Wiener Prater / Vienna Prater 2019
Wiener Prater / Vienna Prater is one of my favourite parks, so it deserves a thorough examination when it comes to making a video! This musical extravaganza is approx half an hour, and includes many POVs; the five ghost-trains, 3 spinning coasters, 2 indoor coasters, 3 wild mouse coasters, 3 family dark rides, 5 fun-houses, 2 giant wheels, 3 go-kart tracks, 5 dodgems/auto scooters, Xtasy, Black Mamba, Tornado, Century Starflyer, drop tower, shot tower, bungee tower, ... and many more!
The 2019 season plays host for 'Testrecke', the twin-looping coaster from Schwarzkopf, and the Air Maxx Fighter from Mondial, which as the time of filming in April 2019, seems to be having trouble building-up, and sadly wasn't open!

The main reason I love Prater is its atmosphere. Its open 24/7/365, the attractions are owned by separate concessionaires, each with their own opening hours and ticket prices. As such you won't experience long queues, instead you'll find the attractions competing for your attention with lighting theming, music, MCs etc
With the Funtime offices on site, Prater tends to be their testing grounds for their unusual prototypes, but there are many unique and quirky attractions, and equally bizarre artworks dotted around.
Of course, there are numerous restaurants, cafe's, bars, coffee-shops, ice-cream parlours, chocolatiers, street food stands and treat stalls, adding tastes and inviting aromas. On a pleasantly warm evening, Prater has the atmosphere of times gone by, for those old enough to remember, its like Pleasure Beach on a summers' evening in 1994!
Put mildly, I cannot recommend this park enough!
As ever, I wanted appropriate music from local artists! Strauss's waltzes were composed for dancing and promenading in Wiener Prater. Falco was Austria's biggest star in the 80s, and Siegfried Translateur's 'Wiener Praterleber' translates (!) as Vienna Prater love. Mad as a box of frogs, this opening piece suits the Prater like no other.

My wife, myself and my in-laws travelled to Vienna and took a whirlwind tour of the city in the scorching heat of summer.
Here is a full tour of Praterstern station which is served by two lines of the Viennese U-bahn as well as four lines of the Viennese S-bahn.

Aqua Gaudi ist eine Wildwasserbahn auf dem Wiener Prater. Die Maya-Thematisierung ist recht knapp gehalten, aber die Länge der Bahn ist mit 420 Metern TOP! Auch die 3 Abfahrten sind super!

In hollowed out bamboo trunks, an old Mayan city is passed through.
