Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden (QSBG)
In 1992, the Thai Government set up the Botanical Garden Organization
(BGO) to strengthen botanical research and ex situ conservation of Thailand valuable plant resource. The BGO has a status of a state enterprise under the Prime Minister's Office. In October 2002, as the result of state sectors reform, the BGO was transferred to be under the responsibility of a new Ministry - Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden (QSBG), or formerly known as Mae Sa
Botanic Garden, is the first botanical garden of the country at international standards for there are scientific basis and purposes for the collections, and the provision of botanical education and research. In 1994, the BGO received the honor from HM the Queen to grant a royal permission to name this northern botanic garden after Her Majesty 's name as Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden.
The main objectives of the Garden are to serve as a center of Thai flora
for botanical study and research, to render services concerning biodiversity and environmental conservation, as well as to provide an aesthetic place for the general public.
Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden is located 27 km NW of Chiang Mai Province, at the edge of Doi Suthep-Pui National Park. It has an area of about 1,000 ha. With its wide collection of plant species, 12 exhibition greenhouses, garden and nature trails, educational and research activities, there is so much to learn and enjoy while you are here. Please come and visit us.

Doi Pui Village near the top of Doi Pui (Doi means mountain in Northern Thai dialect).
The Bhubing Palace is located on Doi Buak Ha, Muang District, Chiang Mai Province. It was built in 1961, royal winter residence and also a place to stay when the Royal family visits the people in the northern part of Thailand.
Mae Sa Waterfalls is actually a part of Doi Suthep-Pui National Park. It is one of the most famous waterfalls in Chiang Mai.

Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden was established in 1993 by the Botanical Garden Organization (BGO) under the Ministry of the Natural Rsources and Environment.In 1994, the BGO received a great honor from H.M. Queen Sirikit to grant a royal permission to name the garden after Her Majesty's name Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden. This garden was very big and you can drive your car or ride your motorbike inside the garden. Believe me, you cannot walk from the main entrance because the area was huge (1,000 hectares) and very hilly.

Pongyang Jungle Coaster Chiang Mai (Mae Rim) Thailand
The passengers drive in safety guided twin-bob-comfort-sledge on a rail guided summer toboggan run and determine their velocity up to 40 km/h at whim. The Jungle Coaster simply supports itself without basement from the ground,pegs keep the ground. The tobogganist experiences a fascinating and diversified ride in partial aerial heights as the run can be assembled between 1 m and 6 m height above the ground. intergrated jumps, twister, round-abouts or camelbacks boost the thrill.

สวนพฤกษศาสตร์แห่งนี้ก่อตั้งเมื่อปี พ.ศ.2536 มีพื้นที่ประมาณ 6,500 ไร่
เดิมทีมีชื่อว่า “สวนพฤกษศาสตร์แม่สา” ที่ตั้งขึ้นมาเพื่อให้เป็นสวนพฤกษศาสตร์ประจำภาคเหนือของประเทศไทย แต่หลังจากนั้นได้โอนย้ายเข้าไปอยู่ในความดูแลขององค์การสวนพฤกษศาสตร์ พร้อมกับวางแผนและพัฒนาให้เป็นสวนพฤกษศาสตร์ระดับสากล แห่งแรกของประเทศซึ่งในปี พ.ศ.2537 องค์การสวนพฤกษศาสตร์ได้รับพระราชทานพระราชานุญาตจาก
สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถให้ใช้ชื่อสวนพฤกษศาสตร์แห่งนี้ว่า สวนพฤกษศาสตร์สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ ที่นี่มีสภาพโดยทั่วไปเป็นที่ราบและที่สูงสลับกันเป็นชั้นๆในระดับ 300-970 เมตรจากระดับน้ำทะเลปานกลางลักษณะการจัดสวนจะแบ่งพันธุ์ไม้ตามวงศ์และความเหมาะสม
ของสภาพพื้นที่ รวบรวมพันธุ์ไม้ทั้งในและต่างประเทศซึ่งเหมาะสำหรับผู้ที่ต้องการศึกษาเกี่ยวกับพันธุ์ไม้นานาชนิดได้เข้าไป ศึกษาหาความรู้
Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden

Thailand’s very first botanic garden is now major travel destination in Mae Rim district covering a mountainous area of 560 acres and displays a vast collection of plants from different climates around the world. Established in 1992 to honor HM Queen Sirikit, the garden features several highlights including a Rainforest Glasshouse where you get to walk amid abundant kinds of plants from all tropical forests in Asia. There are a number of walking trails provided but also feel free to walk around and enjoy the lush green without any orders.

The gardens are nearby however my camera was not working properly so did not get any suitable video. The gardens are well worth a visit IMHO if you are in Chiang Mai.
