Hi everyone!
I am Mikhail Svarovskii and you are watching (There’s No Place Like Home) channel.
Today we have a video review on the 5 Stars cinema at Paveletskaya subway station.
So, let’s start! The cinema is located practically in Moscow downtown area on 25 Bakhrushina str., just 3 minutes away from Paveletskaya subway station After entering the premises turn left to go to box-office.
You can also find ticket terminals to the left of the box-office.
Here you may take your electronic ticket. If you turn right upon entering the cinema you will find a wardrobe (this cinema is one of few that actually have one). Former central children’s cinema was reconstructed and became the second cinema of the (Five Stars) and (Rolan) cinema chain in 2001.
Splendid and unusual design is going to blow you away. The room is cleaved with a waterfall running from the top floor and splashing into a pool on the ground floor.
A huge and unusual fan with spinning blades will atattract your attention.
Multiplex’s infrastructure and comfort create unforgettable emotions for both children and grown-ups.
An elevator with transparent walls and a wooden bridge connecting ground and first floor are a convenient way to move between the floors.
The cinema still carries the functions of a children’s cinema; here, they offer special morning shows and matinees.
“Five Stars” cinema chain annually hosts over 10 festivals; there are also regular special programs.
On the top floor, kids may enjoy “The Happy Train” ride that works on weekends and holidays.
The cinema is a good place to celebrate your birthday, spend some nice time with friends, and have a romantic dinner for two.
“Merlin” manicure salon is open for those, who take care of their hands and have no time to visit a beauty salon. Well, it’s a wonderful place, Mikhail Svarovskii recommended!
Friends, thank you for watching. Like this video and subscribe to my channel.
If you know any, write the names of some unusual and beautiful places in Moscow that you like to visit and can recommend to others.
And who knows, maybe I’ll do my next video review on one of those places!
Love you all. Till next time.
Bye!

Vasily Shukshin loved this film and considered it his best work. Similarly, their best roles played here Georgy Burkov (Thief), Vadim Zakharchenko (Fellow-traveler), Vsevolod Sanayev (Professor), Ivan Ryzhov (Train steward). The entire film is just an unsurpassable acting masterpiece!
A sadly humorous story about a Siberian tractor driver, Ivan Rastorguyev (Vasily Shukshin), traveling with his wife (Lydia Fedoseyeva-Shukshina) to a Black Sea resort, and about their first visit to Moscow.
The village life, with its people, songs and drinking party, was photographed almost in a documentary-film manner (the shooting took place in Shukshin’s homeland – the Altai Region), while the travel itself is packed with anecdotal, funny situations which provoke a lot of sympathy and even a slight feeling of sadness. Shukshin does not spare the comedy palette in portraying his character, even if empathizing with him. For, according to Shukshin, it is those Ivans who are the salt of the earth. The theme of a provincial guy in a big city is always interesting and, therefore, is a sure win, but the most precious thing in this never-aging film is the personality of the talented actor, writer and director Vasily Shukshin, hence the psychological depth in the presentation of the story.

Andrei Rublev - Andrei Tarkovsky 1966 HD - Legendado PT-BR 1080p (english subtitles added)

Question Time with Andrey Plakhov 1
Question:
Russian culture and cinema were always remarkable and loved for its unique character, long-standing humanistic and philosophical traditions. While the American mainstream is drowned in happy ends and European cinema explores the limits of social drama, Russian filmmakers are eager to find the answers for the main existential questions, cure for human souls. Do you think there is a chance for the new generation in Russian cinema and art to keep this line, not to let the uniqueness be washed away by the world of consumerism?

