Sri Gadong_Shipwreck of Miri, Sarawak
Sri Gadong was a small steel cargo vessel about 30 meters in length, commissioned to carry sawn timber when it was sunk off the coast of Miri.
The wreck is a popular dive site, about 1 hour+ travel time boat ride from Miri. Diving visibility conditions vary from 20m to 40m, depending on weather and other factors.
This is one of the favourite sites among local divers and is renowned for its large resident groupers. Other common sighting includes school of jacks, yellow tail snappers, batfish and barracudas encircling around the wreck while the giant groupers swim in and out of the cargo compartment.

We have the bow here- confirmed!
So far we have surveyed the site and the dimensions fit the Type 1M tanker. We have found loads of spent 25mm casings with Jap head stampings on them. The bow has a large gauge s.w.r. coiled on the deck. The anchor chain is run out. It is 5 km from the new rivermouth and 5 km from the marina ( where the old river used to join the sea). She is sat in 14m of water with the bow 8m off the seabed. There is about 60 metres of debris field and then the mid section which stands about 7m proud of the bed. We need to rummage the bow, mid section and debris field.
Meet Phyllaplysia lafonti (a.k.a. Petalifera lafonti by some, but I have it on authority of my friends at Nudibase that Phyllaplysia is the proper genus). The sea hares (Anaspidea) are a big group of sea slugs that are widespread and diverse in size and color, but they are all herbivores (plant eaters). Most of them still have a small internal shell that they retain from their shelled snail-like ancestors, and many of them can spew purple ink as a defense mechanism, much like an octopus.
This subtly pretty hare is found exclusively on Padina brown algae, to which it is well-camouflaged. They are found in all tropical oceans. This one was filmed at Piti, Guam, and as I mentioned I have only seen the species this one time.
The fish market
This is the local fish market, it is really hopping on Sunday. The pelicans are waiting for scraps, I picked up a 12 lb red snapper and had it filleted, split it with my buddy Web , 15 bucks each.
