We are all participants in the plutonium economy. She says toward the end of this interview, “… this epitomizes a lot of shifts we find in American society in the post-war years… making these kinds of exchange, of body rights, rights over one’s body, and civil rights and freedoms for consumer rights and financial security, and national security made sense to a lot of Americans, not just people in Richland.”
T-72
The T-72 is a Soviet second-generation main battle tank that entered production in 1971. It was developed directly from Obyekt-172, and shares parallel features with the T-64A. The T-72 was one of the most widely produced post–World War II tanks, second only to the T-54/55 family.