8 interesting facts about the film Shirley-Myrli
8 interesting facts about the film Shirley-Myrli
After the film Love and Doves director Vladimir Menshov did not sit down for ten years in the director's chair - there was no suitable script. Shirley-Myrtle he did not plan to shoot, but the screenwriters Vitaly Moskalenko and Andrei Samsonov asked him to edit the comedy about the twin brothers who fall into the most absurd situations
The director himself did not notice how he got involved in the process, invented names for the characters, completed several scenes and began to think in his mind of the performers of roles ... Eventually, Menchov decided that this was the scenario he had been looking for for many years.
Samples for the role of Vasi Krolikov and his brothers went for a very long time. The actor was supposed to play several different characters, so the demands were high. Among the candidates were Nikita Mikhalkov, to whom the director did not dare to give the part, and Alexander Abdulov and even Oleg Tabakov, who had already been approved for another role. The shooting began already, but the main character was not there. The desperate director began to look for an actor in theaters - he went on passes, performances, watched entreprises and as a result entrusted the main role to the theatrical actor Valery Garkalin, who then did not often appear on the screen. He rejected the candidacy of Garkalin, but Menshov put an ultimatum - either he or no one.
During the filming, Valery Garkalin believed that the director Vladimir Menshov had disliked him for something, because he always watched the filming with a displeased face and never praised. Garkalin so worried that he decided to abandon the role. I met the director in the corridor and said: I'm leaving! You do not love me! . Menchov fell to his knees and cried: Well, how can I prove my love ?!. After that, he resorted demonstratively to all the scenes from the Garkalinsky scene, stood next to the cameraman, smiled widely and showed his thumb.
Vera Alentova played in the film three heroines, but most of all she liked the American Carol Abzac, who covered the whole film in a wedding dress. Alentova spent several days in wedding salons and chose the dress of her dreams - the fact is that they had a modest student wedding with Vladimir Menshov without formal attire. Therefore, the actress was very happy to be able to be a smart bride.
The name of the film is taken from a song sang by Vasily Krolikov: Shirley-Myrli, Shir-manirli, Shir-matyrkin, Mur-Mur-kin ... The song itself means nothing and was invented for the film, but the expression Shirley-Myrli On slang means nonsense, trifle, every nonsense. By the way, in America the film was shown under the title Well and a mess!
The wedding of the conductor Shniperson was filmed in the Sheremetyevs' estate in Kuskovo. Employees of the estate museum, ensuring the safety of the exhibits, put a number of restrictions on the film crew: do not use the exhibits as props, do not use hair varnishes in the halls and do not walk on the floor in ordinary shoes. Therefore, the shoes of the main characters were beaten with felt, and the extras were shod in ordinary museum slippers.
In the apartment Innokentii Shnipersona you can see the bronze horse. Before getting into the Shirley-Myrtle, this horse visited the filming of the films Package, My affectionate and tender beast, The Diamond Arm, Seventeen Moments of Spring, and her most famous role was in the comedy Love affair at work. In fact, the sculpture is called Perseus and Pegasus and is a copy of the work of the French sculptor Emile Louis Pico.
The film set a record for the number of stars in Soviet cinema. In the comedy Shirley Myrli withdrew as much as 9 folk artists of the USSR - Vsevolod Sanaa, Evgeniy Vesnik, Nonna Mordjukova, Oleg Efremov, Oleg Tabakov, Rolan Bykov, Leonid Kuravlev Armen Dzhigarkhanyan Inna Churikov. In an episode of the film he played a journalist future famous director Andrei Zvyagintsev, and the orchestra played Shnipersona, and then tap to the actors danced Irina Apeksimova and Valery Nikolaev ...
By the way, not all actors liked the result of the work - Nona Mordkova and Inna Churikova first regretted that they agreed to act in such farce. Then Valery Garkalin said that a few years after the premiere he called Inna Churikova and said that she reviewed the film and realized that over the years it is playing in it better and better ...

Question Time with Andrey Plakhov 3
Question:
There were lots of brilliant films made in the Soviet Union: Brilliantovaya Ruka, Operaciya X i Drugie Priklucheniya Shurika , just to name a few. These films became an essential part of our culture. However, as we can see, a lot of USSR films were banned from screening. With your help, more than 200 films were finally released after Perestroyka.
The question is then as follows: how acceptable is for the authorities (i.e., for the Ministry of Culture) to have a deciding power in choosing what films can actually be shown to the public and what films are to dominate our culture? Isnt it artificial and unfair to present the mainstream public with rosy reality, when there are so many other less sweet films, which can provide the viewer with an alternative perspective; hence, widen the horizons and understanding?
