(AMAZING SLOPES) WELCOME TO HAKUBA! SKI JAPAN!
Good morning!! What an amazing morning to wake up on the beautiful slopes of Japan. No snow today, however, beautiful blue skies, calm winds and my first-day skiing in 10 years! I'm so excited to get out but first I head down to get fitted for skis & boots.
I take the free shuttle bus from my accommodation Hakuba House to Hakuba 47, get my day pass and head up the mountain.
There are several mountains to ski in Hakuba. I chose Hakuba 47 as recommended by the host of Hakuba House (great place to stay - cosy, open fire, bar and a great owner from Australia!
This was an incredible day, beautiful views and lots of adventure. This is why I LOVE TRAVEL.

Drenched in HAKUBA: SPRING RAIN & JAPOW (April 2019)
こんにちは! (Hello!)
Praise be to God for turning my rain-drenched day 1 around and making all things work for good, by providing snow the next day, then powder on the next, and a huge dump of DRY powder on the fourth! It was incredible, out of this world!!
Certainly, I'm thankful that I am blessed great snow. But, deep inside, I have a strong sense that I will never be satisfied even if I find the best snow in the world and get to ride in it for hours, because all these are temporal and will fade away. There's no real purpose in just chasing better snow in life.
I will definitely still continue snowboarding, but there is more: I hope to touch lives through the love of Christ, and delight in His provisions of snow and the seasons, seeking Him as my greatest pursuit in my earthly life.
This past Friday was Good Friday (19 Apr 19). In history, Christ bore our sins on the cross, so that we may have life, and life to the fullest. Three days later, he resurrected to life to prove his power and death has no hold on Him. And if He lives in us when we accept Him, we have His righteousness, health, blessings and so much more!
It's simple, and life is supposed to be simple, only that I/We make it more complicated than necessary.
Matthew 6:26-30 NIV
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?
Is this a preaching session, that may make people uncomfortable? That'd be great, but I felt a strong sense that I needed to say it. Perhaps, you need to know that God loves you and has plans for you. And your reading of this is not just a coincidence.

Japan 2016 Vlog 2 - Kyoto to Hakuba
Part 2 of our Japan 2016 trip. From Hakone we took a bullet train to Kyoto. We spent 4 days visiting this beautiful city - a complete contrast to Tokyo. We went to Osaka for a day trip and ate for 4 hours straight. Our last leg was Hakbua - the first time seeing snow for Steve. We took skiing lessons and fell in love with the family friendly Hakuba town and powder snow.
