In the ancient city of Melaca in southern Malaysia has many architectural attractions. One of them is Dutch or Red Square. There is a beautiful Christ Church, built in 1753, Queen Victoria Fountain. On the square you can see the brightly decorated with flowers and bells, rickshaws and drive them to other significant places of the old city.

The Queen Victoria Fountain , Melaka
The Queen Victoria Fountain was built in 1901 by the British and is still standing as elegant as ever. Also this vintage water fountain
is still functioning very well.This fountain is a famous backdrop for all visitors who come to Melaka which is located just next to the Christ Church.
Tan Beng Swee Clock Tower
This clock tower was erected in 1886 in honor of a generous Chinese tycoon named Tan Beng Swee.
There is a small stretch of Souvenir shops located just next to Christ Church.
Bicycle Rickshaws At melaka Christ Church
It is a form of bicycle-Rickshaw that cruise around the Chrish-Church area. They decorate the Rickshaw with bright flowers, lights and as well music. Children get attracted to many cartoon themed rickshaws like Frozen , Hello Kitty , Disney princess and many more.
The drivers line up at the front of Christ Church and offer prices for various places around town. The price is quite reasonable too.
Best time to ride the rickshaws is at night when the bright colorful lights glow on the streets of Melaka.

1400년경부터 해상무역을 장악해 부와 번영을 이뤘던 말라카왕국의 중심지였던 말라카는 포르투갈 네덜란드 영국으로 이어지는 서구열강들의 지배가 끊이지 않았던 곳이다. 벽돌색 건물이 특징인 이곳 네덜란드 광장의 분수는 영국의 빅토리아여왕의 생일을 기념하기 위해서 영국의 식민지 시절 만들어졌다고 한다. 역사의 소용돌이가 지나간 지금 그곳에선 말레이시아 젊은이들이 즐거운 한때를 보내고 있는 모습이었다. 대항해 시절 말라카왕국에서 약탈한 보물들을 가득 싣고 침몰했던 포르투갈의 범선 플로라 데 라마르호를 그대로 복원한 배 모형도 전시되어 있었는데 교복을 입고 단체로 관람을 온 아이들의 모습이 인상적이었다. 포르투갈군이 네덜란드와의 전투에 대비하여 16세기 초반 지은 산티아고 요새는 관문만이 남아 처절했던 전투를 짐작하게 한다. 요새 안에는 관광객의 이목을 집중시키는 이구아나가 있었는데, 한국 돈으로 1000원 정도 에 사진을 찍게 해준다는 것이었다. 역사유적지 안에서의 호객행위 모습은 그다지 좋아 보이지 않았다. 말라카해협이 내려다보이는 언덕에는 포르투갈 지배 당시 지어진 세인트폴 교회와 선교사 사비에르의 동상이 있다. 교회는 네덜란드와 영국군의 공격에 의해 파괴되어 지금은 폐허만 남았지만, 말라카 선교에 앞장섰던 사비에르의 유해가 있는 자리에는 아직도 많은 사람들이 그를 기억하며 소원을 빌고 있었다. 역사의 아픔을 그대로 간직하고 있는 교회 앞에는 말레이시아 독립 선언 기념관이 들어서 있었다. 독립의 감격을 그대로 재현한 밀랍인형들이 전시 되어 있었는데 말레이인, 중국인, 인도인이 모두 한나라의 국민으로 뭉쳐 500여 년 간의 식민지배를 자국민의 힘으로 벗어내고, 온 국민이 거리로 나와 ‘메르데카’ ‘독립’을 외치던 그날의 모습이 얼마나 감격스러웠을지 상상이 되었다.

古城馬六甲的荷蘭廣場 觀景塔 獨立紀念公園 教堂山
荷蘭人在東方保留下最古老的建築群—荷蘭廣場(Dutch Square)
跨過馬六甲河橋，在河東岸一個四周都是荷蘭式紅色建築物的廣場，有荷蘭紅屋(紅毛屋)、「維多利亞女皇噴泉Queen Victoria’s Fountain」、「馬六甲鐘樓Melaka Clock Tower」、「馬六甲基督教堂Christ Church Melaka」。它們是荷蘭人在東方保留下來的最古老的建築物，大約在公元1641年至1660年左右建成。馬六甲的標誌性建築 紅灰色建築的「荷蘭紅屋Stadthuys」，它在三百多年來一直是政府機關所在地，直到1980年才改為馬六甲博物館。
馬六甲觀景瞭望塔(Menara Taming Sari)
位於 Medan Samudera 購物市場附近的馬六甲觀景瞭望塔 全市景致飽覽無遺。瞭望塔自2008 年開幕以來，便成為馬六甲遊客的行程表上必有的項目之一。環形的觀光艙可承載 66 人，更備有空調設施。遊客可在 80 米高的空中，安然舒適地觀賞馬六甲的市內景色，360度俯瞰眺望整個城市的荷蘭紅屋廣場、聖保羅山等著名景點。
乘座觀景瞭望塔由啟動、升至頂點至降落地面，整個過程大約只有十分鐘的時間。雖然觀景瞭望塔的高度不算很高，但馬六甲的建築物普遍較矮，因此亦可看到很遠的風景。除此之外，乘客觀景瞭望塔的人不多，因此購票後可即時內進，無須一大清早起床前往排隊購買。
馬六甲獨立紀念公園Taman Bunga Merdeka Bandaraya Melaka
紀念公園裡其中只有最右邊的一棵樹，正式馬六甲樹，也是我們熟知馬六甲 的起源。
馬來西亞第一位首相東姑阿都拉曼在1956年2月20日宣布馬來西亞獨立，其儀式就是在馬六甲的草場Pahlawan Bandar Hilir舉行的。
獨立宣言紀念館曾是馬六甲俱樂部，建於1912年。如今它收藏了馬來西亞獨立前後的照片以及第一位首相東姑阿都拉曼的肖像。遊客可看到所展出的歷史性的文件、地圖、條約、錄像帶、影片、會議記錄、新聞稿及有關爭取獨立的資料；位於城市廣場和聖保羅山以南。
三保山 聖約翰古堡 聖保羅教堂 從教堂山俯瞰馬六甲
葡萄牙城山(Porta de Sangtiago)在馬六甲市西南，靠近馬六甲河口，是馬六甲蘇丹拜里米蘇拉將中國明成祖贈送的金龍文箋勒石樹碑之處。明成祖曾封此山為鎮國山。此山後又稱聖保羅山。山上有一個古堡，又稱聖地亞哥碉堡，是當時的葡萄牙殖民者為防範被擊敗的馬六甲王國軍隊的反攻而修築的。現在能看到的是一片殘牆斷垣，只有古堡城門樓依然屹立在門頂。這座高三十多米的城樓，壁上雕刻著當年葡萄牙軍隊的許多圖案。城堡內幾塊石碑保存完好，給人類留下了若干歷史史實。
在聖保羅山的山頂上有一座聖保羅教堂，是葡萄牙總督阿伯於1511年建立的，是歐洲人在東南亞修建的最古老的教堂。教堂幾經戰亂被毀，但教堂前全身潔白的聖芳濟百雕像，雖歷盡滄桑，面目仍然清晰可見。
