Hello Everyone,
Today we return to Steamrail Vcitorias Main Base, Newport Workshops for their Open Weekend.
This Year we had a treat of being the First Public Apperance of A2 986 in it's proper Livery as well as K190's New Livery which was painted over the Summer Holidays while steam was Dead on the Mainline due to restrictions.
The Day ran with 10 Steam locomotives on show, as well as other various diesels and roiling stock. As well seem was the rebuilt Roads 2 and 3 after the first last year.
There were also numerous visiting Engines who were VGR's K160, YVR's J541 and Scienceworks 'Polly', with xy carriages from Castlemaine.

Wemblesden Park at Shildon exhibition 2018
Wemblesden park is a 4mm scale exhibition layout based on the Wembley/Willesden/Stonebridge Park area of North London. The layout mesures 16'x8' and uses the MERG superbloc system to drive all the trains on the main lines. This maintains a constant flow of stock moving across the main viewing area.
The TMD shed building features a working loco lift as well as servo operated shed doors. There is also an operational carriage washing machine where trains of empty coaching stock pass through usually hauled by class 82 & 83 locos.
The power signal box is based on the design used at Rugby, Bletchley and Willesden and features a fully detailed relay room on the ground floor while upstairs there is a fully working track diagram linked to the layouts signaling system. The town centre is a typical 1960's redevelopment that also incorporates a bus station as well as shops on two levels.
The layout was designed to keep the public entertained at exhibitions by always having trains moving as well as to try and show what it was like growing up back in the 1980's. The layout's home base is in the north east of england and normally requires 2 operators for a show.

Triple headed 30 class banked by a 38, MacDonaldtown, 1969.
3053, 3112 and 3134, banked by 3811, combine to lift the empty cars from No. 50 Moss Vale Passenger out of the arrival road at MacDonaldtown car sheds, in 1969. This was set up by the late Roger McKenzie in return for showing it on the introduction to Channel 7 news, of which he was the editor. The sound is dubbed.

Trainspotting with Roger McKenzie: NSW trains 1960s-70s
The clip follows film editor and collector Roger McKenzie as he travels from Gosford to Fassifern in NSW - a popular place for rail enthusiasts to observe 60 class Garratt steam locomotives in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
After backing out of the colliery they put on an impressive performance, climbing up the grade heading toward Port Waratah. McKenzie manages to get behind the scenes by travelling out to Newstan Colliery and films the train shunting before commencing its journey.
The next scenes are from the footplate of 6002 (the second engine on the train - with 6019 leading) as it travels north to Port Waratah.

Richmond Vale Railway Museum - 1st September, 2019
A short video of my visit to the RVRM, an opportunity to try some things out for myself, first was a set of Tripod Shoes that I made to absorb the shocks from the floor of a moving railway carriage. They worked a treat! The second idea was one of editing that I learned from Maliek Whittaker of Power Director University, a clone effect that would've had me standing beside myself. Regrettably the LED light I had gave a disappointing result in lightening the room, it was too dark, and the attempt at doing dialogue with myself also failed owing to timing problems. Ah well, as the driving instructor said to the learner when they came to a screeching halt, Them's the breaks(brakes) LOL
Something like the Clone Effect really needs a lot of rehearsal and a close eye on timing.
Other than the wraparound music from my generic intro and closing, Choose Your Path by The Jingle Punks(YouTube Music Library) I've used no other music.

Trams & Trains - Richmond Vale Railway Museum: The Recovery & Restoration
My first project for 2018 sees me visiting the Richmond Vale Railway Museum for its official reopening on Sunday, 4th March, 2018. As well as shooting my video, I caught up with Josh Dean of Steam In New South Rails, as well as Steve(last name as yet unknown to me) of Steel Ribbons. Plus I also got to meet David Threlfo. It was a sort-of unofficial YouTuber Convention! LOL. One thing I finally got to do was try a little device that I constructed, which I called a Monopod Shoe. It consists of a small cardboard box, stuffed with foam rubber, a small circular hole cut in the top, and under that hole, a top from a soft-drink bottle, all sealed up with plastic tape to keep it waterproof. The device was created because I needed something to absorb the rumble from the floor of a tram or train carriage(avoid the jelly-shake effect) and I'm happy to report it worked like a charm! Yippee! This reopening of the Richmond Vale Railway Museum has been covered not just by me, but by Steam In New South Rails, Steel Ribbons(as yet not uploaded as I write this) and David Threlfo had his own camera there as well as his NBN gear for his official work. Great Train Weekend June 2010 - Shuttle Trip From Sydney - Clyde With 3642 & 3526
From Saturday June 12th, to Monday June 14th 2010, the NSW Rail Transport Museum have hosted three days of shuttle trips from Sydney - Clyde with 3642 and 3526. We had hopped on a shuttle trip from Sydney - Clyde, and it was a very enjoyable ride.
Also, the Powerhouse Museum's NEWLY RESTORED Locomotive 3265, was on display with some famous railway carriages.
Persimmon with the Northumbrian
Here we see A3 Persimmon being prepared on shed for duty. It then proceeds down to the station where it takes over the Kings Cross-Newcastle Northumbrian Express.
This model has been fitted with the new Hornby A3 TTS decoder but I changed the standard speaker to a Flame 12 which I think gives a better sound quality
