Roaring River Trout Hatchery, Roaring River State Park, Missouri
First time visiting a fish hatchery. I wanted to grab my rod & reel and go to town. You can't really gauge the size of these fish, but if you watch to the end.... some of those lunkers were over 14 pounds. Unbelievable.

314 Missouri in the Civil War
By the end of the Civil War, Missouri supplied nearly 110,000 Union troops and 40,000 Confederates. There were battles and skirmishes in all areas of the state. In total, Missouri saw more than 1,200 distinct fights. Only Virginia and Tennessee exceeded our state in the number of conflicts. Join us each week as Joan explores new topics through lecture followed by short trips to various Civil War sites in St. Louis. We will carpool to the sites. Please bring a sack lunch.
Lewis And Clark State Park
Lewis and Clark used a keelboat to haul most of their supplies up the Missouri River. It was moved by sail, oars, poles and towlines. The replicas of the keelboat and the explorers’ small boats, called pirogues, which are quartered here were used in the Ken Burns’ documentary “Undaunted Courage”. For more information, go to

Johnson Shut-ins - Walk in Campsites - Missouri State Parks
I shot a panoramic view of the walk-in camp site we stayed in at the Johnson shut ins state park. Located in the Ozark Mountains the Shut Ins is great place to swim and hike. Whippoorwills sing you to sleep at night. The camp ground provided a cart to help move your gear in if needed. Taum Sauk and Elephant Rocks are near by. This is a stop on the Ozarks Trail system. Please subscribe so youtube will love me.
