Small Brown Bike In Need of Everything (acoustic) - RATIO SESSIONS
More Ratio Sessions:
Beers and bands go hand to hand! Ratio Beerworks is expanding that experience with Ratio Sessions, a series of intimate concerts, meet & greets and special beer releases in breweries Denver taproom.
On January 23th, 2016, Small Brown Bike stopped into Ratio to hang out during their three day Colorado tour. The guys met with fans, drank some beers, took some pictures in the photo booth and performed In Need of Everything in the taproom.
Ratio Beerworks is a craft brewery that focuses on meticulously crafted beer located at 2920 Larimer St. in the Upper Larimer district of the historic Five Points neighborhood in Denver, Colorado. The brewery offers a lineup of five flagship beers, a variety of seasonal beers, and an artisan series that services the craft beer purist through specialty barrel aged ales and barrel fermented wild and sour ales packaged in 750mL bottles.
The beers crafted at Ratio are often named after bands, albums and songs that the founders find influential such as Domestica (American Standard Ale), Dear You (French Saison) and Repeater (Extra Pale Ale). The founders met through the independent music industry close to a decade ago. Ratio Sessions is a concept that brings the history of the founder's independent music ties into the brewery. Ratio Beerworks invites their favorite bands that are currently touring to stop in, talk beer and play a few acoustic songs. The sessions are planned and executed by the local teamwork of Soda Jerk Presents, Mostly Harmless Podcast and KJ Creative.

Zuni Street Brewing Company - LocalBrews Documentary
In April's documentary, we sit down and talk to Zuni Street Brewing.
Zuni Street Brewing Company is the product of a friendship that has lasted over 18 years. The founders, Willy Truettner and TJ Slattery, became friends at West Middle School in southern Denver when they were twelve years old. The boys have been building their friendship on a foundation of mutual appreciation for music, beer, and the great outdoors ever since.
In their college years and afterwards, Willy and TJ pursued very different educational and professional careers. Willy earned his BA in environmental policy at Western Washington University, but would discover along the way his true passion: brewing craft beer.
One year after graduating college, Willy entered the Siebel Institute of Technology and studied brewing in Chicago and Munich. After finishing the program, Willy was recruited by Bell’s Brewery in Michigan where he put his training to use. After two years at Bell’s, Willy’s native state of Colorado was calling him home and he worked hard to land a rare job opening, brewing for New Belgium Brewery.
During this time, TJ earned a business degree from Miami University of Ohio and went on to embrace entrepreneurial and management roles in hospitality, real estate, and healthcare.
In 2014 the founders met up for a pint and to catch up on life since college. They discovered they had vastly different but highly compatible abilities. Soon a partnership formed and plans for a brewery started. Willy would brew the beer, and TJ would bring it to the people.
By early 2016 the partners had found premises in the Lower Highland neighborhood of Denver. After exactly one year, the planning and buildout was completed. The brewery opened in March, 2017 and has been chugging along ever since.

Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey Tour Part 2
Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey Tour
Hey you guys! Thanks for joining me on another journey. My buddy Cole & I took a tour of Stranahan's in Denver, Colorado.
This is what Wikipedia has to say about the history of Stranahan's...
Stranahan's was founded by Jess Graber and George Stranahan, after whom the whiskey is named, in Colorado in 2004.[1][2] In 1998, Graber, a volunteer firefighter, met Stranahan, the founder and owner of Flying Dog Brewery, while fighting a fire at Stranahan's barn.[3][4] They struck up a conversation about whiskey, and were soon in business together.[4] One of the first craft whiskey distillers in the US,[5] Stranahan's is said to have kicked off the Colorado distilling craze with its whiskey and the designation it invented, Rocky Mountain Whiskey.[6] It was Colorado's first microdistillery,[7] and the state's first legal distillery since Prohibition.[8]
The first batch of Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey was distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2006.[4] Stranahan's was sold to New Jersey-based Proximo Spirits in 2010, with operations remaining in Colorado.[1] By 2012, Proximo had increased whiskey production from around 12 barrels per week to 30, with plans to grow into the high forties.[1][4] Stranahan's was sold in 38 states and 7 countries until 2010, when Proximo decided to scale down sales to mostly the Colorado area, maintaining the whiskey's availability in its home state.[4][9]
Since 2011, Rob Dietrich has served as Stranahan's head distiller, after taking over from original head distiller Jake Norris.
