Central to Light City is the BGE Light Art Walk which follows the waterfront promenade around the Inner Harbor and Harbor East, featuring attractions such as illuminated sculptures, projections, interactive technologies, performances, concerts, food vendors and a dedicated children’s area.

Baltimore: Anatomy Of An American City | Rewind
The election of the first black US president in 2009 offered hope to millions of African Americans across the country – and the eastern city of Baltimore was no exception. But in the intervening years, any hope that inner-city Baltimore residents may have held has been further eroded by a downward spiral of poverty, high incarcerations and worsening race relations.
The 2015 death in police custody of a young black man, Freddie Gray, saw the city erupt into race riots, looting and arson. In 2017, violent crime peaked, with 343 homicides – the highest number by far of any American city per capita.
In 2018, REWIND re-visits Al Jazeera's 2012 Faultlines investigation, Baltimore: Anatomy of an American City. Though still beset by a culture of violence and drugs, Rewind talks to 42-year-old Tyree Colion, a former gang member who has set up No Shoot Zones. His aim is to reduce homicide rates in the city, one negotiation at a time.
I go out there in the gang members’ face and say what it is… I say ‘if you really run it, these are what areas not to shoot in. You decide what areas have suffered enough.
Tyree Colion, Former Gang Member/Founder No Shoot Zones
I go out there in the gang members' face and say what it is… I say 'if you really run it, these are what areas not to shoot in. You decide what areas have suffered enough. You decide what area a little girl got shot in and the neighbourhood was traumatised, so now you put up a No Shoot Zone. You either deal with it or you get dealt with, and they listen.
Joblessness, poverty and a decades-long war on drugs have led to mass incarcerations that have relegated American blacks to a kind of caste system comparable to slavery, says author and law professor, Michelle Alexander:
We have a school-to-prison pipeline operating in Baltimore and in other cities across the nation where young people, with some good reason, believe their destiny lies behind bars and they too will become members of the under caste.
With drug addicted or incarcerated parents, many adolescents drop out of school, leaving them few options to earn a living. It's a direct hit to the nuclear family that leaves Baltimore's youth with few options to make money.
the way the game is rigged, they can’t win. The number of guys that actually survive the corner, to get into the mid-level drug dealing that will get them away from the corner are few and far between.
Ed Burns, Former Baltimore Detective/Writer TV series 'The Wire'
What they have is no choice, says Ed Burns, the former Baltimore detective and school teacher who went on to write the hit television series, The Wire, and the way the game is rigged, they can't win. The number of guys that actually survive the corner, to get into the mid-level drug dealing that will get them away from the corner are few and far between.
Anonymously, a Baltimore resident and former drug dealer says that dealing drugs is the only default option for inner city youth trying to earn a living.
Hopefully I can be in a better position where I can find something positive to do, he says, but if I have nothing to do, I have to resort to what I know.
The war on drugs gained traction in the eighties, under the presidency of Ronald Reagan. Since then, and through successive administrations, increasing numbers of black males have been incarcerated on drug-related charges.
For Ernest Shaw, a muralist and educator who grew up during the Reagan years, and during Baltimore's crack epidemic, federal policies have offered little help.
I believe Obama did what he could. I didn't have any unrealistic expectations of the first so-called black president. But those folks who are really catching hell are going to catch hell regardless of who is in the presidency.

Exploring the grounds of an abandoned theme park repurposed as a state park was one of my favoite adventures yet! The park was called Bay Shore Park and opened in 1906 and actually opened byt the United Railways and Electric Company to move more traffic onto their trollys on weekends since most people had no need for them aside from work. The park ran until 1947 and was a huge hit but Bethlehem Steel bought and tore down the park. There is so much Maryland history here and now that it is owned and protected as a state park it is open for everyone to experience. If you are ever in the greater Baltimore area, North Point State Park is a must!

Trip to Baltimore - The Inner Harbor
Our first full day in Baltimore, spent walking around the inner harbor and visiting all the usuals around it, like the It's Sugar store, the Barnes & Noble Power Plant , the street performer area, the Cheesecake Factory, the USS Constellation, and a very enjoyable dinner at Kona Grill near the Convention Center.
Even found out they're building up a brand new skyscraper in the inner harbor as well at 414 Light Street! Got to see the crane moving about and lifting and lowering things.
Registration for BronyCon 2017 was in the afternoon, though nothing officially started until the next day.
Keep up for the next portion of the journey.
And subscribe for more traveling adventures!

A short video I took of the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland.
Christmas of the 1950's & 1960's in Baltimore Maryland!
This is Christmas Home movies in the 1950's & 1960. Look at those toys of yesteryear! There was plenty of snow back then! The last scene is our shore Home. Back then Stoney Creek use to freeze every year. Now, because of the power plants, it's rare if it freezes. Sorry there's no sound. This is the old 8mm film digitized. I hope you enjoy some of my Family Memories!

Maryland Energy | Deregulation Pricing Factors
Maryland Energy Deregulation Pricing Factors:
What 3 Factors Affect Energy prices in Maryland?
Understanding the factors of what drives energy prices in Maryland can help improve your understanding of how and when energy purchases is important for businesses and consumers seeking to financially benefit from electricity deregulation in the Baltimore and surrounding areas. There are both short-term and long-term factors affecting the price of energy; the short-term being weather, gas storage levels, and the economy contribute to the cost of your gas and electric.
• Weather: According to industry analysts, if the winter weather is mild, then prices can drop or remain at a certain level, rather than increasing. If the winter is colder and harsher than expected, then prices could increase and remain high throughout the colder months.
• Gas Storage Levels: The working gas volumes in underground natural gas storage facilities affect both natural gas and electricity prices. The volume of gas in storage changes based on supply and demand, as well as how much natural gas is produced and placed in storage by drilling companies throughout the year. Supply and demand cycles for natural gas can fluctuate based on weather, since natural gas is a primary fuel for winter heating, as well as how many gas-fired power plants are online, since natural gas is also used to generate electricity.
• The Economy: The constant changes to the state of the United States economy can affect supply and demand, which can drive prices up or down, depending on a recessed or recovering economy. Increased economic activity can result in an increase in new business districts and residential zones, which increases the demand for gas and electric and can cause prices to rise over time.
In the long-term, natural gas demand, weather and the state of the U.S. economy all contribute to regional electric and gas prices.
