Video Blog 18 - Hiking Rattlesnake Lake | WA, USA
We hiked Rattlesnake Lake this winter to get some great landscape shots. The path had been so compacted that ice form all over the trail. Definitely not recommended for children and small dogs. I hope you enjoy our struggle to get to the top and the views!

Rattlesnake Lake, WA
Kristina: Ok, first video blog in Washington State, woohoo! We’re going to Rattlesnake Lake and Rattlesnake Ridge, and Cody has a secret spot from when he was a kid that he’s gonna show us today, so I’m excited. Who’s excited? Hopefully we’ll get lots of great photos. More like I will get lots of great photos because I am the only one that brought a camera today.
Big rock! Don’t slip!
Give my camera back to me!
Cody: Babe! That’s a big ice patch! I’m done.
1 hour later....
Kristina: Ok, so the trail was a lot worse than we thought. Super icy, so now we’re super sweaty. But we’re at the top. This isn’t the ledge part, but here’s a view. That’s Mt. Si. And that’s a long way down.
Cody: No coat.
Kristina: Ok, let’s get to the ledge. It’s Rattlesnake Ledge not Ridge, but it’s supposed to be really pretty, so we’ll see.

2014 Rattlesnake Mountain - Tri Cities Shooting Association's Washington State Palma Championship
It took a little time to compile my video summary of my trip to Rattlesnake Mountain. I participated in TCSA Washington State Palma Championship in May of 2014. Although I didn't score very well the first day I progressively improved my score at 800, 900 and 1000 yards. Great learning experience and a great time meeting other fellow Canadians and America competitors. Some competitors took the time to travel from Alberta to compete. A few of our Canadian TR and F-class competitors took home awards and won the F-open division.
This is one of the closest 1000 yard range we have to the Lower Mainland/Metro Vancouver area. Approximately a 6 hr drive from the Lower Mainland to Benton City. Rattlesnake Mountain Range offers incredible challenging winds and longer ranges for competitors seeking to stretch their legs. Camping is available at a nearby camp grounds with showers and washrooms. I stayed in the next closest town of Richland at a Inn.
Competitors wishing to travel to the United States from Canada will be require to fill in and fax a 6NIA (new form is dated 11/30/2017) form from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE). The approval for the 6NIA form may take up to 3 months so get your forms faxed in well a head of your planned trip to attend any competition in the US. In addition hopeful competitors will require an invitation from the match director to the event that they are attending with their name on the invitation indicating his or hers attendance on the certain date. Competitors will need to present these two forms to the boarder guard in order to temporarily bring their ammunition and firearms into Washington State. Additional information about traveling to the US and the 6NIA form could be found at the link below:
Schedule of competition at TCSA please visit:
Competitors may have to present a membership certificate to Precision Rifle Association such as the BCRA/DCRA at the time of registration at the competition. I believe this is a liability insurance concern.

A Day at Base Camp | Little Rock, AR | Hiking Rattlesnake Ridge
We were not able to go camping this weekend. We decided to share what we could do for a day at base camp in Little Rock, Arkansas. We started out our day by having cream of wheat. After that, we drove over to Rattlesnake Ridge Natural Area in West Little Rock Arkansas to do one of the top hikes in the area. Next we wanted to cool off so we left Rattlesnake Ridge to go to our spot on the Little Maumelle River. To finish off the day, we had an amazing dinner at The Fold: Botanas & Bar.

New hiking, mountain biking projects in Snoqualmie corridor
The Washington State Department of Natural Resources has several projects in the works to increase recreation options in the Snoqualmie Corridor near North Bend, Tiger Mountain and Issaquah. Among them is new mountain biking terrain at Tiger Mountain:
DIANA ADAMS in North Bend, Washington, call girl called out on manipulations! Honesty?
This video is an end result to a ten week manipulation scheme, where Roger wanted DIANA to live at RUDY'S so she could perform sexual acts in a cluttered house, packed garage for IV drugs, alcohol, or maybe $5. She trashed a room stole many things, bailed on huge debt. Even scarier is that ROGER & RUDY spent many hours of their time scheming, This event and a destructive trail would essentially cost DIANA a one-of-a-kind love-ship, and approximately $4200, Now, she is being lied to about getting paid as a call girl. She will be worthless and broke in 4 weeks.
Enormous ice circle spins in Washington river

A circle of ice was spotted spinning in the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River near North Bend, Washington, on January 7 2017.
An ice disc, ice circle, or ice pan is a natural phenomenon that occurs in slow moving water in cold climates.
Ice circles are thin and circular slabs of ice that rotate slowly in the water. It is believed that they form in eddy currents. It has been shown that existing ice discs can maintain their rotation due to melting. Ice discs have most frequently been observed in Scandinavia and North America, but they are occasionally recorded as far south as England and Wales. An ice disc was observed in Wales in December 2008 and another was reported in England in January 2009.An ice disc was observed on the Sheyenne River in North Dakota in December 2013. An ice circle of approximately 50 ft. in diameter was observed and photographed in Lake Katrine, New York on the Esopus Creek around January 23, 2014. In Idaho, extreme weather led to a rare sighting of an Ice disk on the Snake River on January 22, 2014.
An unusual natural phenomenon, ice disks occur in slow moving water in cold climates and can vary in size, with circles more than 15 metres (49 ft) in diameter observed.
Ice discs form on the outer bends in a river where the accelerating water creates a force called 'rotational shear', which breaks off a chunk of ice and twists it around. As the disc rotates, it grinds against surrounding ice — smoothing into a circle. A relatively uncommon phenomenon, one of the earliest recordings is of a slowly revolving disc spotted on the Mianus River and reported in an 1895 edition of Scientific American.
Ice Pans River specialist and geography professor Joe Desloges states that ice pans are surface slabs of ice that form in the center of a lake or creek, instead of along the water’s edge. As water cools, it releases heat that turns into 'frazil ice' that can cluster together into a pan-shaped formation. If an ice pan accumulates enough frazil ice and the current remains slow, the pan may transform into a 'hanging dam', a heavy block of ice with high ridges and a low centre.

Backpacking Yellowstone National Park: A 10 Day October Thorofare Trip
This is a 10 day backpacking loop we did in October, 2015. This is in the south east corner of Yellowstone National Park. We start and end at the Heart Lake Trail Head. Day 1 we hike in and camp at Heart Lake. We the last person we will see until day 10. Day 2 we hike to Grouse Creek, and then follow that up to the South Arm of Yellowstone Lake to camp at 7N4. A grizzly bear comes into camp that night, and hangs around the area all night. Fresh tracks are everywhere in the mud the next morning. Day 3 we hike over to the Southeast Arm of Yellowstone Lake, and camp at a spectacular campsite, 6A3. A huge windstorm develops in the early morning, knocking over several trees in our camp. We stop at the Trail Creek Patrol Cabin, which has a down tree on it, and witness over a dozen trees fall withing a 30 minute period. We continue hiking, cross the Yellowstone River, and camp night 4 at 6C2, which is probably my favorite backcountry campsite in the park. During the night, something whacks our tent. The next 2 days we loiter along the river. We camp at 6Y6 night 5, and 6T2 night 6. Both nights we hear wolves come by camp. Day 7 we cross the Yellowstone River again, and climb up to Mariposa Lake, camping there. Day 8 we cross the Snake River, and follow it down to campsite 8C9. Day 9 we work our way back to Heart Lake, camping at campsite 8J6 for the last night of the trip. We see 2 bears while hiking, and then have another bear in camp several times during the night. In the morning our fire pit was dug out, with fresh bear tracks in the mud. We hike back to our car at the trail head to finish the trip.
